So these are the obvious fights to make outside of an LSC rematch for Frampton.
Both very makeable with all fighters in the Al Haymon stable.
Who do you think comes out on top in each?
if cuellar beats mares (supposedly they'll fight by the end of september) they should fight since cuellar is the regular champ of the WBA and now frampton is the super champion. the WBA gave santa cruz like 18 months to get that fight done so i don't know if they'll enforce that to frampton or they'll let him have another fight
As for Frampton, we are going to hear his name a lot, it happens, hes the $ guy now at 126 and even though he looked good against LSC, he is still beatable so people want to jump on that fire while its hot. But like you I want to see the best fight the best, in a perfect world Gary Russel wouldve fought Selby and the winner couldve fought Frampton early next year after Frampton made a voluntary defense. Personally I hope Valdez throws his name into the mix more clear and gets a fight with Cueller, I dont think Mares will be back anytime soon so Cuellers left without a dance partner and Valdez beating an Argentine for the vacant belt gives that fight a little story line. As for LSC, to be honest I think he needs to work his way back up, Frampton beat him pretty clearly IMO. I have a funny feeling though that we will see LSC vs Gary Russel before we see him vs Frampton.
I won't care too much if Mares doesn't comeback, I was just placing him in there just in case.
Would you hate a LSC vs. Russell fight?
Hopefully Haymon and Top Rank work together so Valdez can get some of those fights.
LSC was always flawed. I think people would've wanted to fight him regardless of him losing to Frampton.
I think LSC may take a tune up late this year or early next year, but I expect him to get back into the mix after that. I think LSC can still beat some guys. And he has said he wanted to move up in the future, his words not mine, so might as try to get more big fights at 126 before moving up.
Russell and Selby should be able to fight later this year since Frampton and LSC will be busy. No excuses.
Selby himself doesnt bring much money, but as an event Selby vs Frampton would be big. Two Brit world champs in the same division, both prime?
Perfect. Only problem is that it makes most money in the UK, and over here they are on different networks, but in the US where its not so big, they would have no problem making it.
Hmm..I see. So they may run into problems making the fight.
Well, people keep saying that Russell would be an easy fight, so why not go for the easy belt and money?
I am not a Selby fan. I don't like the comments he's made in the past. It makes me feel like he doesn't want to test himself and instead looking to cash himself out.
I think Frampton would fight all of the other top guys in the division. I am not too sure about Selby though. Hopefully they make him fight the other top guys whether he likes it or not. I want to see Selby vs. Russell, Frampton, LSC, Cuellar, Valdez. Defeats won't hurt you, Selby, it's OK.
If Selby could prove that he's real then the Frampton fight becomes bigger and the networks may make it work.
Does Selby bring any money? I doubt he brings much.
Selby is a joke. They asked him if he wanted to face Russell and he said he wanted Russell to face Lomachenko again. Does this guy have no confidence of beating Russell?
Why doesn't he want to fight Russell?
The Frampton fight is probably not happening this year, so why not fight Russell in the end of this year?

I want to see all these guys fight each other. Not just rely on Frampton.
Let us see Russell vs. Selby, Russell vs. Santa Cruz, Selby vs Santa Cruz, Russell vs. Cuellar, Santa Cruz vs. Cuellar, Russell vs. Mares, Selby vs. Mares, Selby vs. Cuellar.
Frampton will also be in the mix, but they don't just have to wait for Frampton.
Frampton is the leader for Fighter of the Year. All he has to do is fight one more top 10-15 opponent to end the year and he surely gets it.
They could of had Russell vs. Selby while Frampton vs. Santa Cruz was scheduled, but they didn't.
I don't think Selby wants any part of anyone other than Frampton because he probably wants to cash out. The guy doesn't seem confident to me. He shouldn't be afraid of losing. Look at Leo, he lost but people still want to see him back. I know I do. There are still a lot of interesting fights involving Leo, including the Frampton rematch.
Remember Selby basically said he didn't want to think of unifying until after two years of winning his world title. The guy is a joke.
I actually think Russell would fight anyone. I feel like Selby is the difficult one. All they need to do with Russell is put him in there against anyone and he'll accept the fight. I would like to see how the other top guys handle Russell's style. I would like to see how they handle each other in general. A lot of interesting match-ups in this division. (Unfortunately Loma may not be part of it.)
Hopefully Valdez can get into the mix as well. Great fights to be made at 126 and they all don't have to dependent on Frampton. Frampton is just one guy.
I think Frampton will fight all the top guys in the division, but everyone else will also have to fight each other.
These guys are lucky to be in a good division, other boxers wish they could be in division as good as this one. Hopefully they don't mess it up.
It's not like they have all the time in the World to make these fights happen. Some of them will move up and others may not make it. So take advantage of the moment, because there is no telling what happens tomorrow.

lol, I agree with you Hi-Tech. Frampton deserves a quick $ grab and Russell needs to get his name out in the open. Its the same group of HYPOCRITE fans on NSB that cry A-side, TV ratings and money all the time but want Frampton to fight for peanuts against GRJr to fulfill their agenda, their bias is obvious.

selby just said he didnt wanna fight grj bc he doesn't bring in money and frampton said the same about rigo. Looks like they'll be fighting each other and then chasing a payday after that. I'd love to see grj vs anyone in the divsion, but whether he gets a true look we'll have to see.

Both tough fights but I'd fancy Frampton in both although the Russell Jr fight could be a bit tougher. There is something 'wrong' with Russell Jr though, I don't know if it is just his hand injuries or if he just isn't all there mentally but I think he is less than his talent would suggest.
Oh my god!!! You guys took it too literal. ****ing hell.
Here, take this :bottle:

Russel Jr relies on his speed too much. Frampton feints will bamboozle him the same way Loma did but Carl will be stepping in with power, not to mention Carl's jab WILL be a factor offensively and defensively. Russell Jr has that equalizer as well but Carl has to be the favorite.
I like Selby, he fights like Broner..... but Carl will wreck him.
Get him Rigo! Force Carl to fight him.
Loma is a different style fighter than carl, much more technical with game plans. Though carl boxed beautifully saturday, he isn't the type to be physical or use his physicality to alter a fighters defense (swipe down gloves, head positioning inside, throw and smother, etc) like loma did and grj has changed some of his defense since then. I'd love to see the fight though
I didn't mean it too literal. Frampton was just in two big fights back to back. I just think Russell and Selby should be in a big fight, against each other, before they face someone like Frampton. Plus, like I said Frampton will probably have an easier title defense to end the year and probably get Fighter of the Year for 2016.
No excuse as to why Russell, Selby, and Santa Cruz can't mix it up in the meantime. I wish Russell would stay more active.
And hopefully Valdez can get into the mix as well. Some good fights to be made at 126.

That's exactly what I expected to hear and to happen. None of these guys are going to want to fight GRJ, he's the most difficult opponent in the division now that Lomachenko has moved to 130.
They will mix and match with each other but try to freeze Russell out if they can.
Nah I just think its unfair on Frampton who has fought big fighters in the past two fights this year Quigg a big hitter in Manchester, England then Leo Santa Cruz in Texas.
Who has Russell Jr fought this year?
I think Russell Jr should be fought but I think Frampton right now deserves a domestic clash which would be a big PPV fight If he got say Selby or Warrington and If he prevails with that fight in 2017 he should target Russell, Rigo or Lomachenko.
I think Carl has earned himself If he fights once more this year someone who isn't as dangerous as Russell Jr.

I think Russell Jr is on another level to LSC. I think he does everything better + is 5 times as fast doing it.
But he's also smaller I think so that would be a difference.
