So will Canelo vacate as he normally does when he senses danger?

Saul “Canelo” Alvarez is the new WBO junior middleweight champion after beating Liam Smith last Saturday night, but he’s now got a BIG problem staring him in the face with Demeitrus Andrade as his new WBO mandatory challenger at 154. Canelo is in a bind. If he stays at 154 to defend his WBO title, he’ll need to fight the 6’1” southpaw Andrade (23-0, 16 KOs) in his first defense, and that could prove to be a more difficult fight than any previous match in the 26-year-old Canelo’s career.
I watched it, I think everyone here knows im one of the few that actually watch almost all the fights that take place.
You really think that was a close fight?
Canelo will avoid him too. They will come with some excuse that they will not be forced to fight any one or vacate due to injury (which a boxer with his stature no sanctioning body would make them vacate)
So will Canelo vacate as he normally does when he senses danger?

you dont want any more canelo fights at 154, that will delay the ggg fight from next year, canelo needs to fight MW fighters(1 or 2) in order to prepare for GGG... so maybe january-february at 157-158 and may at 160...
if you really want the ggg fight you shouldnt be asking for this, instead go into gggs twitter and ask him to accept canelos offer....
Canelo can't make that weight anymore. If he has a tough fight with someone who pushes the pace, he'll be gassed by the 6th. When you have to get naked to make weight...your time is up in that division. Ask erik morales.
Even if Canelo was to stay at 154, it may not be a fight he'd jump at. What with having a possible massive fight with GGG on the 'horizon'.
I'm not sure GB would want to risk jeopardizing things in a high risk/low reward kind of fight.
I like Andrade and rate him highly. However i would pick Canelo to win that fight.
Andrade is on record saying he doesn't want to fight Lara, but people would prefer to speculate negatively about Canelo :lol1:
So many idiots in this thread forgot that Andrade said this
Also isn't he dropping his mando by fighting culcay
It'll be a while before we know everything. Despite Canelo signaling his intentions to move off 154, he will sit on this title for a while before deciding to vacate it. He will want it on his resume without the burden of having to defend it.
We know what the result will be, we just have to waste a lot of time to get there.

Love the contradiction between not wanting to fight lara and 'letting the fans know that I’m willing to get in there with anybody'
Im not willing to fight this guy so that people know Im willing to fight anyone
What an idiot wow. PAC fought Marquez, Morales, Barrera at 130. After one fight at 135 got a life changing offer from Oscar to go to welter. Then dropped down to smash consensus #1 Lww.
Exactly what I said, but in double speak.
Those were rematches, and only 1 was warranted. The others were too late and cash grabs, just like Canelos trying to do.
Dont be a hypocrite man. It was OK when 48 was doing this **** but not when Canelo does? At least be consistent.
48 ran from 130, 135 and 140 just like Canelo is running from Andrade to chase Daniel Geale. Or chase Kell Brook at a catchweight like #48 when he went after Hatton right after getting KTFO. Chasing them KO victims isnt champion quality.
For the record, im not advocating Canelo or 48s actions. I think theyre both wrong for trying to fool the public.

'“I don’t know. That’s the last resort.” he said.
“He won’t engage or try and make the fight entertaining, especially if it’s coming into my favor,” Andrade explained. “He’s just going to survive, try to run, try to do the little pitty-pat counter punches. I’m not about that right now. I’m about sitting in there, doing what I need to do best, and letting the fans know that I’m willing to get in there with anybody and put on a show and make ends meet.”
Interestingly, while Andrade doesn’t want the WBA “super” titleholder in Lara, he would be OK with facing the secondary titleholder, Jack Culcay, who holds the sanctioning body’s “regular" belt. Andrade doesn’t know much about Culcay.
Same thing #48 did at 130 and 135 and 140. Fight a weak champ, move up in weight to fight another weak champ and leave all the stiff challenges behind.
I can see it already. Anytime he has to fight a real MW - he needs a catchweight because he's not a real MW. Anytime he is calling out a smaller fighter, as he has already done, it needs to be at the full 160 limit.
Dont be surprised if they go after Kell Brook either. After all, he is a name coming off a TKO loss and technically undefeated in his own weight class.

He already mentioned that Smith was probably his "last" fight at 154. He's 1 step ahead of everyone. Lol
Yeah, no way they **** with Andrade. He brings no money and he puts a severe beating on Canelo imo.
I agree with both
