"We're close to finalizing an opponent. We have a short list. We're very close. We'll be announcing it shortly but one of the guys we were interested in was (Manny) Pacquiao. We'd love to do a Pacquiao fight but from what we hear he has a deal to fight Adrien Broner," Eric Gomez told BoxingScene.com.
Pacquiao would toy with Broner.
That said, he's not coming back is he? That chapter is closed now.
He'd most likely get toyed with.

manny pacquiao could beat adren broner with his shoe laces tied together and a patch over both eyes....this fight is not gonna happen but if it does i will dye laughing
imagine a prime pac vs broner ....BRUTAL stoppage cotto type
Fast hands and reflexes and footwork (we he displays it which is rare)
Look to me AB is what we call a practice player. Meaning in practice you see all of the gifts but in the game those gifts are rarely displayed. In sparring you see it but it doesn't translate to fight night.
You know why ? because Sparring isnt fighting , when he gets hit in the face he freeze when he gets bullied he freeze thats why he got beaten soundly , dont give me that "he puts on a show" he put no show covering all night and getting bulldozed by porter and maidana.
If you believe Pac loses to Broner you really need to get your head checked , dont put your house on that fight even if you see the godly odds you going to get for AB win , keep it.
This is for the other poster (troll) Kigali actually ....
If Haymon is going to cash out Broner and feed him to a welterweight to get beat it's going to be a haymon fighter that does it not Manny. And I don't see Manny coming out of retirement any time soon anyway. The time when this might of made sense was for Manny's last fight before election but Arum wanted to keep in a in house fight and foolishly chose Bradley. Broner vs Danny, Thurman, Spence, Khan all make more sense for Haymon.
If the fight did happen Manny wins a easy decision by outworking Broner who doesn't throw his hands enough and is way to easy to hit. Likely can't KO broner tho. Manny don't KO fighters no more and Broner took bombs from Maidana who is hits harder and still made it to the 12th. His beard is legit.
It'll be similar to when Roy Jones turned back the clock a bit against Lacy, Broner is so slow at transitioning into an offense that Pacquiao is gonna look like he's in his prime. Pacquiao stops him and don't give me this "He hasn't stopped anybody in so amount of years", he'll stop Broner.
That's not an excuse...that's what the fool did...and yes...he is dumb as fu.ck for doing that.
He didn't change or add a thing..Broner had zero respect for Maidana and thought it was business as usual.
Give Broner a bunch of recently beaten and drained fighters and he'll do what Pac did, even better.
What if Broner take them lightly?
Cotto at 145 would obliterate Broner.
Maidana(like most Argentines) throws crazy angled punches you just don't see coming...he still employs the right hook,a RARE punch in today's boxing.
The right hook is almost unheard of in modern boxing.
If I managed fighters I wouldn't let my guys anywhere near a fighter from Argentina.
I agree, but doesn't mean he would land it on Pac.
Pac is most akward and defensive than what people think.
Ask Floyd, he landed "only" 34% of his punches on Manny.
And compubox was quite generous with Floyd for that fight.
Floyd landed 54% in the first Maidana fight, and 46% on Alvarez.
Pac made Floyd miss quite a lot, at least more than usual.
I only remember Cotto making Floyd miss more because Cotto took away Floyd's jab.
Watch the olympic games (Something where AB wouldn't be able to touch gold), it's full of kids with fast hands, quick reflexes and footwrok.
Pratice player, OK, but against who?
Show me sparring where he compete Floyd, Manny, Danny or Mickey Garcia and MAYBE I will admit he can be elite in the gym.
And even, sparring doesn't mean sht, great fighters use sparring to perfect their game, not to win the rounds.
if it's agaisnt Stever Forbes or some mexicans face first sluggers..I won't buy it.
The problem with Broner is he can't compete with the elite because he's not serious enough and thinks too much of himself.
Boxing is 90% in the head, and Broner doesn't seem to be smart enough to be part of the creme de la creme.
I wish I was wrong because the more elite guys we have in the sport, the more happy I am (mostly if they face each other, anotther debate...)
That's why I say he's a practice player because what he does in sparring does not carry over to fight night. Like you stated sparring is to perfect their game. I feel he's done that but when the bell rings on fight night he forgets it all and tries to put on a show and be flashy with leaning back to avoid getting hit. Chin all the way up in the air. He knows what to do and is capable of doing it but for some reason he flops when he's expected to shine. With Manny Floyd Porter Thurman Garcia Peterson and just about every other WW you know Exactly what you're gonna get from them on fight night. With Broner you don't IMO
I agree with you on pacs flaws I just have become frustrated with AB pulling straight back or moving straight back to avoid a shot or attempt to defuse pressure when the correct thing to do is slip the shot or pressure latterally. When you see a fighter with so much talent lose a fight or fights because of simple siht or showboating when he should be focused I lose confidence in that fighter showing up for the big moment. Broner has done this twice. I think we can agree he should have beat porter and chino. But because of his performance in these two fights I question which AB will show up in his next big fight. For this reason I give Manny the nod .
FACTS
I can't rely on Broner being at his best because he's proven to not take the big fights serious

Pacman is a senator he can't leave his country for long periods at a time anymore so if he does return to the sport Im willing to bet his next fight takes place in his country. How cool would that be to see the greatest most exciting fighter of the last decade return to the ring .
I agree... I've been waiting to see BRONER back in the ring for a good few months now!
Soon as the bell rings Broner's game plan goes right out the window.
Exactly. You see it in every fight. He's too busy trying to put on a show. Instead of boxibg to win he starts to look for the one punch ko instead of settung it up. They work on this siht every camp and once the bell rings he gets amenesia.
Broner moved up and tried to fight Maidana like he did all those lightweights.
What would Pac look like against Maidana?
Face down again that's what.
Marcos throws blind alley right hands that would make JMM blush
So much excuses for Broner, "he tried to fight him like a lightweight."
THEN, Broner is DUMB AS FACK if he tried to fight a big welterweight like a lightweight.
I can't help the guy if he fails to realize he's moving up.
You really think Broner is a better fighter than Pacquiao?
You guys won't give credit to the Pacman.
He's has been taking some praise over your boxing heroe Floyd.
UNFORGETABLE
Broner isn't an elite fighter IMO, because he never was competitive at the elite level.
Mimicking an elite fighter doesn't make you elite.
