Why do Golovtards use the Lemieux as some sort of benchmark?

You're above perpetuating that myth... When there was a poll a few months back, most here claimed Martin Murray as Golovkin's best opponent. It wasn't Golovkin that turned him into a bum, losing to everyone with a name did that. David "I miraculously got good before fighting GGG" Lemieux's resume speaks for itself. Wade? Rubio? ROSADO? Need I go on? It's an awful division. I wish people would just be honest and say that GGG's talent is not illustrated by his resume. GGG is so many levels above everyone else in the division it seems they're all Z level fighters when in reality some are decent. In fact I have 100% confidence in LaMule KO'ing Fanny Jacobs, quote me on that if the fight ever materialises. Who hasn't beaten the Frenchmen or Rosado? If that's all you need to do to be considered great then Peter Quillen is the goat. Lamule is a limited action fighter with glutenous appetite for jabs,nothing more,nothing less. Golovkin should be receiving points for recycling cans,in boxing's wasteland division.

He improved though. That's what I see there. And, that BOXER yet is "good product" too..IF YOU ASK ME! He improved to what degree? He still has horrid defense,crappy foot work,terrible punch selection,and telegraph's everything he throws. The one thing that he claims to have improved upon is his overall stamina,which I believe the jury is still out on.

Dan Rafael is one of the worst things to ever happen to boxing reporting,and HBO certainly spins their bias, but it still doesn't excuse the sheep mentality of so called "die hard" fans. As long as they continue to follow the sport, they'll learn. Unfortunately, a lot of them get caught in the WWE aspect and play black & white with no grays. Eventually you learn how to ignore those people.

It was a very good performance,but you still have to consider the quality of the opponent. Lemieux has power,but beyond that I'm not sure what his strengths are. The guy certainly can't parry a jab to save his life.
