I am looking for boxing matches where a super tough boxer gets KO'd -- whether it was a quick flattening or a prolonged beatdown. I wonder if a boxer with James Toney-like chin and toughness has ever been KO'd. Do you know any matches like this? Thanks.
Amir Imam - Adrian Granados
I don't know how tough Imam was thought to be, but it was really fun to watch Granados outlast Imam's power and wear him down.
Klitschko's spirit, mind, and soul weren't broken down though. His skeleton and bones were still strong.
Do you really think he was deteriorating that bad?
Yes, his delicate white skin was falling apart but he was willing and able to travel to deeper waters with Lewis.
That's something I will never understand about boxing fans.
If someone get punched to the body, repeatedly, and ends up tiring, people won't say ''Oh, he only lost because his stamina was depleted."
If someone got tagged by a monstrous punch, and got knocked the f out, people would say ''Oh well, he only lost because he got caught."
Lennox worked his eye like an evil surgeon. Klitschko was not fit to continue the fight after the beating Lennox gave him. He was broken down to the point where there was a risk of blindness.
In no particular order:
Kostya Tszyu vs Vince Phillips
Kostya Tszyu vs Ricky Hatton
Maxim vs SRR
Lamotta vs SRR (St Valentines day massacre)
Haye vs Chisora
Walcott vs Marciano
Holyfield vs Tyson
Pacquiao vs Morales II
Pacquiao vs Barrera I
Schmeling vs Louis
Alex Arthur vs Michael Gomez
(not on the same scale but great fight and Arthur was a big prospect that was never the same)
Considering he was no longer fit to carry out the assigned task, yes: he was broken down.

Gatti fought De Le Hoya before his three fights with Mickey Ward retard. :lol1:
hahhaaa!! owned.
He should have said "De La Hoya fought Ivan Robinson's leftovers."
I don't think Cotto had such an invincible aura at the time of the Margarito fight. I recall him being wobbled badly and his chin questioned, but a lot of people wrote it off as weight drainage and saw him as rejuvenated and more dangerous at 147. It came as a surprise but for his sheer size and chin, Margarito himself was the guy who seemed unknockoutable at the time. And he had that aura of "Nobody can KO/TKO him" really destroyed by Mosley.
Was Klitschko broken down? Really? Plus, it was stopped on cuts...

Doesn't matter. He cracked his chin. Mayweather fought Oscar's leftovers.
De La Hoya loosened the pickle jar for Mayweather.
If we are using that logic then Hoya fought mickey wards left overs
Ali foreman
Great pick, also Ali Liston but those fights were probably fixed since Liston was mob Affiliated. The mob would pay guys to take dives for them when they were the favorites.
U all forgot about Hopkins vs Trinidad. Tito at the time was a undefeated monster coming into the fight. Brutally knocking everybody out. It was hard to watch cause Tito was my favorite at the time, but Hopkins did a number on him, outboxed him, took him to the deepest ocean and knocked him out.
