Pac-Mania was at an all time high at the time of the Mosley fight in 2011. Pacquiao was considered a living legend- 8 division world champion, rankd the #1 fighter in the world P4P by most sporting websites, some even considering him one of the Greatest of all Time. Had dominant wins over Barrera, Morales, Diaz, Oscar Delahoya, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, Margarito, Mosley, etc.
People were actually comparing him to the likes of Ali, Leonard, and Robinson. Celebrities like Jessica Alba, Paris Hilton visiting him in camp. Hordes of people attending his concerts. Pac fans flooding the web claiming he could KO Prime Tyson. Everyone thought Floyd was scared of him. The idea of Pacquiao losing wasn't even a thought in most people's minds. Man..... I miss those days....
And then the 3rd Marquez fight happened and everything changed. He failed to beat Marquez convincingly, officially lost to Bradley, hasn't had a knockout since, got KO'ed by Marquez, and lost to Floyd. Wins over Rios and Algieri did nothing for his legacy. No more concerts, no more celebrities. Nike drops him. LGBT hates him and detractors criticize and laugh at him...... Dude is fighting Jesse Vargas next FFS and HBO won't even show it......
Don't get me wrong, Manny's still an ATG, the only 8-division champ in history and his WW run was legendary, but I truly believe that had Pacquiao retired after the Mosley fight, his status would be much greater, he'd still be considered on par with the likes of Ali and Robinson and most likely ranked above Floyd.
Everything that Pacquiao did after the 2011 Mosley fight has hurt his legacy and reputation little by little.
Thoughts?
Pac should fall a few spots down the ATG list. But you never know, the shills in the boxing media have always tried to downplay Pac's losses, losses that would significantly hurt anyone else's legacy.
Answer one simple question...Was his last opponent in his prime?
Not one bit.
You guys overrate the **** out of Bradley at WW.
Vargas another no hoper who youre pushing as prime.
Give up the 48 gimmick already. Without PEDs he really isnt all that.
It's very rare for any great athlete to retire when they feel they still have something to offer to their sport. If they were inclined to do so, they would never have become great in the first place.
The probability of #48 using PEDs to climb in weight without losing speed or power is too damn high! oh wait..he evened out riiiight as the PED accusations came along
So you skipped the part about Floyd being an admitted user of a banned method.... then tried to deflect with nothingness or should I say more probability. :lol1:
Sorry but even after the accusations he still knocked down people like Mosley who does not get easily knocked down. Knocks down the fireman Bradley a few times. Even after being tested Manny kept his power and speed. Its just that at WW, its harder for him to be knocking those bigger guys down.

Was it Bradley? I honestly don't remember. If so then, no. Bradley has been on the decline for some time. Too many wars and blowing up in between fights wore on him.
NO.
Beating Bradley convincingly 3 TIMES alone ups his stock and greatness in my book.
WHat pacman is able to do at his age is impressive and enhances his legacy
Manny is still beating prime guys. He has a lot of options right now. Lets see how he does with his next fight. There are still big paydays and big fights for him to get into. Especially if the promoters get along and make a fight happen.
He is not fighting prime guys.Stop. He barely fought prime guys in his own prime, now you expect us to believe he is fighting prime guys when he is on his way out?
You are going on "probably" but have 0 evidence whereas Floyd admitted to using a banned method. He just had friends at USADA to bail him out because there is no way that he should have been allowed to use an IV just before giving a urine sample.

Considering he was probably on PEDs for that run, No. It was necessary for him to be brought back down to earth (KO'd) and the truth about his character to come out.

Yeah, but the Bradley 2 win is still arguably one of his best.
It's hard for fighters to retire at the top. Why would Manny have retired still practically in his prime in 2011?
His only mistakes were fighting JMM 2 more times for no apparent reasons. 1m+ PPV buys each, but logically, no reason.
I think he could have retired, but he wanted the money. JMM KTFO 6 and seeing him not moving for almost three min was scary. PAC fights for the cash, and his country.
