Look I really like Terrance but he still has a lot left to prove before he can be considered one of the best fighters in the sport imo. I've seen people say that he might be the next Mayweather...wtf???? really based on what exactly??? His best wins are against Gamboa and Postol. Gamboa was undersized and Postol is good but not great. If/when Crawford beats guys like Thurman, Spence, Pacquiao, Porter, Garcia, Brook, or even Mikey Garcia then we can have that conversation about him being special. It's sill too early to say that about him now, the wins against Postol and Gamboa are good but I need to see more from him to be convinced.
Convinced of what? That he can finish his career undefeated? Reign at 140 for a long time? Win titles at 147?
It's like people say "I'm not convinced". Wait 3 years till the guy loses and says "see I told you so"
He won the lineal championship in 2 weight divisions. There is not a single bigger accomplishment in the sport of boxing than becoming the world champion. He's done that in 2 weight classes.
He is the real deal and proved it. There is nothing to debate. There's no convincing left to do.

Exactly. To all of it but the thing in bold is so spot on. I don't know why boxing fans do this.
He might as well.
Crawford has already moved up...now they want him to move up again..GGG has not moved up once, nor is he required to.
Lil g isn't required to move up because he's "Mexican style". Crawford is a runner and boring so he has to move up again. According to lil g fans:rofl:
Crawford has already moved up once.
I agree that Crawford is where he needs to be atm; he should only move up for Pac or Bradley. He can build his record up @140, but Pac/Bradley are the opponents he needs to build his brand.
I don't think it's feasible for promotional reasons but I'd love to see him fight Garcia at 140. Personally, I would like to see TC go up to WW right away but I don't know that he's planning on doing that. He could fight someone like a Guerrero to get himself acclimated to fighting @ WW.
WW is dominated by PBC, that's why Crawford shouldn't move up (at least not permanently).
I don't see much at 140 & as a fan there is nothing appealing to me for TC at 140. What are you suggesting? Troyanovsky?

Yes, I'm buying. You can tell the skills are there and he makes fight changing adjustments every single fight. After round 3-4 he doesn'tose another round.
His ability to adjust during fights is phenomenal. It will be interesting to see how he handles guys with power like a Thurman or Spence.
Hell nah, I don't give a rat's ass about GGG. Wake me up when he fights a legitimate opponent. Now back to the topic at hand, are you buying the Crawford hype?

Well f#ck bro thats you & 99% of hardcore boxing fans. I honestly don't even think TC gots THAT big of a hype train saying he's gonna meet or exceed what Floyd or Manny did. I think Spence gots more heat than TC & he's proven less.
I'd love to see Crawford vs Spence but TC might still have some unfinished business at JWW. I re-watched Spence vs Algeri the other day and I was very impressed by Spence's performance. Pacquiao didn't even beat down Algeri like that.
So you could only name one. Andre ward. Gotcha.
There are lots of good fighters out there: Ward, Rigondeaux, Kovalev, Lomanchecko, Gonzalez, Crawford, Thurman, etc. How many of the contemporary fighters in the sport would you call great or destined for HOF status?
I would like to see if Crawford can become undisputed 140lb champion. Afterwards, either defend your throne or face Pac in a WW one-off. Crawford should try to stay at LWW for as long as possible so we can entertain him vs. Loma. Also, I would like if Crawford vs. Garcia could somehow materialize.
Crawford is very good, one of my favorites right now but he is a long ways from Pac-May status. It would be great if he beat Garcia or Thurman next, lets hope it happens.
There aren't many fighters that I would characterize as great right now. There are some really good young fighters out there with lots of promise, Crawford included. To me Andre Ward is the best fighter in boxing pending on the Kovalev fight. I know Dre hasn't fought great competition lately but he still dominated and cleaned out the SMW division, which is rare in boxing these days. Furthermore, I expect Ward to beat Kovalev relatively convincingly. I like Crawford and think he has a bright future but I need to see more from him before I call him great or the next Floyd. I don't think he'll ever be the next Floyd but there's no shame in that, there's only one Floyd Mayweather.
So you could only name one. Andre ward. Gotcha.
When I say I want to see more before I'm convinced, I'm saying that in relation to him being compared to fighters like Floyd. I'm not calling him a hype job, he's obviously the real deal but I'm not convinced that he's the next great fighter from this generation. Time will tell...
Fair enough. I have no issue with saying he's on track and in the race. Just a long ways to go to get to the finish line.
At 140 he beats Troya and Burns which would make him undisputed at 140. He also beats Orozco, Imam and probably Barthlemy.
He does have to go to 147 to be great though. And some trips to 154 if he wants to Floyd torchbearer.
Fair enough, I agree although I'm not so sure about him going up to 154. TC isn't that big.
Idk that he gots a lot to prove. More or less whitewashing the 2nd best guy in your division is pretty impressive.
Now granted I'm sure along the lines of the long game sure TC gots a long ways to go before he's in Floyd or Manny regions & I still wanna see him in with a guy with heavy hands cuz I don't think he's been properly chin checked vs a guy his size yet, but I don't think he's gonna get "exposed" at this point. And I mean that in that he's proven himself to be very high level now & a loss to a Spence or Thurman would just be a L & not him proving that he's a bum as some will surely say when TC does catch a L.
And I say this as a guy who's been not so high on TC.

Convinced of him being the next Floyd or a HOF as I've seen people say. What he's done thus far is impressive but I'd like to see him get more victories against elite competition. It's going to take more than beating Postol and Gamboa to get him into the HOF. I think he could be a transcendent talent but I want to see more from him.
Ok then let me know what current boxers you like that are living up to the hype?
