The man literally refused to fold....
I don't think it was granite. It just "looked" granite because he barely took any shots that were flush and you also have to consider his conditioning. But when he did get hit flush he got hurt. ie the gifs you posted.
Retrospect is a big word for you Larry, congrats.
But, in retrospect, Floyd's chin didn't get hit that much because under pressure he either hugged, ran or leaned back over the ropes.
When he did get properly tagged he did the chicken dance or hung on for dear life.
If by "chicken dance" you mean he got his legs wobbled he did that 4 times in his career. Pacqauio, Mosley, Maidana Corley.
Castillo, Chavez, Hatton, Judah, Oscar, Ortiz, Cotto, Canelo can all punch and all hit him clean, some of the above numerous times and didn't wobble him once.
So to say every time he was properly tagged he hung on for dear life is just a ridiculous claim.
He didn't get hit with enough big shots (thanks to his impeccable defense) for us to really say his chin was made of granite stone. Anyone who truly thinks 95% of boxers would have even been knocked down let alone knocked out from the shots he took in those gifs is a retard or a Floyd nuthugger (is there a difference?)
His chin is average. He does well to roll things but in the words of Juan Manuel Marquez, when he gets hit clean he wobbles. Cotto took numerous of the same punch from a healthier, younger Mosley, and Maidana isn't that big of a puncher.
Verdict: average chin, great defence.
Maidana hit him with the same exact punch in the first fight. Just as square. Just got less recognition for it. Round 10 I believe.
Cool, I'm a try and find it
I haven't watched the first one in a bit but I don't recall that, just remember Maidana winning the first half and almost getting shut out in the second half by Mayweather standards though a close fight
Don't know how anyone can think Maidana isn't the man
He clearly has a really good chin and really good recovering abilities.
To
Me Floyd had a sub par chin. It wasn't glass but no way was it granite. Floyds reflexes (as another poster stated) and his defensive skills is what made him seem like he had a granite chin. I've never seen anyone with floyds recovery skills I'll give him that

It's both homie. Floyd has a granite chin, but he also is that type of competitor that doesn't even consider losing. That's why he became so good, that partly comes from his dedication and love for the sport. It isn't enough to want to never lose, you have to be good enough to make it reality, and he did.
WAR MAYWEATHER!!
Under rated and doesn't get enough credit in both those aspects, don't know if I'd say granite because he never got hit enough to truely test it
That shot he took from Maidana & Mosely were sick and he ate em and didn't miss a beat , Would have been interesting if the Maidana shot didn't happen at the end of the round ( I think Inwatched that punch like 50 times just rewinding IT over and over again.
Mentally Fliyd was probably the strongest in the game

GGG and Canelo getting all the shine so larrold comes out with another mayweather c0ck riding thread
Then he is the first one to cry to leave him alone because he is retired
On topic name another fighter with a "granite" chin that would have buckled on a Marcos fawking maidana punch or a past prime mosely? It's ok I'll wait
In retrospect, Floyd tries to get the advantages before he steps in that ring. Then his fans do not bring up that disclaimer.

granite chin HELL NO his chin is decent he can take a punch but he can be hurt his defense makes up for his ok chin . He has been very lucky every time he has been hurt
He's taken some really sharp punches and most people dont look close enough or rewind his fights to see that he's brushed off big punches from big punchers and kept moving. I remember the Diego fight, i think he might've gotten hit to the body but he makes up his face like he got stabbed and like a half a second later he goes back to attack mode. Even when Sharmba Mitchell caught him with two good punches, two of the cleanest punches I think he's ever taken he just brushed them off.
Retrospect is a big word for you Larry, congrats.

Every time he was ever hurt or wobbled, he did exactly what naziim Richardson said he would do. He grew a tail and started breathing fire.
When hurt he didn't change one bit, he kept focus and kept winning
Exactly what I was thinking. A Prime Mosley would've plastered Floyd if they ever fought historically.
Prime floyd would **** mosley up.
Mosley doesn't do good with boxers.
Shane only plasters mexicans
1) Rarely got hit.
2) Had the reflexes to see it and absorb it at impact.
3) Had a damn good chin.
^^^summed it up...he got hit, but he definitely didn't take a bunch of heavy clean shots
his coordination and awareness is off the charts
I wouldn't say granite chin but it must at least have been very solid.
I think more so he had a strong will to win and unrivaled discipline. A very high percentage of fighters would have touched the canvas after getting buckled as bad as he did from that 2nd big shot from Mosley.
