At #10. Very happy for Frampton.. A deserved entrant. Kid has both the skills & the resume now:
-Léo Santa Cruz
-Alejandro González, Jr.
-Scott Quigg
-Christopher Avalos
-Kiko Martinez x2
-Steve Molitor
-Raúl Hirales Jr.
A fairy tale story for he & the Mcguigans. Carl on his legacy:
I want to be a legend, Honestly, that's what I want to be, a legend in Irish sport. I think it's coming up to 30 years since Barry won his world title in Loftus Road against Pedroza and people are still talking about it. I want to be like that 30 years from now – people are talking about my fights with guys like Chris Avalos and Kiko Martinez in the pubs all over Ireland. That's what I intend to do. I want to create a legacy. I want to keep beating big names. I want to get big fights, bring them back to Belfast as much as possible, and keep winning.
Barry McGuigan:
Carl is doing what I did. He's a beacon for peace and reconciliation and represents the future of Northern Ireland.
As a fighter, McGuigan was known for wearing a Dove on his shorts, as a representation of peace. He also had no national anthem played at his fights, he took up dual Irish-British citizenship which allowed him to fight for British Domestic titles, and he married a Protestant woman, all of which had huge significance at the time. It is hard to not draw comparisons, with Frampton following down an almost identical path. He too has even married a Catholic woman despite being Protestant, and he too has a large following of die-hard fans from both Catholic and Protestant backgrounds, who attend his fights in their thousands.
This kid could end up being the best Irish fighter who ever lived
- Barry McGuigan
He maybe right!
Because Frampton said he wants to create his own legacy. Doesn't get any easier to create that legacy than fighting and beating Rigo. Honest talk here. But I would say that Frampton is my #10P4P fighter right now.
Maybe if Rigondeaux moves to FW & becomes marketable all of a sudden then maybe he would rule him back in. But for the reasons set out I do not think it feasible to criticise Frampton for not fighting Rigo now:
-Frampton has matured into a FW & Rigo is a SBW
-He has hardly any marketability or fan-base
-A fellow UK name called Lee Selby exists
Boxing is a business. It's just being real. I agree it would add to his legacy but so would many things, like unifying FW etc
Again, explain to me why Frampton would now choose to fight Rigo taking into consideration:
-Frampton has matured into a FW & Rigo is a SBW
-He has hardly any marketability or fan-base
-A fellow UK name called Lee Selby exists
Again. Get real. Boxing is a business. Stop being so naïve & applying ideals & purism in the context I have just set out. It's silly & never as black & white as 'oh well he ducked....'
Peak Andre Ward never fought Dirrell. I wouldn't say he ducked him per se..

Pathetic excuses. We both know it would be the same story if Rigo moved up...and the cycle repeats itself...funny that money is not the issue with lesser known opponents as I previously mentioned Kiko Martinez and Gonzalez but its a big issue with Rigo...well...done here I did everything I could to help you.

Apparently you do not know how to apply context. Now explain to me why Frampton would now choose to fight Rigo taking into consideration:

Apparently you do not know how to read - Frampton can speak for himself and give his reasons ( as he did ) he said that ' his fans would think hes boring ' something about being in a stinker....you speak as if you are his adviser....funny that he had no problem fighting Kiko Martinez who Im sure is renown throughout the world (lol)....OR maybe Frampton was speaking the truth in that quote : that a certain 'Style' is whats really required to land a fight with him.

I don’t want to be involved in another fight with Rigondeaux that would be a stinker. That is not ducking somebody that is realising the person in question brings nothing other than the satisfaction of a few boxing purists. Boxing is a business. If Rigondeaux had a fan-base & was a marketable fighter or if it was a big domestic clash I have no doubt Frampton would accept. I do not think he has chosen to not fight him purely on the idea that he may lose to him. Nothing is as black & white as you like to make out. Setting your stall out & addressing the issue as he did is actually admirable. It is not a feasible fight for many reasons..
-I do not think Rigo could make FW & Carl isn't dropping back to SBW
-He has hardly any marketability or fan-base
-A fellow UK name called Lee Selby exists
Why would he choose to fight Rigo now taking into consideration all of the above. Get real.

Idiot troll I just provided a direct quote from Frampton clearly stating he does not want to fight Rigo.

Do you realise what a queen you sound? 'Oooooohhh he said, she said..'
It's a fact is it? Show me the formal offer team Rigondeaux officially sent to team Frampton that they declined?

Like I would sincerely praise that euro bum Quigg...and its a fact that both Quigg and Frampton ducked Rigo its not up for debate even Santa Cruz ducked him.
Frampton and Santa Cruz both used to compete at 122. They weren’t in a rush to face Rigondeaux then, and Frampton still isn’t interested now thanks to Rigondeaux’s style.
“I’m happy to fight anyone. I genuinely am. I would fight anyone,” Frampton said at the post-fight press conference. “But I want to be involved in exciting fights. I had a bit of a stinker with Scott Quigg. I don’t want to be involved in another fight with Rigondeaux that would be a stinker. People will start to think ‘This guy is boring’ and start to not like me.”
Quak Quak!

Let's keep it real? You just made a statement totally lacking in fact. Quigg isn't great & nor was LSC robbed. Keep relying on an imaginary Rigo clash, it's fantasy! One is a SBW & the other is a fully fledged FW. They aren't going to meet so speculation means very little. Also Frampton doesn't need Rigo to be great. Careful match making?! LMAO LSC was favourite & the #1 rated FW....
What a tool.

Beating the great Scott Quigg and robbing Leo Santa Cruz makes you P4P now? disgraceful....lets keep it real both Quig and Framptons career would have never been if they faced Rigo...this is a product of careful match making and corrupt judges.

Good on the kid.
Thought he was a world class operator the first time I saw him.
Think Rigo would have put hands on him at '22, but meh.
Frampton-LSC was a good one, and I wouldn't mind a rematch.

He's not about wanting to become a legend though... He just put out a statement that he needs to look out for his family because fighting rigo doesn't make dollar sense. He wanted to be a legend he should fight rigo one of the boogeyman of boxing.
#10 seems a little low, the guy unified at 122 & is now a 2 division champ.. Needs to move up.. I would like to place him 1 below Bud at #6 though.. his competition level has been consistently good..
This was hard work from carl and his team of father and son, I remember when they left Eddie "the snake" hearns because they wanted more control of carl career similar to the Eubank scenario, but they have made it work and kept it steady. Now they would be reaping the benefit of it NOT a promoter taking the bulk of the reward.
I think #10 is way too low. In the last year he has 2 Top3 fighters from different divisions on his resume. Nobody in the last 2-3 years has done that.
He makes easy top5 on my list.
Considering his resume is better than a couple of the p4p list entrants maybe. However p4p isn't just about resume.. He is deserving though I don't know where I would place him personally.
