According to Alexander Krasiuk, Oleksandr Usyk manager, new WBO cruiser champ already received offer to fight on HBO, in US. #boxing
Hopefully that's the case and we get more fights next year.
Apparently they cut their budget down this year so that's probably why it's low now. We'll see what happens next year. Let's see if they cut their budget again.
They already said their budget for the rest of the year is low. So that might be one of the reasons? If they lower their budget next year then you can say they're taking a step back from boxing. But if they were taking a step back this year from boxing then their budget would have plenty of money left cause that would mean they aren't showing as many fights.

No I don't think they're really done with boxing but they're taking a big step back.

Do you seriously believe that? Where does HBO say this?
I don't think it really matters. When GGG and Kovalev started fighting on HBO they were getting paid peanuts. Could be the same in Usyk's case.

Doubt it, HBOs about done with boxing and Usyk doesn't bring money.

How HBO broke tho?

On the positive side: dude is good and this brings exposure to a really good division should HBO use his undercards to showcase future competitors
Negative side: crusier isn't popular in the US because the best guys are not American so casual fans likely will not tune in.
hopefully, he doesn't sign a network deal just a one fight deal. I don't want an HBO deal messing up who he can fight.
