All that really matters is if you make them the same size, Mayweather would counter GGG to death, both in their prime. If different size, and in this day, the advantage Mayweather would have is he could see GGG's punches coming and if he used an air-tight defense and foot movement, it is possible. But the size and power could be too much and it is not even right to ask or expect a 39 year old Mayweather to face him.
Pretty much this in a nutshell.
You act like Brook made GGG swing air all night. Yeah just ignore the fact that Brook was absolutely spent trying to fend off GGG for 4 rounds. Just ignore how he had to throw mean combinations to halt GGG's forward momentum. Floyd has brittle hands, doesn't hit hard enough and doesn't throw combinations.
Floyd can duck and run but at some point he will have to throw to score. GGG would just walk him down and batter him. It wouldn't be a boxing match because GGG wouldn't let it and Floyd would be too small to do something about it.
I totally disagree with you. FMJ is not a dumb boxer. He didn't get to where he did as a boxer by fighting his opponent's type of fight especially as he got older. Moving all night makes you tired but swinging and missing all night zaps your energy twice as fast. As long as Fmj stays off the ropes and does not allow GGG to set his feet, there's no way for GGG to load up and get off his power shots. Again, as long as FMJ keeps GGG moving and missing, FMJ is in control and boxing takes over , slugging is nulified. GGG can walk through FMJ's shots and have no respect for his punches but if FMJ is not there to be hit in return, where does that leave GGG? Tired and gassed. FMJ would never try to stand in front of GGG and trade shots. FMJ does not care how his performance is received by the crowd he only cares to get the win. Brittle hands or not, FMJ is not going to allow GGG to get off on him, but he will pop GGG just enough to throw him off his rhythm.
We can argue opinions forever on this but this fight is never going to happen.
Feel free to respond but I won't be after this.
Just as easily as when he defeated Canelo, yes.
you have lost your dam* mind. Floyd thorws one punch like every 30 seconds and can't punch hard enough to keep Maidana off. How is he going to keep a guy who is way bigger than Maidana and more skilled . Get ga grip you don't know crap about boxing. Mayweather got a lot of decisions by defense , but against a guy like GGG he wouldn't be able to hold him off. Pot shotting doesn't beat huge guys like that. If Brook couldn't hurt GGG , what makes you think a guy who started at 130 could. ?
No. Floyd is too small and GGG would eventually be a more aggressive version of what Maidana and Castillo was. He'd hurt/stun Floyd every other round or knock him out late. Power, size, and strength. I also think people underestimate what GGG sets his opponents up for. Those body punches are no joke.
Judging GGG from this current fight is going to give future opponents a rude awakening.
Just as easily as when he defeated Canelo, yes.
lol No. Golovkin is more destructive than Canelo, and he wouldn't stand there like an idiot and try to outbox a master boxer like Canelita did. He would go all in and try to fu*k Mayweather up.
A bigger version of Pacquiao beats GGG easier than a bigger version of Mayweather for me.
I can just see him blitzing Golovkin with combo's and turning him constantly
As it is, both are way too small
Agreed, whilst watching on saturday i was thinking about a prime Pac in his southpaw stances but bigger.

If Mayweather was just a bit bigger, he gives GGG fits when the fight is in the centre of the ring. Lots of the tactics Brook was using, Mayweather uses but to a much higher level. He certainly wont be hit with clean jabs as easily as Brook was
Big problem for Floyd, and its a problem matching him with any great pressure fighter, is that he goes to the ropes too easily. Especially against guys who outweigh him.
Golovkin has a field day on the ropes. Floyds defence is excellent, but those punches are hurting whether they are landed on gloves, shoulders or anything really.
It would still be hard for Mayweather to beat that version that we saw on saturday night, i could see Mayweather movements troubling GGG definitely, the only problem is GGG would be troubled with the right hand or jab coming at him from Mayweather, But if the fight happens at 154 and we see the same GGG that we saw last night then Mayweather definitely wins IMHO.
You never heard about the Pacquiao gloves situation because you also don't know sh1t about the real story behind Maidana gloves. They were Everlast MX gloves. It was well covered. Mayweather just didn't want Maidana to use punchers gloves, PERIOD. I won't lose more time on you. Maidana did not cheat.

Floyd would be underdog and because he didnt take the challenge, history assumes GGG stops FLoyd like he did Brook, whilst not looking particularly good while doing it. Floyd might land upercuts and stuff on GGG like Brook did. People will say Floyd made GGG look clumsy at times.
But the fight ends with GGGs hand raised in victory. Brook would beat Floyd as well at 160 and possibly at 154
He tried to use gloves with no padding at first and these were NOT approved by the commission.
Never head about that Pacquiao glove situation, but still he was allowed to wear the gloves he wanted.

Floyd would only lose if he went up a weight class too far.
160 is definitely too far. It would look silly. And GGG would smash him to pieces.
No way should Floyd fight him anyway. Those sort of fights aren't good for boxing imo.
At 160 Floyd has next to no chance against GGG. I believe Floyd in his prime would certainly be competitive with GGG but ultimately GGG would over power him and may even stop him. With that said, I think Floyd would certainly have a chance in that fight if it was fought at a catchweight. If Floyd could get GGG to drain himself to 154 or even as low as 152, like the Canelo fight, GGG would be severely drained and weakened.
At 160 GGG beats Floyd but at 154 or even 152 I'm not so sure.
Well said. In the unlikely event that Floyd would even get in the ring wth GGG it would have to be under Mayweather conditions. Floyd is not comfortable with GGG style. We saw a glimpse of that with Maidana. Huge difference between the abilities of GGG over Maidana. One can never really bet against Mayweather due to his talent and ring IQ. Still at 160 GGG would give him fits but it's just a fantasy matchup. Floyd would never agree to it. Unfortunate because making GGG is 50th win would be an epic event for him and boxing.
Nope, floyd wanted nothing to do with GGG even at 154. he wouldn't have a hope in hell at 160. But of course his fans will still say he could beat him. At 154 it would be an interesting fight at 160 floyd gets obliterated and even his fans secretly know as much.

Even prime Floyd would get knocked out. Brook is bigger and stronger than Floyd and Golovkin didn't show much respect for Brook's power. Mayweather isn't used to someone pressuring him with no regard for his punches. Golovkin isn't Maidana or Castillo.
Naah no chance in hell.
I mean, Bayless, Nevada judges can create fake score cards to make him win but the thing is when GGG finds his mark it's over. No Nevada judges fakes Floyd win since it will be lights out for sure. No chance in hell does the Nevada judges save him with a fake score card since it won't reach the end of 12 lmao
and if this happens it will be more like another running hugging marathon bore contest for 11 rounds, were in GGG nails him eventually in the 12th round with a big one when GGG finally catches him from all that chasing. It will take time for GGG to get him from all that running, but once he does. Bam! Floyd's eye socket is disconnected for the remainder of his life. The 12th round will be the only exciting round lol
# if Maidana can do this to Floyd. GGG will put him to the grave lol

Nobody knows how GGG would react after swinging at air for 5-6 rounds while getting jabbed and clinched on the inside, how frustrated would he be? Would he have enough stamina in the later rounds? have we ever seen him in there against a guy like Floyd? all these are questions that are open. I'm talking about a prime Floyd at that, not the 37-39 year old version.
