i know is ufc, but dude was dead tired from the beginning of the second round. floyd and manny are way past their best but their gas tanks are excellent
A lot has to do with being able to relax. I can't and I'm sure 99% of anyone on this forum can imagine the stress of fighting in front of millions with so much at stake. Secondly....while I consider boxing a more disciplined sport, MMA is harder. I've done both. Never at the world class level, but enough to know the difference. It's easy to sit on a Forum and judge. It's harder to move up weight classes in any sport and show the same dominance you have shown before...especially in MMA. And for the record...I'm a bigger fan of boxing.
The man known as The Notorious was put through his paces by sports scientist Professor Greg Whyte recently and as has been the case with pretty much every test he’s faced in his career to date, he aced it, with Whyte saying afterwards that McGregor had the aerobic capacity of a Premier League footballer and the strength endurance of an elite rugby player.

nervous energy+ grappling with a much bigger guy was the reason imo
you might know better, i don't follow me that much. but he did seem pretty tired
Wlad fights MMA style and he didn't tire once against Povetkin in 12 rounds. Was just racking up points with sick ass clinches/grappling.
Some people just have awful stamina and no matter how much they train they just can't fix it completely. It's just the way some people are i suppose.
Some are the opposite. Look at Tyson Fury, he has great stamina but by looking at him you wouldn't think so.

He was. He's going up 15-25 lbs to his natural fighting weight. Fighting a guy who's going for take downs and in the clinch is naturally heavier. The same thing happens in boxing.
Mcgregor has gone rounds at 145 in the past looking fit through 3 rounds (5 minute rounds) against Holloway and looked absolutely fine.
But he is muscle heavy and is built for KOs not decisions.

Obviously stamina in a boxing ring is totally different to mma.
I thought mcgregor fought the near perfect fight aside from the cardio. I just think the added weight is an issue, his optimal competition wieght is 155 as he displays the best cardio.
Mcgregor is a unique boxer (kinds reminds me of a mini Froch but faster) he utilizes angles and awkward reach positions. I bet mcgregor could be trained to be a decent boxer at 147
I think people having cardio this bad must be genetic no matter how much they train they seem to gas ala Canelo. Imagine Conor vs Manny in boxing, would be EPIC, think old Pac would return and Margarito him.
