I have
1. Willie Pep
2.Benny Leonard
3. Nicolino Locche
4. Roberto Duran
5. Vasyl Lomachenko
Shout out to Steele, Tunney, GGG, Calzaghe, Buchanan, Winston, Malignaggi, and Tyson Fury.
noone mention JAMES TONEY?
Nope...to busy propping up fighters who fought in black and white.
Gotta show that pseudo knowledge of the sport and bring up fighters we've never seen to give the illusion that we know what we're talking about.
No he did not. It was a controversial win for Pastrano. I had Johnson winning but it was no domination. It was a technical masterclass from both men. One of boxing greatest fights. Up there with Maccallum-Kalambay.
I suggest you freshen your memory.
Don't need my memory refreshed.
Johnson clearly won the fight by a wide margin and it's widely considered one of the worst robberies amongst historians.
I gave Pastrano 3 rounds and that was being generous.
Technical masterclass from Pastrano? Don't make me laugh. He ran for literally the entire fight, did almost nothing of note barely three any punches.
Johnson dominated Pastrano :dunno:

Great list aside from Loma. He's great, but it's too early to throw him up there yet. I'd go with Joe Gans.
I used Loma as click bait ;-)
Not enough footage of Gans but what we do have he looks fantastic
Napoles is more deserving to be there than Pea.
Duran and Loma aren't. Pea has to be top five as far as defensive slickness. In his prime his body movement was just as superb as any of the old guys we have footage of.
Pep actually slipped punches and had great upper body movment. Yeah he back peddled a lot but not literally constantly.
I don't agree with you that Pastrano had slick counters nor would I call any punch he had "beautiful"
Youve just hurt my eyes with that post. Im off to watch Johnson-Pastrano to cure them
We shall agree to disagree.
You have a point but no one moans about Pep doing the same? Pastrano also had a beautiful left hand with double/tripple jabs and slick counters.

Best list so far but I think on who hasn't been mentioned and tragically so is Camacho sr. In his prime he was great boxer and hard to hit.
Great shout. Also Vicente Saldivar and Saldavor Sanchez
I wouldn't consider literally running non stop as "slick"

Not mention of Wilfred "El Radar" Benitez here???hmm.
good shout...short prime though...wish he had more discipline, couldve been a top 20 type all timer
As others are mentioning in this thread, based on who I've seen personally I would go with
Sweet Pea
Prince Naseem
Roy Jones
Mayweather
Rigondeaux
Even though I already know what the TS is trying to do with this list but he is only making himself look SILLY :nonono:

I mentioned Tunney. Check out the first post of thread.
Another who deserves a mention is Willie Pastrano.

66 posts so far and no mention of...
Gene Tunney
and
Tommy Loughran
