I do think that it was a bone headed strategy for Golovkin to turn it into a street fight from the bell and open himself up to being tagged. And I don't disagree that Brook outboxed him. He's faster he has good skills. But the problem is that even if you outbox this guy you can't beat him. You can't hurt the MFer and he's just going to bust you up. Who is going to want this now?
Bad strategy IMO.
Fight is on YouTube. Go watch first round again.
And absolutely no one cares about what you think is dumb. Your ego eclipses the sun, in your mind Steve Jobs stole your ideas and Einstein took too long to come up with theory of relativity.
I already did see it 3 times. :lol1:
But you're right doe. GGG was just chasing him and throwing the kitchen sink NOT to get a stoppage.
Your theory makes more sense.
Lol yeah sure he could :lol1:
He went for Brook in the 1st and hurt him then immediately started to get countered.
This whole thing about GGG giving Brook time to recover is the dumbest thing I've ever read. It's literally fuking dumb.
Make no mistake, GGG wanted a 1st round KO.

GGG did look frustrated at times in the fight. He got more aggressive and i think it was the end of the second round where he threw a punch after the bell, looked to be out of frustration. Paulie Malignaggi made a point that GGG doesnt move his head often which Brook to advantage of.
I think he looked bad, but it was his plan to turn it into a street fight. I completely disagree with the guys who say he tried to box and failed. He never tried. He could have jabbed the whole fight and dismantled brook like he did DL.
Also, Ill watch the replay tomorrow but I swear he literally went down 2 gears in the first after he wobbled brook. He started moving really slow to give brook time to recover. Don't think he expected the onslaught in the 2nd though.
He looked bad. Let's hope everyone else want to fight him now. That wasn't the Golovkin I know in that fight.

OK, Andre Rozier called me( the trainer of Jacobs), after watching that, yeah, they absolutely want GGG next... #boxing— Steve Kim (@steveucnlive) September 10, 2016
Would be nice. But it doesnt look like its gonna happen.

Brook is a world class fighter. MW or not, As long as he was in the fight, he was always going to have flashes of good work because he's excellent. Golovkin was too much for him in the end as most expected but let's not play down Kell Brook. A man of that talent will have his moment in fights.

A lot of pretending going on here. Pretending that GGG had a bad strategy or did something unusual. He tried boxing and working the jabs form the onset but Brook started outboxing him and actually hurt him in the 2nd, after which GG started pressuring, which won him the fight. If he would have kept trying to box it might have gone badly so he did the right thing.
Also, it's not like Kell did anything great. He looked good for a couple rounds but couldn't even last through 5 full rounds.
I still think GG should go after the belts at 168. I'm not longer as confident that it will be an easy run for him but as long as Ward's not there, GG should do pretty well at 168 and not have to do the joke fights.
^^^^^^^^ good fighter but overrated on this board.

The problem is that fighters see a different fight than fans do. This fight hurts him. Kell Brook brought speed and skills that one brought before and it didn't make a difference. It takes that away as a means to beat this guy. That was still out there. It's gone now.
he really did not have a choice since brook was most effective from the outside, even then GGG was just as good but you dont want a close competittive fight in your opponents backyard
