This would be a good fight. Martinez would win the early rounds most likely and Triple G would start coming on right before the 6th and start to wear Martinez down with his power shots. My pick would be Triple G by TKO stoppage anywhere from 7 to 10 rounds.

Of course I'm biased, but I think Prime Sergio has gears GGG can't keep up with. His jab is just as good as GGG and he's slick enough to avoid major damage.
Not saying it would be a blowout, but Sergio winning an 8 - 4 kind of fight with knockdowns from both sides and GGG winning the middle rounds.
Martinez would win most rounds up to 6-7, the ones he doesn't he gets dropped by being caught and timed whilst he's off balance, as he always was.
Then body shots have eventually worn him down to a brutal knockout.
Golovkin looks like **** when fighting a guy who refuses to simply stand in front of him and play "punch face", and 'Maravilla' was not going to stand there and let Golovkin even get two shots off.
Golovkin gets beat badly
Maravilla gets stretcher'd
look at #3
Boxers that ducked/ducking GGG
1---Felix sturm - wouldn't fight him for over 2 years when GGG was mandatory.
2---Peter quillin - said he will only fight for the may-pac kind of money, lol + he flew to Haymon to avoid GGG
3---Sergio martinez - "His promoter said that "no way I am putting him with this monster", GGG kept calling him out after his U.S. debut after every fight
4---Miguel cotto - ducked his mandatory(GGG) twice by fighting Geale and Canelo
5---Julio cesar chavez jr - Turned down 12mil offer by TR
6---Saul alvarez - Avoided his mando(GGG). Thinks that he is fighting at the weight-class of 155, as there is no such thing as a "155 weight-class" ,he is pretending to be not in the MW division because of GGG.There are 17 divisions just pick one, if you can't make 154 then you are a MW, simple.
7---Carl froch - After calling GGG out then when GGG accepted ,he backed down and now he is retired after making all the fuss, + GGG was calling him for more than a year b4 he was retired so no excuses for "retiring".
8---Andrea Ward - The diva of the 168lb division don't want to travel or meet the a-side GGG in a catchweight so he can become a good boy and get ktfo. Was willing to goto 160 for Floyd but when GGG said 164, Ward ducked + he was fine when Dawson came down a whole division for him but wont move half a division for GGG, smh
9---Billy joe Saunders - Even before winning the WBO title from Lee his fear of Golovkin was as biright as day this is just one of many interviews(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJuwAz-ekoQ), then after winning it he priced himslef out at 6 mil$. Then turned down $3.2mill offer from k-2(its 2.2 gbp so I converted)
10---Hassaan ndam njikam -When Hassaan was WBO champ, he was ordered to a purse bid to face Golovkin no less than two times and he was a no show each time.
11---Darren Barker - When Barker defeated Geale to become IBF champ, his promoter openly said that Barker will fight any1 except GGG
......you dont get credit for fights that didnt happen....what is up with you guys and that garbage
this guy is not the first fighter that had trouble finding opponents nor is he the only one today.....Rigondeaux, Ward, Lomachenko and others have all had trouble finding opponents throughout their careers.
I'd favor GGG, but he'll get bust up for his trouble
He hasnt faced many southpaws and the ones he did face that I watched touched him up a bit....a shot Kassim Ouma and Willie Monroe.....A prime Martinez is a lot more dangerous than those too.
GGG takes a few to make his way inside. I see him winning a come from behind stoppage. He doesnt always work when he gets in close. He doesnt move his head as much as he needs and will be eating straight lefts.
Before the leg injuries, Martinez showed a pretty good chin. Went to war with Williams, took the best Pavlik had to offer, etc.
GGG late round stoppage.....Martinez was a southpaw with deceptive power....Both would probably get dropped.
Martinez will be bloodied and battered. So will GGG with his hand raised.
martinez was there with pavlik for 12 rounds. so i don't think that power will be the main problem for him but more of GGG style. close fight imo but i think GGG body work and cutting of the ring would get to sergio sooner or later.
When Martinez was prime, Golovkin had a hard time with Ouma. That Golovkin vs prime Martinez would be an unpredictable fight. However nowadays Golovkin is on another level even to prime Martinez.
Ouma is a pretty good fighter some of these smaller lowkey names go under the radar because of that but a lot of these guys from Africa are tough as nails and only two people ever stopped Ouma I think it had more to do with stylistically Ouma being a southpaw and clearly possessing a granite chin that not even a prime Jermain Taylor could crack.
Prime vs prime:
Fight would be close through the early rounds, with Genna stalking, applying pressure and throwing shots to the body, and Sergio trying to outbox him off the back foot, using a lot of head movement and quick 2-3 punch combinations.
Rounds 6-8, the body shots start to take their toll, and Martinez slows down a bit. Golovkin starts landing heavy shots to the head. Sergio puts forth a valiant effort, but starts to get tagged hard and the fight is stopped by the ref in round 9.
I really wish we could've seen that fight. Not only would it have kept the lineal title alive, but it would have been a nice name on Golovkin's resume.
Golovkin hits too hard and is too good coming forward for Sergio, once he started to connect it would be the beginning of the end just like most other fighters. Sergio always had a leaky D even at his best.
I actually think Sergio's best chance is to land first, I think he definitely had the power/speed to hurt anyone including Golovkin. But this is got Tszyu-Judah written all over it.
