It's getting to the point where people are scratching their heads. Lara is a division higher than Brook and been actively pursuing GGG for years. Lara arguably beat Canelo on PPV and would be seen as a legit test/win.
Surely Lara is bigger than Wade/Monroe Jr/Adama?
If Lara really is an easy fight, why not let Gennady KO him in 6 rounds and show his superiority over Canelo?
Maybe, just maybe, they saw something in Lara's schooling of Canelo and GGG's fight with Ouma that they didn't like?
Why won't the Charlo twins, Andrade, Jacobs, Mayfeather, etc fight Lara???
Good question. If his own stable mates are not interested in fighting him, why expect others in other stables to fight him?
It's a vicious cycle. That's why boxing is dead.
Lara demands a certain amount of money, more than he himself generates as a prizefighter, and more than could be profitably supported during and up to promotion of fight. When a promoter doesn't want to take a loss to make it happen, the A-side fighter has the option to take less money in order to sweeten the b-side's pot...
So tell us what Lara demanded....
I don't know exactly what Lara was offered, but I will use my deductive reasoning skills here. We know Lara's purses for his most recent fights, we have data on attendance and other things. Those shows probably lost money, since they were PBC time buys and no one was in the crowd.
Lara certainly wants more for a GGG fight than he got paid previously. Can't blame him either, he wants to get paid. However, compromise likely is needed somewhere on the $$. Lara is unknown to all but the hardcore fans and doesn't have much of a fan base in the US. He's not a draw, not a money generator. If he was, wouldn't he be able to draw in locations w/ sizeable Cuban communities?
It's basic...Lara doesn't bring anything to the table but credibility from the (hardcore) boxing world. I'd like to see the fight even though I don't see Lara having any chance at winning.
:lol1: :lol1: :lol1: Says the guy who believes GGG is a super hero.
I'm trying to end this discussion but you keep reviving it. I already know what you're going to say.
"Lara has no fans doe"
"Lara is boring doe"
"Lara got dropped by Angulo doe"
"Lara would get destroyed anyway doe"
I am not getting into these back and forths with you radical Golovkin extremists anymore.
Then you shouldn't be offering ill considered opinions if unwilling to stand behind them, or revise when proven so wrong
Wow. You mean as soon as Loeffler started contacting Haymon, Decubas is suddenly asking whether GGG can fight on Showtime? Is he not the same guy who said Lara can fight everywhere, and can even fight in Kazakhstan?
Yep, the GGG haters are running out of excuses here. Lara is getting EXPOSED as the next ducking Fraud. Same as Danny Jacobs. Same as Billy Joe Saunders. Same as Carl Froch.
I see where it fits your agenda, but telling Loeffler that the fight would be difficult to make because of g strings exclusive HBO contract does not = "coming up with a list of reasons why the fight can't happen".
Again, my hats off to you. Defending g strings pathetic resume is a hard job and you're up to the task.
And: "It would be a difficult fight to make, Lara commands a lot of money" (700k for his last fight)
And: "He doesn't want to fight at 160 just yet. He wants to break the record for title defences at 154 first"
Time to let it go mate. They obviously don't want the fight and they never did.
Why won't Lara fight GGG as he promised and starts making excuses?
Why did Lara never try to really make the fight, why did they never contact Loeffler?
Why is Lara's manager suddenly talking about fighting GGG on Showtime and that Lara commands alot of money and the fight will be hard to make?
After bull****ting on Twitter for 2 years and not ONCE contacting K2/Loeffler, claiming Lara wants to fight the best for his legacy... bla bla.. then Loeffler actually had to make the first move and contacted Haymon to see if Lara is for real and now that is how Lara's manager replied:

Question: So how much would a possible Golovkin-Lara fight cost and would it be in the budget of HBO?
"Showtime definitely has the budget but can Golovkin fight on Showtime? I'm not sure what the budget is on HBO." (WTF?)
"Lara commands a lot of money so I cant say the fight will be simple to make." (WTF?)
"We got to make more money than what he's made in the past for Golovkin." (WTF?)
What does that even mean? Sounds like excuses! Sounds like ducking! Sounds like Jacobs and Saunders!

If you follow the young mans (GGG) career you'd know that Lara has no belt at middleweight. He is not a mandatory defense of any of GGG's belts, he also has very little drawing power.
The Brook bout is because another middleweight belt holder decided against facing GGG, don't you pay attention to this crap?

Haters, how about now, do you like him now?

g string is liked well enough, it's just that real boxing fans (this leaves you out) want to see him test himself vs a quality opponent for once.
Too bad Lara's team don't agree with that, or they would have made the fight when Loeffler contacted them about it, instead of coming up with a list of reasons why it can't happen.

Lara's manager Decubas already explained why this fight is not easy to make. I don't get why these fanboys still keep pushing for this fight when Lara's team itself is already hinting they will make the fight hard to happen.
What's else is there to discuss when Lara's camp is basically saying they don't want the fight and were just pretending they do.
Boxing is dying.
Nope Decubas said the fight is not easy to make because of GGG camp and their exclusive contract. So they can only hope for GGG side to send contract because they are the one tie to a network.
So is all about GGG camp, Lara camp wants it, now is GGG who need to take the first step, but it looks like they they want no part.

Who on Golovkins resume is more skilled than Lara?
What does your definition of "skilled" have to do with anything? Who is a more prominent potshotting mover? Nobody. Not many people in the sport are more known for utilizing a slapping jab while on a dead sprint than Lara. What you should be asking yourself is does anyone on Golovkins resume have a better win than Trout. Thats a real discussion. Because otherwise you might as well argue about any style of fighter vs Golovkin. I mean, has he REALLY faced a better face first brawler than (insert name here)? Styles when the fighters themselves are irrelevant become irrelevant.
Odd, vacuous reply. Guess you're determined to hold on to your fairytale
