Ok apart from the obvious he's moved up. . . But there are videos with other trainers on the Yoobletooble that he's put on too much too sooon. . . . Sooo, does anyone have any ideas or theories as why what Brook's plan is with all this? Do you think he wants to be able to clinch with GGG? Which would be a mistake either way IMO, Or is he gonna shred that body buildingesque muscle to leave lean muscle on fight night? I dunnooo, What ya'll got?
Callum Smith is 6'3 though, nevermind that he's a massive super middleweight.
the work wouldn't do anything to replicate the needed look
He is yes, but It's probably fair to assume GGG hits as hard as him hehehe In for a penny in for a pound
Interesting thoughts, could be true yes. But the choice of sparring partners seems odd. They had Liam Smith (Obviously Liam has a fight coming up too so they probably helped eachother out) when I think Callum Smith is a better replicant of GGG (well between those two atleast) . . . Hooks to the body that you don't see. even slightly similar in frame. I was against this fight for a while, still am inna small sort of way, but just gonna enjoy it now for the spectacle that it is. I am a fan of boxing at the end of the day, and this is one of the biggest fights of the year for us UK folks so might aswell enjoy it.

He's just a big guy who's slowly losing weight to make people think that this isn't as big a weight difference. I don't doubt he's a big guy who struggles to make WW, but him coming in heavy for each weigh in doesn't convince me of anything. He's just gradually losing weight
It seems to me that team Brook is sending the message that they are looking for an early round knockout with all the added weight and muscles. It appears they expect GGG to come right after them and they are saying that they are more than willing to oblige him.
Just my two cents, Golovkin's not a one-punch KO guy at 160lbs, and Kell Brook and his camp seem to understand this; Golovkin gets the refs to step in by having a guy stand in front of him and unloading shots for 7-10 rounds.
I personally think he went a bit far with the bulking up, but my guess is that his camp figured that, if they can get Brook sturdy enough to deal with the wear of taking shots from a middleweight (who isn't this murderous puncher), Brook's boxing ability will show through and he'll have the chance to win the fight (put a guy who moves in front of Golovkin, and he looks terrible).
For all the talk of Brook avoiding the clinch with Golovkin, Golovkin doesn't even really fight on the inside anyway; let him sit at mid-range and he looks like a friggin legend.

he is on a program backed by science using cutting edge training techniques to ensure he puts on lean muscle mass whilst retaining the explosiveness and speed that made him such a feared fighter at 147. I saw the exercises on behind the ropes, hes been doing a lot of speed work.
I'm a fan of Kell Brook but... I laughed. :lol1:
Who the fk feared him? Besides Khan. And Khan's fear wasn't of Brook himself but scared of getting humiliated in his home country by one of his own countryman.

Actually Brook need to get GGG in a clinch, Brook is very good at that too. Leaving GGG at mid range would give him a chance to stretch his arm for his power punches.

But there is a huge problem - he is he is now cutting weight because he was at 167 a week before the fight which is absurd for a guy who moved up 2 divisions! The LAST thing a welterweight should be doing is cutting weight to make 160!!! That is ridiculous.
It's odd isn't it. I mean sureeely the sensible thing would be to be cutting 1/2 lbs at the very most. If at all, maybe even coming in an lbs under? Who knowws what's going on though?

The fighters and coaches that say Brook is too small and not a natural MW don't know about strength and conditioning? The guys at the university can't perform miracles.
All the coaches that have trained with him say the opposite.
Molina's trainer says Kell was walking around at 185
Who knows what his plans are, saw him sleeping in warm water the other day. It all looks amateurish to be honest, with his fitness coach Danny Wilson talking about getting his muscle relax etc, hope all that science would help in the ring. Science or not science he needs to avoid taking too many hard punches from a genuine MW. Taking a punch from a WW and now MW is a whole different ball game.
Yes that's a good point. Brook's done so many new things to make this fight (science related). GGG just been in Big Bear as usual. Is all this science going to help. There's a little hint of Rocky vs Drago going on here. Except Brook is Drago in training. GGG Drago in the ring. lol

There are a couple interviews out there from Kell and his trainer where they talk about it. They work together with strength and conidtion specialists and also with an english university that is specialized on that kind of stuff, gaining weight naturally and stay at your optimal weight during different time intervals, turning into muscles and so on.
The vids are on IFL Youtube channel i think.
do you have actual statistics to back that up instead of the all too common eye test???
cuz that's what my eye test tells me, they are both the same. haven seen their actual nfl combine stats, but im willing to bet they are not that far off.
basically the same size. im hoping you do the research cuz im lazy right now.

there are no theories.
kell brook drains his body to 147lbs.
its not a natural weight for his body type.
160lbs is more of a natural division for brook.
just look at their side by side photo comparison of GGG and brook during this promotion.
they are basically the same size.
this is a common theme in boxing due to 24 hr rehydration. fighters who are naturally too small for the division they are fighting in, trying to squeeze into the division to take advantage of 24 hr rehydration and fight smaller man.
there is no theory.
its science, cowardice, and ambition.
They're not really thoughh. I still see GGG's frame as bigger, his wrists, his shoulders. just just entire structure in general is bigger. Kell's eaten up to be where he is right now. 9/10 meals a day (this is according to him on a documentary called behind the ropes) . . . I do agree he was big for welter and draining possibly. But he was still making the weight. GGG most likely can't so that would equal Kell being smaller. He's probably a good Jr MW.
fair enough man, i didnt read it properly. Although guess what i said is still true, theres lots of people on youtube slagging off brook gaining weight, including larry with his new boxing podcast lol
Yes it is true. Brook obviously has a good team behind him. The Ingle gym is pretty much well established. . . But the method for bulking up so fast (well maybe not soo fast, he's been big for a while) is still puzzling. As I said there must be a reason behind that they know about. All I'm asking is we speculate as to what that could be.
the youtube gurus know jack **** about strength and conditioning, i'd trust the sports science team that brook is using at the university more than these guys. As for brooks shape, people make it sound like hes the michelin man at middleweight , is he as ripped as he was at welter no, but hes still in really good shape.
I said other trainers on youtube, the actual trainer I was specifically talking about when I mentioned that is Rich Farnan. . . He's knows a fair bit. more than any of us here I'd imagine. But I'm just asking for our arm chair critics theories to be thrown about.
Well it kind of is correct cause it happened. But I know what you mean there is a chance that it was coincidental and it happened exactly how they said it did and a contract got written up and signed by both sides in like 10 minutes. I know what I'm going with though.
Yeah I'm leaning toward the coincidental way of thinking. I honestly think it was the Eubanks that started this all off being there mental usual selves, and they just saw there chance and nicked it.
It fell through for GGG and he prob just thought **** it why not.
