So Spence is talking big, wanting to face Canelo etc and some illusional fans already claim Spence is the top WW out there, even though he faced no one so far. Haymon has a huge stable of fighters at 147.
I thought they want to build him up and match him up with a Top 10, at least Top 20 opponent.
Now Spence is facing that small Italian who turns 42 in a couple months, who doesn't even have a punchers chance (30% KO Ratio). Spence is like 3 inches taller, 4 inches longer reach as well.
What does that fight do for Spence? Does Haymon have no better fighters that Brook could face? Is anyone giving Bundu the slightest chance? Casinos list Spence as a 100:1 favorite.. damn, who is he fighting next, Salka?
Bundu's never been stopped. . . . If Spence stops him that's a huge statement. I'm for this fight, not to mention the other reasons previously mentioned in this thread.
I know Spence can beat Bandu but this is a good measuring stick. Question is can he stop him. If he beats Bandu down and stops him then this could be really good for Spence jr.
... Spence follows the IBF rules. He's after Brook's belt and it doesn't seem very likely that Brook will make 147 again, in order to defend that belt... Therefore Spence makes the right moves...
****ing hell think i need to change my profile picture because every time i comment on another fighter, people go on about golovkin. If golovkin had canelo, saunders, jacobs knocking down the door for a fight and then he fought a **** mandatory, yes i would complain, but thats not the case.
Yea you might need to change your avy when posting in threads like this and complaining about others doing exactly what he is doing(only at a younger age)

You only have a few hundred posts so you are only just realizing what this place is.
Welcome to NSB.
If you crap on Mayweather/praise Pacquiao for something you are fullblown Pact*rd. If you crap on Pacquiao/ praise Mayweather you are a *****.
If you praise GGG/Kovalev etc you are a white supremacist who hates black people. If you say something negative about them then you are straight out the hood and sell/smoke crack. Visa Versa for the likes of Crawford, Broner, Spence etc
Also you cant see positives and negatives in how HBO (and associated promoters) or PBC (and affiliated promoters/networks) do business. You can only support one or the other, and it must full undying support.
There are no grey areas. Not on NSB.

saunders, jacobs, and canelo are all being ducked by golovkin, according to the bscene moneyteamers. eubanks, too.
yeah true, if its one soft touch hes fighting in bundu and then hes moving on to good competitive fights then thats alright. Just seen this script so many times where fighters take so long to step up there competition, not singling spence out as he looks real good so far, just frustrates me the amount of mismatches we see these days
Spence wants the big fights, its just Thurman, Brook, and Garcia view him as a high risk low reward right now. He doesnt bring big money to the table, he has no title.
If Spence has a title, Thurman has no more excuses.
Porter also wants to recapture the IBF title, so i can see that fight happening
Spence is fearless, he is young, he has nothing to lose and everything to gain.
He needs something to bargain with if he wants those bigger names.
He will have to go through Bundu and then Brook. I don't think Brook will drop his IBF title, especially after GGG beats him. Brook without his IBF title is right back at stage 0
Spence is staying active, IBF's title eliminator, i don't complain... It could have been against Ponomarev, who is a good prospect, but he declined admitting honestly that he isn't ready for that level still... The double standards from certain guys are hilarious though...
I thought the Ponomarov situation was about this:
http://www.espn.co.uk/boxing/story/_/id/16054321/konstantin-ponomarev-hurt-fight-eliminator-vs-errol-spence-jr
Though if you've information to the contrary I'd be interested if you could share.
To address the thread title though, the Bundu fight? I think it's a solid test for Spence - course he's expected to win, but Bundu ain't anyones pushover, and besides - what? Errol's supposed to be criticised for fighting a title eliminator?
fair enough, you do seem to be backtracking a bit though. :ugh:
I don't blame spence, the IBF are to blame they are by FAR the worst sanctioning body.
My point is people are defending this while blaming other IBF mandatories which IS double standards.
Not exactly sure how I'm backtracking.
Yes the sanctioning body rankings, the IBF in paticular, are ****ing horrible. Even though the IBF is excellent, for the most part, at enforcing mandatories. Which I like.
I'm not one of those people.
No it isnt enough for me lol, the belt will probably be vacant after he wins the eliminator with brook going to 160 (probably go to 154 after) So many belts around today that really, who cares if hes 'world champ'? , shows how ****ing **** that belt is aswell with brook defending agaisnt fun time gavin, jojo dan, kevin bizeir, and 42 year old bundu being in an eliminator, the belts worth **** all.
So titles only matter for GGG?? are you serious??? you are knocking a prospect for going for a world title but defend GGG for his sh1t mandatory's?

Brook still has the belt, it's up to Kell to either duck Spence or fight his mando...
Hopefully Kell does the right thing and faces Spence..it'd be a shame to see Brook duck his first legit mando
In terms of potential opponents for the winner of Brook/Spence, they will have to defend against Lemont Peterson more than likley
If Spence wins he can press for that Thurman fight. Keith has already said he will face Spence when he proves himself, a title and win over Brook and Peterson is proof enough.
Spence can also face Porter....
A lot of options open up for him if he has that title...but he will have to get past Brook first and thats not an easy task
I'm not claiming the guy is some world level fighter. He is a C level fighter at best, but again that is'nt the point.

Being awkward does not equate to anything more than fringe euro level.

TS are you intentionally being ignorant?
This is a eliminator to fight Brook
If he wants that IBF title he will have to fight who the IBF mandates
Also Spence is coming along nicely, this fight may show us the difference between him and Thurman.
Good barometer fight
His style is awkward, he is durable and he will give spence a look he has never seen before. People get too caught up in resume **** when it means little to someone in Spence's position. The goal is to get the kid the kind of expirience he needs to be a long term champion. That means getting him in there with as many different styles as possible against guys that show up to win. Now I will say he should of been making these types of fights 5 or 6 bouts ago, instead of fighting guys tailor made for him to destroy because they were paid victims, but it is what it is.

no he isnt.
what are you basing his 'qualities' off? getting a SD V D- level frankie gavin ?
being battered and not winning a round agaisnt thurman?
beating some Italian pizza chef's?
im curious..
