Max says:
What floyd was, is the opposite of what the fight game wants from him,
He is exploiting the fans and the networks by not fighting the fight they want to see and thus not taking all this unnecessary punishment and waiting just the right time, to fight just the right guy, and when that guy means maximum reward, minimum risk.
In short:
Floyd takes the path of less resistance. Low risk high reward blueprint.
Floyd is a bad precedence to boxers now.
while on the other hand, Pac takes all challenges.
If I was a manager of Pacquiao, I'll say don't take that fight, but as a boxing fan, I love the fact that Pacquiao takes on challenges, Terence Crawford is the biggest, baddest challenge he can take on right now, and given Pacquiao character and his nature and his track record, I think he's gonna take him.
???
First off, I wasn't talking to you travestyny's alt.
2ndly, if you follow up on what I said about Crawford and spence around here they are good fighters that will not improve pac's legacy.
3rdly, Crawford and spence, are good fighters who still needs to prove they are great. That is why they are medium threat, coz one, if they were matched with Pac or Floyd. Pac and May might be blitzing these 2 younglings in a lopsided fight and people will just say they are unproven that's why they lost. They are are good but not great yet. Thus, making them medium, meaning if Pac or Floyd won against this 2, their résumé will improved definitely but not so much.
4thly, if Pac or Floyd lost to Crawford or spencer, it won't be much of a dent for Pac and Floyd legacy since they are obviously not at their prime anymore. While if Crawford and spence get a win over any of them, then, it will catapult them as the next stars in boxing. Big IF they can.
5th, Max explained you can't have it both ways, it's either you fight what is hot at that time and prove your greatness, or you take the path of Floyd Mayweather the path of calculated risk taking. Fighting an opponent with the least threat of that time with maximum gains. You can't have it both ways brotha'
6th and final
I know after saying all this to you. You still won't get Max's point.that's why you just end up spamming nonsense in these great informative thread about Floyd cherry picking ways.
Goodbye! Travestyny's alt. I will be expecting both of you soon.
you have given some good points on fighters match-ups...
however, i may be wrong on this, but i think you have missed out on the promoter factor...
promoters think very differently....to protect or maximize their investments....they will not easily cave in and immediately give what the fans want to see....
and they really know how to play with other promoters and fighters....
we may time and again point out that promoters "lied" on the fight negotiations....
but it really was just shuffling cards to them...
Bumpity bump. Kellerman sounding as spectacular as usual, ehh? Crawford? No! Not the right style.
To Kellerman and the idiots who agreed with him, here take this L .
Pact@rd logic.
Floyd beats Crawford easily UD = floyd cherry picked. Too green. He ducked (insert name here) and fought Crawford instead.
Paciquiak loses to Crawford = better resume than floyd.
Floyd makes champions look like b class fighters. Floyd retires. Pact@rd claims Floyd avoided a tough era. Floyd comes back and beats everyone of that era. Pact@rd claims no competition.
Bob arum is right boxing fans are like rocks.

2 paths greatness or cherry pick
Greatness - you can choose Pac, GGG
medium competition - spencer, crawford, Thurman, Canelo (not weight drain version and prime)
Cherry picking path - Berto part 2, Broner, Malignaggi,
Will know when he comes out.

No doubt.
I cannot see any of the cherry picking paths. Lmao. Berto part 2. Hahahahaha what's the fu*kin point? He hates Broner too much he won't give him the payday. I think Paulie retired tonight.
Maybe Danny Garcia??? I kept on hearing that floating around, but it's all rumors at this point.
I've said it before though. Floyd never takes a fight he knows he can't lose.
Oh I forgot about Danny. That's an easy fight for Floyd. Might be it. We'll see.

I don't think we'll have any trouble finding Floyd later. He's the type of person who has to be in the limelight. He'll come out of retirement.
The question is against who?

Yes in the early part of his career he was a humble boxer trying to prove his worth. Those years i respect about him. I give him that, but he slowly turned boxing into wwe when it shouldnt be in this day and age, and that idealogy have corrupted the new gen of boxers way of thinking in approaching the game.

Coming up he fought hard and took risks. Give him that. He had some very questionable ducking, late in his career. And again, lots of past fighters have ducked.
What I'm getting at is that you don't give Floyd the credit he deserves for his work early in his career.

Floyd exploited the loop holes of the corrupt system in boxing. He is also to be blamed. As max pointed out. There are 2 paths too choose. The difficult path were one boxer challenges himself for top competition and the other kind is the Floyd ways were in you wait to cherry pick that opponent for minimum risk and maximum profit.
You can't have your cake and eat it in 2. It's either you are glorified for taking risk or not glorified at all for cherry picking. You can't have it both ways.
Floyd's career is riddled with the path of less resistance, he took the safe road. If you want to be called TBE. You have to go the hard road.
And if he really think he is one. One way to end his career on a high note fight GGG in GGG weight and that will improve his argument he is TBE. Not to mention, here are a huge faction around the world seeing he lost the first fight with Pac. Isn't it obvious a rematch is needed to know who truly won not only thst but for the huge money it still can generate and for legacy? It is still the biggest fight out there? And yet.. He stays retired. Strange ain't it. Legends put exclamation points in there career. Floyd doesn't. He rather be a calculate business man. He can't have it both ways brotha, and that is why he is to this day disrespected and very much mediocre.

Floyd is a fight ducking cherrypicking coward ...but you wont admit that...
eat a dlck:AOR:
I love how I struck a nerve and got you all riled up
All the top fighters find ways to manipulate and get advantages. It's not just Floyd.
I agree with the bold 100%. But this problem never started with Floyd. It's been around since boxing started, but since Floyd haunts you in your nightmares, who have some weird logic where Floyd is whats wrong with the sport.
Floyd didn't do anything to boxing. Boxing let Floyd do what he did. Boxing's to blame. Floyd saw his opportunity and he took it. The problem was already there. Boxing didn't change.
The sports always been filled with divas.

Floyd proved himself to be a superior fighter to Pacquiao in every way imaginable.
But his fighting model has hurt the sport with new guys demanding multimillion dollar purses when it loses money for the networks and can't be justified when they draw less than 1M viewers on primetime network television.
Lol sports is all the same far and wide.
Were in the essence of sport is sportsmanship. Which is derive from the word itself.
Boxing is a sport. Listen up. It is a sport. :ugh:
You are what's wrong in boxing too. You can't see what's wrong with your statements.
# yes they are doing it already. The new generation are following the Floyd diva blueprint. That is what's fuvked up in boxing. This sport has no governing body like the nba, NFL, major leagues, that's what's wrong in boxing. Without proper rules to govern this sport. Floyd divas will sprout out to ruin the essence of boxing which is challenging oneself for top competition and not cherry picking to an illusional manufactured fake greatness.
Truth hurts.

Name me a top fighter who hasn't had an easy opponent. A tune up. A stay busy fight. Do it.
Pac's cherry picked too. Condemn him. I know you won't.
It's the nature of the sport.
Even coming up too. You're a prospect. The promoter wants to showcase your skills to the public. What's he gonna do? Put you in a tough fight where you might lose right off the bat? No. He's gonna give you some easy opponents. Build you up. Create some interest in you.
That's how the sport is done.
As for Floyd calling his shots, well that's what he wanted to do and thats on him. But understand that he did in fact work to get to that spot. It didn't just fall in his lap.
Floyd decided that he wanted to keep making money and wanted to stay on top.
Again. At the tippy top of the sport, where all the money's made, it's greed.
At that point you don't even care about the sport. Floyd even said it himself. he didn't care about boxing anymore, he only cared about the money.
Greed.
I'm not saying it's necessarily the way it should be done. But any other fighter in Floyd's position, would probably do the exact same thing.
Oh. And he beat Pac.
And if you've been a fan of this beloved sport you know the old ways is the better way. I don't want to elaborate anymore. I've explained enough. As I've said there is so much wrong in boxing. As max has pointed out. I don't accept it, and can see the wrong in it and that it should be fixed by having one central governing body to handle this great sport. Which up to this day.. Zilch
Do you see a top tennis player ask his opponent he get to choose the racket he should use.
Do you see a bowler ask his opponent what bowling ball he should use?
Do you see a golfer tell the PGA tour he only wants to fight in one place?
Do you see a tennis player ask I only want to play in clay not grass when I play against that guy?
Do you see an nba player choose a ref for the basketball game?
Do you see a soccer team choose the other opponents drug testing agency..
There is so much wrong in boxing, and advice you don't choose to be blinded by it.
The nature of any pro sport is to promote top competition in the spirit of rivalry and sportsmanship. Sportsmanship meaning fair game is paramount and an essential part of a sport so maximum glory is achieved if you win it deservingly.
That is and will always be the essence of sport. The spirit of fair play as the world watch who is the best for the glory of town, village, state, country or whatever backyard sport you are playing. Fair game my friend. Look it up.
You talk about Floyd....
What about Pacquiao and his catchweights. I think I recall the only one standing up to him about that as being Cotto during the 2nd negotiation.
But Pacquiao wasn't a diva at all according to you, was he? Perhaps a lot are following the Manny Diva blueprint, with all that has happened with catchweights recently. Wouldn't you agree?
Pac's the catchweight king. But Spoon won't admit that.

4thly, you admittedly said you are a troll.
5th and final. I don't talk to trolls buddy so it's time for you to reflect and gain some wisdom to why you are what you are...

This is boxing. Don't compare it to team sports. Does not work in anyway, no matter how you cut it. The very nature of the NFL, NHL, NBA is so much different from boxing you can't say anything.
Floyd, being the richest boxer in the history of the sport, obtained that position of power. Why do you think everyone was gunning for a Floyd fight? Most of those guys didn't even care about winning. They wanted that massive payday. They were more than happy to bend backwards for Floyd because they knew they were going to be set for life after the fight regardless of what happens.
Trust me. Any fighter who finds themselves in that position, is going to do exactly what Floyd did. Mark my words. Greed is very powerful.
And don't make it out like Floyd's the fighter who invented cherry picking. Fighters at the top of their game have been doing it way before Floyd. So stop. Team Pac cherry picked as well.
Lol sports is all the same far and wide.
