He's been around boxing forever. Some believe Top Rank is the best at developing fighters.
Does anybody think he is dumb enough to continue discussions with a "broke entity" like Haymon/PBC or is he merely more informed than the media and general public?
I'm no fan of Bob but I highly doubt he wastes any time talking to Haymon if he knows PBC is over.
Seems like the only ones saying PBC is over are a few ugly faces in the media... both boxing and MMA. Smh
The dude is an off the charts genius
Harvard lawyer #1 in his class
Worked for the treasury department
Became the biggest boxing promoter in the world (sharing throne with don King at times)
Has beaten more investigations and indictments than a mafia don
Old and senile but has a few hundred million in the bank
Because Joshua and Brook are already money-makers in their home markets without Haymon; Haymon can help get TV exposure in the US for them (and line up the fighters he does have signed), but that's about it.
James Degale didn't have the profile that Joshua or Brook have in the UK; Haymon offered him the opportunity to become more known in the US and earn more money, so he signed with Haymon.
They don't need haymon for us tv exposure either. they both already have that.
klitschko has a deal in place with hbo for much longer than joshua has been with hbo. theres a reason guys like joshua andd brook dont sign with haymon

Anthony Joshua was literally just signed to a broadcast deal with Showtime, so what the **** are you talking about? Klitschko, unless there was some extension signed that no one anywhere mentioned, is under no obligation to fight on HBO.
Canelo Alvarez fights on HBO because he's signed an exclusive deal to fight on HBO; Bob Arum has no fighters at Alvarez's weight and literally has nowhere near the influence at HBO than he had even 2 years ago.
Showtime does a massive amount of business with Haymon and folks connected to Haymon, and Haymon has WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, Haymon has relationships that seems set to give any fight US TV, and Haymon has relationships that should help deliver 4 of the 15 challengers for Joshua's IBF heavyweight title.
compulsion not being necessary, Joshua's fight (regardless of opponent) is likely to be aired in the US on Showtime, with Haymon being able to offer his own handful of fights (to go along with the other fights that can be made) going forward.

i meant Canelo khan. if joshua fights klitschko it could be on hbo. we dont know yet. regardless its not a haymon fight. thats like saying because canelo fights on hbo hes tied to arum because his fighters are on hbo lolololol

Golden Boy didn't do Canelo vs Brook, so there goes that point. Kell Brook has had at least three fights on US TV, and HBO is now pondering bringing Brook back for fights with Cotto or Canelo (even with that, Eddie Hearn isn't going to hang up the phone if a fight that makes sense on Showtime opens up for Brook).
Joshua can fight Parker or Klitschko, or any other heavyweight on the planet, and the fight would still be aired in the US on Showtime (with Deontay Wilder and other heavyweight fighters tied to Haymon as options going forward).
HBO hasn't shown any interest in airing any of the fighters that you've listed; ignore the point if you want.i meant Canelo khan. if joshua fights klitschko it could be on hbo. we dont know yet. regardless its not a haymon fight. thats like saying because canelo fights on hbo hes tied to arum because his fighters are on hbo lolololol
what promoter has signed the most 2016 Olympians so far?
How many 2016 Olympians have been signed at this point, to begin with? 40 medals were handed out for boxing (and not all of those medalists are going to be turning pro).
Shakur Stevenson, Gary Antuanne Russell, Charles Conwell, Antonio Vargas and Nico Hernandez, on just the US team alone, have yet to sign with anyone (Carlos Balderas is a Mexican American fighter from Santa Maria, CA; he's likely going to sign with Oscar).
Move things to world amateur boxing, and look at the number of top amateurs, on the verge of turning pro, who have yet to sign with anyone.
nice try though
doesnt matter. any of those fighters can fight whoever they want. Joshua can fight Parker or Klitschko and Haymon doesn't have any say or benefit with it. Same with the rest.
That is like saying since GBP did the Canelo fight vs Brook that they somehow now have brook. SMH. All those guys have independent promoters and can fight guys like Lomachenko (which Rocky Martinez did through his promoter PRBB since Haymon had nothing for him). Huck just fought in Germany etc etc.
as for Matchroom, Hearn bashes Haymon every chance he can get for keeping DeGale and Selby on the shelf. Lets not pretend they have this great relationship lol.

Don King had just about as legendary a run as Arum did. Look where he is now.
Pacquiao, depending on how this self-produced show goes, is 1-3 fights away from being done. Terrence Crawford is a really good fighter, but doesn't have the type of aura to crossover into stardom, Lomachenko is in a similar boat, and the fighter that Arum has recently tried to hitch that wagon to (Verdejo) doesn't look like he has the straight-up boxing skill to be a top fighter.
Arum has Gilberto Ramirez (a 6'2, handsome, Mexican super middleweight, holding a world title at all of 25 years old, with the frame to make a run up over the next decade), so he's not dead yet, but to act as if folks are clamoring for Bob Arum is ridiculous.
what promoter has signed the most 2016 Olympians so far?
Anthony Joshua is signed with Matchroom Sport (who Haymon does regular business with) and also has a deal in place to have his fights aired in the US on Showtime (who do extensive business with Haymon); Haymon doesn't have any rights to Joshua, but it's not like he and Eddie Hearn can't discuss fights, especially with a Wilder-Joshua fight being the likely biggest money fight for Joshua in the US.
Stiverne, unless there's a story otherwise, left EoTM to be "advised" by Haymon. Huck left his old promoter, setting up shop for himself, but his exposure in the US is through Haymon. And, in nearly every other example, the fighter mentioned is signed to a promoter, who ends up doing significant business with Haymon or someone that does significant business with Haymon (Matchroom, DiBella, Showtime, etc).
Kell Brook is now in a position where HBO may be willing to put up the money to bring him over for Alvarez or Cotto, but who else of the names that you've mentioned has fought outside of the Haymon orbit on US TV (the chit that Haymon has focused on bringing to the table)? doesnt matter. any of those fighters can fight whoever they want. Joshua can fight Parker or Klitschko and Haymon doesn't have any say or benefit with it. Same with the rest.

:lol1::lol1:
Why be under the pbc umbrella, when you're already the most popular and famous promoter?
Seriously, you guys can't be this dumb, can you? Do you even know anything about TRs history and the amount of legendary fighters and fights they have promoted?

why do you list so many fighters who aren't with Haymon? Start from heavyweight and go down: Joshua, Stiverne, Huck, Bellew, Cleverly, Joe Smith Jr, Groves, Callum Smith, Lee, Khurtiside, Andrade, Brook, Ricky Burns, Provodnikov, Crolla, Shafikov, Quigg and McDowell are all not with Haymon. Any promoter can make fights with those guys smh.

those are low budget fs1 shows and 2 mid level spike cards. relax lol.
NBC is just going to have their two more fights they are owed so they can get that fat pbc check in jan/feb instead of nov/dec. Espn is doing the same next year. Just collecting that fat pbc $$ although this year pbc turned espn cards into fs1 level cards. No more Keith Thurmans and Leo Santa Cruz-Abner Mares level fights in 2016 on ESPN.
The only big fight cards this year will be on non pbc network Showtime who buys fights and isnt part of #freeboxingforall as was the former mantra of pbc
Stevenson-Alvarez needs to find a home, and Golovkin-Jacobs is literally less than a week away from going to purse bid. You add Broner-Burns (as long as Burns comes through his fight), Jack-Degale, Warren-McDonnell, Frampton-Santa Cruz II, and the other fights starting to trickle in (Thurman's mandatory defense, the IBF 147 title shot for Errol Spence Jr, Deontay Wilder getting back into camp, etc), I'd hold off a moment, lol.
No idea how many dates are left, but PBC still has dates for primetime NBC (with the rumor already being that NBC isn't going to be around after the completion on the initial deal) and ESPN, in addition to dates still set for FOX (and possibly CBS, but that seems to have been rolled into the existing Showtime relationship).
With FOX/FS1 and Showtime/CBS still quite interested in PBC (with the likelihood that ESPN probably ends up looking to lock in regular boxing cards for after football season; end of January through the end of August), let the play play out.
Showtime will definitely end up getting the fights that they want for their Winter schedule, but there are more than enough fights in the cue, especially as things start to look toward Jan/Feb 2017, to more than deliver for Showtime and still end up with good fights for the terrestrial PBC shows.
That was also true when Arum attempted to use the court system to destroy Haymon's 'business' by suing PBC under the Ali Act.
Had Arum had any vision beyond counting money from his next in-house fight, he would've positioned Top Rank to be the most popular and famous 'sham promoter' under the PBC umbrella. He passed on that 'business opportunity'.
What makes you think that Haymon (the 'business') gains anything by giving Top Rank's shrinking (in significance, influence and size) roster a lifeline now?
PBC has already broken Top Rank's back in 'business'. Personal or not, they don't need Arum.:lol1::lol1:

Quality and quantity. Here's a simple test; go to whatever ratings system that you trust, line up all of the weight classes, and compare the fighters with Haymon/in Haymon's orbit to the fighters with Arum.
ESPN has a boxing poll (take their editorial staff for what it is)
200lbs+: Wilder, Joshua, Stiverne
200lbs: Huck, Bellew, Glowacki
175lbs: Stevenson, Beterbiev, Alvarez, Cleverly, SmithJr
168lbs: DeGale, Jack, Dirrell, Dirrell, Groves, Smith, Bute
160lbs: Jacobs, Lee, Quillin, Khurtsidze
154lbs: Lara, Andrade, Charlo, Charlo, Trout, Martirosyan, Williams
147lbs: Thurman, Brook, Danny Garcia, Porter, Spence, Khan, Peterson
140lbs: Broner, Burns, MolinaJr, Provodnikov, Mikey Garcia
135lbs: Zlaticanin, Crolla, EasterJr, Barthelemy, Shafikov
130lbs: Pedraza, Martinez, Cherry
126lbs: Frampton, Santa Cruz, RussellJr, Selby, Mares, Cuellar
122lbs: Ruiz, Quigg, Guzman, Ceja
118lbs: Warren, McDonnell, Payano, Kameda
{{no real significance for Haymon at 115lbs or below}}
Haymon's not going to win every fight, but he's going to win more than he loses, in a world where Arum basically has no margin for error at any weight class.
Lomachenko, at 130lbs, is arguably the only fighter that Arum has that beats Haymon's top fighter at any weight class. nice try though

There are already at least 4 shows being looked at for November, with every interested party talking about the schedule filling in for December and into January/February 2017.
Don't run and hide when your doomsaying ends up being for not.
