GGG should stay at MW to take the defenses record. Staying at MW would be better for his career than going up to 168. especially if he hasn't grown out of the division. he's not a steroid cheat like others who grow their bodies over time with PEDs. RJJ. Toney. Mayweather. Ward(Victor Conte). etc.
At this rate, he will take the consecutive KO defenses record too.
All the while being one of the biggest draws in boxing.
Dominant champion with multiple records that is exciting and draws great #'s.
First ballot hall of famer.
Ward on the other hand is over-hyped by a certain group due to the fact that this certain group are no longer dominant in boxing. Ward's resume is no better than Eubanks or Benn's. He is not a dominant champion and he skates by with close decisions. Froch is not an HOF lock because his best win is Bute. Froch had the draw but he simply does not have the resume. who is george groves? Kessler lost in his prime to Calzaghe and beat Froch.

GGG would be lucky to make the Kazah or Nevada state hall of fame
all the dickriding in the world cant get you in the hall.....the guys fights D,C and B- level opposition.
knocking out no names isnt impressive
he is being moved like a kid not a guy in his mid 30s...the more likely scenario is he doesnt make the hall of fame at all.
There is no gaurantee he gets by Jacobs, Canelo, BJS and Eubank....there have been bigger upsets
he has his work cut out for him to pass Ward achievement and resume wise let alone make the IBHOF
and the rats will jump off the sinking ship as soon as it happens, and onto the next great hope...
you do realize the wbo was basically worthless in the 80s...he fought a bunch of no names and like 2 decent fighters his entire time at 175
nice try

crack kills you know.......
If popularity alone is enough to get into the HOF then WHY is Evander Holyfield - who was MORE popular *and* MORE dominant than Arturo Gatti - NOT in the HOF?
Care to explain how that happened, Genius?
this is the first year he's eligible. he's also linked to steroids. so i'm not surprised.
According to WHOM exactly?
It's obvious that YDKSAB.
Gatti got in for TWO reasons. 1) Because he was a fighter who put it all on the line and left it ALL in the ring and 2) because he died tragically and suddenly while still a relatively young man.
There are LOTS of guys who were MORE dominant and MORE popular than Arturo Gatti who AREN'T in the HOF.
Does the name Evander Holyfield ring a bell?
Try getting a CLUE...
hey guys look, a mental patient posting from the asylum.
dude disagrees with me then lists the exact reasons agreeing with me.
"
1) Because he was a fighter who put it all on the line and left it ALL in the ring and"
that is why he has the popularity, you idiot.
Michael Moorer's resume defecates and urinates all over Bumlovkin's.
the point completely went over your head.
resume doesn't matter as much as dominance and popularity. gatti got in by the merit of popularity alone.
moorer's resume is also better than ward's. he's not in the HOF. ward is going to have a tough time getting in based on resume. especially if he gets smoked by kov. he has no reign. he has no popularity. it's over.
If Ward gets beat by Kovalev. the HOF dream is pretty much done. the diva attitude, the selection of unranked actual bums and the inactivity tells me he won't stay for the long haul.
GGG doesn't have the names but he has the dominance, reign, excitement and popularity.
If Gatti can get in then GGG can get in. that is the point. he's much closer to the HOF than Ward.
If your aunt had testicles, she'd be your uncle
Again, due to your inability to look at anything related to Andre Ward with even a sliver of objectivity, your OPINION means less than nothing.
I'm not sold that Ward is HOF worthy yet, but he's a million miles ahead of g string.

agreed. Wards not a hall of famer for me. Hall of fame should be a celebration of whats good in boxing. Wards career of boring the fans, sueing his management teams and fouling opponents is not hall of fame worthy.

Wait Berto was hope for some users here?jesus christ.
I had meant to say Broner haha but yeah in the past when he had his precious 0 he definitely had his fanbase.
it's like this group of morons can't think outside of a single layer.
since the OP i've said you need dominance, popularity and resume.
what part of this do you not get?
GGG can simply break the defense record with top 10 contenders. He will be in the HOF by default. he has the dominance over a division like Monzon, Hopkins and Tzyu. He has the popularity being the top draw in boxing. And he will have records.
Popularity is more important than even the record. as said Stallone is in the HOF. Gatti is in the HOF. GGG is the face of boxing right now.
Ward does not have popularity nor a reign. He will need a wayyyyyyyyyyy better resume to compete. at this current time he doesn't even have any HOF locks on his resume.
True. Ggg will be a in the HOF if he stays at 160 and breaks defense record without a marquee fighter on his record. Still has work to do. Adre ward's 6yr undefeated run at amateur followed by a gold medal put 1 foot in the HOF door. Then to go 30-0 as a pro winning the super six and holding the title ever since cemented his induction. If he retired tomorrow he's in.
See now I'm confused. You're back to resumes even though you just admitted because of Ward's lack of ticket sales and bad relationship with the media he's not likely to get in.
Since we're back on resumes can you name a fighter on GGG's resume equal to or better than Froch, Abraham, Kessler, Dirrell or Ward?

If Ward loses to Kovalev, I agree. If Ward beats Kovalev, GGG will need to add to his resume, but as it stands right now, he most definitely does. Wards resume is not that impressive, he has two really good wins and he is coming off of inactivity. GGG has been active, winning, and beating champions.
lol i got a life to live.
but i'll make the same points i made earlier
Bowe is in the HOF for his trilogy with Holyfield. Certified HOFer. Great wins and draws for the sport of boxing.
Ward simply does not have a great win or a great draw. Froch is the same level as Benn, Collins and Eubanks, none of whom are in the HOF. this is simply a matter of "IF". he is not a lock for HOF.
He is Ward's best win.
Ward does not have HOFers on his resume. He does not have a dominant reign. He is not a draw. He is not getting in.
btw Michael Moorer is still way ahead of Ward. Ward has to beat Kovalev to be considered on Michael Moorer's level. Tall task.
If Ward gets KOed, his story is finished. No HOF.
Every single one of my original points stand. just LOL @ the detractors getting emotional mugslinging. try to deconstruct the points in my thread.
GGG is much more likely to get in HOF as of this point. Ward has a 50/50 fight coming up right now. His chances will be finished when he gets KOed
none of these points have been deconstructed. simple as that.
Ward is someone that skated by the rules of boxing with his size to be honest.
he made his boxing matches into wrestling matches at SMW. he could no longer do that at LHW that's why you see him box more, but as of late, he has been very very ordinary.
his strengths are actually holding, wrestling, and headbutting. for a boxer, he's a disgrace. his fan support demonstrates that. he does not have power, nor extreme speed nor great timing. he's just someone that hits then holds then controls for the most part.
All those advantages are gone at LHW. You will see what happens when reality hits him in 3 weeks.
