One Thing I've Noticed About Ward Fans

The day after the Chilemba fight they were calling him an overrated bum who only had power and Ward would school him. After Ward snoozer of a fight they went silent lol.. Gonna be a good fight I hope.

Perhaps. But Kovalev is proven against better fighters. Like 50 yo Hopkins... or Pascal. Sure.

So what does this have to do with Ward fans respecting Kovalev as a formidable opponent? That I also have Kovalev in top3 P4P, like Golovkin.

I'm saying P4P Kovalev and GGG are about equal. Perhaps GGG is a bit better. Perhaps. But Kovalev is proven against better fighters.

Kovalev is a better opponent for Ward. GGG is a fine fighter. but he's a middleweight. Ward and Kovalev are both light heavyweights. There's no way, none, nada, zip, zero how Kovalev is only "as good as", GGG. I'm saying P4P Kovalev and GGG are about equal. Perhaps GGG is a bit better.

Everyone in boxing has respect for Kovalev. What's so great about giving props to someone everyone gives props to? He thinks Kovalev and Canelo situations are comparable a bit idiotic If you ask me. Ward fans respectful? You're not fooling anyone.

Not saying kovalev aint top3 arguably #1 in my book but this tactic is nothing new, its happens almost every weekend and more so every big fight. Mayweather fans with berto "hes a x time champion who fresh and just had corrective surgery so this is the best berto ever, no one has ever beat this version of berto" Wilder fans "molina is a very durable rugged verterans who comes to win and have sneaky skills, the version of molina wilder fought beats any of the top 10 HW's right now" and so on and so on. Floyd fans did hype up his opponents, just like Pacman fans and Canelo fans. But the truth is, there's no need to inflate either Ward's or Kova's accomplishments and standing because both are in fact 2 of the best, undefeated fighters in the world.

Is that they have the utmost respect for Sergey Kovalev. Many have Kovalev ranked in the top 3 pound for pound, consider him to be an honorable champion and are really looking forward to seeing Ward test his skills against this monster. It's very rare, going into these major fights where you see a fan base have so much respect for the opponent and aren't making numerous threads bashing the opponent. Quality guys like Chilemba and Cleverly? What is so quality about them. They are top 10 LHWs.... but that's all you can say. What makes them any better than the Murrays and Macklins of this world? Nothing makes them better. But Murray might be Golovkin's best win. Neither Chilemba nor Cleverly are Kovalev's best win.

Kovalev is a certified beast. It's the sort of test that will prove Ward's greatness. Challenges like this are what make ATG fighters.

Just with my experience in major fights there is a lot of back and forth retarded bull**** that goes on between fans of both fighters. You don't see that with Ward vs Kovalev so I anticipate we will see a lot more mature and intelligent boxing discussions leading up to this fight. More so than we are used to. You dont see that because Ward is continuously trying to hype up Kovalev and Kovalev barely trashes any fighter unless he has something thrown his way so both guys are being respecting of each and their fans, who do as their fighters do, are doing the same. So again, I don't see anything here to applaud. It's just common sense. Not everyone is as crass as a Mayweather or a Broner and their sets of fans, although many of their fans do overlap and I've seen quite a few posts on here claiming Kovalev is flat footed and how Ward is going to be too slick for the "eurobum" etc etc
