I swear I have seen the sparring footage myself years ago and triple G was pretty much picking Canelo apart. I know Canelo was young and still green but that has to somewhat weigh on a fighters mind getting outworked & popped liked that. Does anyone know what has happened to this footage and why it was taken down?
Canelo-GGG video doesn't exist. Someone would've posted it on here or ESB all the years I've been posting online but no one did, because it doesn't exist.
I can't even find a thread about someone discussing the video.
Seriously? I'm supposed to have stopped posting in this place, but I'm not sure I can stand the lack of info here. There was footage, on YouTube.
Did no one on here view it, for real? Or are you all joking around?
Both the Chavez/GGG and the Canelo/GGG sparring sessions were on YouTube for at least a year. Actually, I'm surprised no one saved them, if they were indeed taken down.
I suspected this much would happen, eventually, but I never imagined that not one person would take the time to at least save it. O_O
The fighter I root for is Cotto, so I never bothered, personally.
Anyway, if this isn't some big trolling joke or something, I'll give you all a brief overview, from what I remember:
The Chavez/GGG session was mostly controlled by GGG, in what I would consider dominating fashion. It wasn't anything out of this world, but GGG was in a clear lead.
As for Canelo/GGG, the fight was more even, at least compared to Chavez, but GGG still got the better of it. Nothing dramatic, really, either.
At the end of the day, it's merely sparring, and a lot of time has passed since, but the takeaway here is that GGG got the better of them.
BTW, I don't root for GGG, and I disagree with people who say Cotto ducked him. I still believe Cotto beats GGG, so that'll tell you how much I care about making GGG look good. The man has fought no one, whether it's his fault or not. And no way would anyone, let alone Cotto, turn down 30 million dollars to make the biggest fight in boxing just to fight GGG instead.
Canelo ducked but not Cotto. Cotto simply wanted the biggest fight in boxing, and that wasn't GGG.
It's clear that with the drama going on between Canelo/GGG, Golden Boy found a way to convince the uploader to get rid of it, but I'm astonished that NO ONE here saw it. O_O
I thought those sparring sessions were pretty much common knowledge that everyone ignored because of the time passed since.
I am going to put myself out there to be insulted because this person and others are not in any way lying or crazy and I feel bad for them.
The footage used to be really easy to find and I noticed a year or maybe longer ago while trying to show the footage to my Fiance, saying "If it never happens you can at'least sorta see a sample" or some **** like that only to look, look and look before the thought crossed me that the video had been purged from almost anywhere(that I could find) online.. from what I remember Golovkin was handling a decent Canelo, but I do not remember if I could even visibly see through the ****ty footage to tell if Saul was ever visibly stunned but it has been a long while.
Anyways to me this fight comes down to movement and I don't think Saul has the movement to get away and present Gennady problems(though maybe his hand speed can cause some fits), he and Jacobs are far apart in that department, I was also at MSG for the Golovkin Jacobs bout, good times.
I can find Mosley/GGG and Chavez Jr/GGG online easily. Yet you can't even find an article written about the GGG/Canelo sparring video.
Why would someone write an article about the sparring video years after the article that the video is from was released?
Are there articles about the Mosley vs GGG sparring? Probably not. Because it was just sparring. Mosley got the better of the session, btw.
Maybe it was never on youtube, maybe I saw the video up in bigbear, but I swear I remember it. Canelo was in a green shirt. The video that I saw was only 2 or 3 rounds, not the full number they sparred.
You are dead-set one of the most moronic people I have ever talked to.
I don't even care if there is footage of any of this, I have zero interest in this. I am merely stating that the presence of one thing does not automatically exclude the presence of another. They can be mutually exclusive, going back to the original point you tried making that I blew up the chute - an abundance of written material supporting video footage. I am gobsmacked that you can't see through all of your own talk to see this.
Once again, to get this through your head - I do not care about the existence of a certain piece of footage. I am merely countering your assertion that for one thing to be there, the other cannot follow. It is possible for two things to exist in any circumstance side-by-side.
Just so we're clear, for the third and final time, I am taking apart your idiotic, single-eyed view that words can't exist alongside video. I sincerely hope for your sake, three times is enough to get it through your noggin'.
No more, no less. If you do not understand this point, let it go.
Should you choose not to address this directly, do not bother replying. I've already bombed on you once before (care to acknowledge that, or continue pretending it didn't happen?), I have no interest in continuing this further.
Do not reply to me, I have already wasted enough of my time on you. Should you decide to talk a little more smack or try and raise your fists like a fighter who prays the judges didn't see him lose 10 rounds to 2, I will not see it.
Go.
You didn't refute anything I said.... Show me written articles detailing round by round action of sparring matches where the video footage is readily available. You can't do it so why are you still talking?
Now you suddenly don't know if the footage exists??
First you compared a sparring match to real fights and football matches that actually go on record and then you compared boxing to music. You aren't very bright. You're rather daft.
Once again I will spell it out for you, Why do we have an article dedicated to detailing the round by round action of a ultimately meaningless sparring match if the video was available?
No one said there can't be written words alongside video evidence, that was never my point, but in this case for a freaking sparring match?? (Not a real fight, not a regular season nfl game or nirvanas first concert or whatever retarded and unrelated example you gave)....why was this article written for this particular spar?? ..... Why do we have an article trying to go into as much detail about what happened each round. I have asked you to find me similar articles for other sparring matches that have been recorded for all to see. You are clearly unable to do this. You want to "bomb me out" then provide evidence I claim doesn't exist, don't make a point I never argued against.
Please stick to the topic of sparring in boxing, another thing you seem unable to do.
You have dragged me through many different and meaningless points, I have always been talking about sparring with every point made. If what I was saying was as ridiculous as you claim then other posters would have picked up on it, to me it seems you're the only one that doesn't understand that we are talking in context about sparring and articles and videos of SPARRING.
So you're telling me it wasn't a big deal yet Sanchez only called a certain number of people to come watch the session. No video allowed only still pictures. But it wasn't a big deal? Fischer wrote an article about it but it wasn't a big deal? In the article he stated he hated making the drive to big bear but wouldn't miss those one but it wasn't a big deal? The reason everyone refers to that article is because there is no footage. Anytime that session is talked about people refer to that article. If there was video people would mention seeing the video but they don't.
EVERY sparring session in big bear is recorded. They have a camera mounted on the wall for recording every sparring session. If you go up there, you can watch lots of good sparring.
Some of the sparring sessions get leaked from the gym onto youtube. The Canelo vs GGG session was one of them, just like the GGG vs Mosley session.
The GGG vs Chavez Jr, was filmed at the WildCard.
If it was on youtube last year everybody and their mama would have the video. That video is one of the most wanted videos. It's up there with the kovalev v. Boone first fight.
Like I said, if you dont want to ****ing believe me you can kiss my ****ing ass! I know what the **** I saw
It should be easy to find just google it and it should pop up
site: www.(whatever site you want to search).com Canelo and GGG sparring video
You said you saw it on Youtube in March of this year. You're delusional
No dude. I saw the **** last year. Around the time that they were first talking about Canelo and Cotto. I dont owe you no ****ing explanation. I dont have to prove **** I saw. Youre not a ****ing judge and Im not in ****ing trial. One dude already gave you a link to some comments where somebody said they saw the **** too. Just because you didnt see it doesn't mean it doesn't exist and was taken down. Im done ****ing talking about this **** and being accused of being a ****ing liar. **** that ****
Where and when? I've known about this sparring since it happened and never once heard about a video being out there. Only read the interviews of accounts of people who witnessed it.
Anyways, with all the crazy I hate Golovkin/Canelo going on in this forum, I think a lot of people have forgotten how awesome of a fight this would be. Golovkin would force Canelo into a real fight and Canelo is a good counter puncher, it would be a war for however long it lasts.
Truth^. Beyond the obnoxious claims about who is shook and who would destroy the other, lies a very intriguing fight.
I don't think for one second that it would be a pressure fight though. I think it would be a bit more cautious (not far off from Canelo/Cotto) with Canelo knowing how imperative it would be not to let GGG trap him and Golovkin being fully aware that Cenelo could drop him with a counter or trap if GGG lets his guard slip.
People thinking that GG would treat Canelo like previous opponents, or that Canelo would act like any of them, are wildly mistaken.
I've seen a video of the spar too. I haven't been able to find it since.
No you haven't. You, me, and the several other posters that have claimed to see the same thing were all tripping on some good drugs and thought we saw something that wasn't there. It was a mirage, an illusion, some type of magic that overcame us and caused us all to hallucinate.
there was video of golovking talking about canelo after that sparring session, he said that a very young canelo was the best fighter he ever shared a ring with it...
My point was that people wouldn't be using a play by play article of the sparring session of the footage was readily available. That article gets recycled A LOT.... you know why??? Because the video footage is no where to be found..... Do you get it now?
.

Go.
A fighter's KO percentage and his apparent dominance in the ring against certain fighters means virtually nothing. George Foreman was considered the same type of beast that Golovkin was today. Yet, we all know what happened to him when he met Muhammad Ali. A few years ago, a lot of fans and biased boxing talking heads like Brian Kenny and Larry Merchant, thought that Ricky Hatton would walk through Floyd Mayweather because Hatton was such a beast and was knocking everyone out. They said the same thing about Diego Corrales. We all know how those fights turned out.
Even though Alvarez had fought somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 fights at the time of this sparring session, he may as well have had five fights under his belt because he had fought 40 D-level fighters. Therefore, his performance in this sparring session means basically nothing. Also, even though Golovkin, according to the hype, walked through Alvarez in this sparring session, he didn't walk through Kassim Ouma in their fight. So, a performance in a sparring session means absolutely nothing.
I am not making excuses for Alvarez. I think Alvarez has been protected his entire career by his promoter, the sanctioning bodies and the judges. I do think he has improved since he fought Floyd Mayweather, not because he is such a good fighter, but because he has finally started fighting quality competition, and therefore, is a better fighter out of necessity. At the same time, I think Golovkin is not as good as his hype.
To sum it up, I would say that if Golovkin/Alvarez ever took place, it would be a 50/50 fight.
There are NUMEROUS blogs and updates of Spring Training, Mini-Camps etc, to go alongside footage of these events. Anyone who knows what Google is, can find it. So your theory is shot to bits.
You're giving absolutely ridiculous logic as to why someone wouldn't do something. Just face it dude, it is actually - shock fkn horror - possible for someone to film something, AND for it to be written about.
Hell, I can spend less than 2 minutes of my time finding write-ups and bootleg footage of Metallica before they got big. Yep, there we go, footage AND a write-up.
I know, what a crazy fkn world we live in. TWO ways to document an event? Amazing.
You're digging a hole too big to get out of kid. Go away.
You're comparing music to boxing and I'm the one that needs to go away...
My point was that people wouldn't be using a play by play article of the sparring session of the footage was readily available. That article gets recycled A LOT.... you know why??? Because the video footage is no where to be found..... Do you get it now?
If you can't see the point I am making then stop responding. I feel Like I'm losing brain cells explaining this to you.
Why document a sparring session by written article if the video is available?
Please find me a round by round documentation article of GGG vs Chavez Jr sparring.... The video is everywhere so you find me the article.
