1: Both are undefeated. Wilder got more wins, though.
2: Both have high KO percentages. Wilder's is higher, though.
3: Both got padded records. Golovkin got a lot of mediocre wins with guys like Lemieux, Geale, Wade, Stevens, etc., while Wilder mainly has fought trash, but Wilder has 1 win, Stiverne, which is a better win than any win on Golovkin's record. Stiverne had only 1 unlucky KO loss from his early career and had otherwise beaten everyone he faced, mostly by KO, which included solid opponents like Arreola and Mitchell.
4: Both have a hard time finding good opponents. Golovkin is being ducked by a lot of guys, like Saul "155lbs" Alvarez, but he himself is not doing a lot to get them into the ring. Wilder tried to get Povetkin into the ring, but Povetkin didn't have the courage to do it without illegal substances, which halted the fight.
5: Golovkin is 34. His prime is ticking away. Wilder is 30. He got some good years left.
When the Heavy Weight Division get popular people like lil g and the smaller weight classes will be irrelevant in America.
For that to happen the best have to fight the best not pick some guy drinking Night Train in some alley to pad your KO record
Lemieux is a litte bit better than average, while Curtis Stevens is only tougher than average and not really that special a boxer.
But yeah, we agree on Stiverne being the best win on either resume. I'm not trying to bash Golovkin here, but facts are facts.
To be honest, I consider Lemieux on around the same level as Duhaupas.
Duhaupas is slightly better imo. I am not at all impressed with Lemiuex. Never have been pre or post his ggg fight.
I think ggg's best win is probably martin murray. That's a guy who I'd have right at or ahead of Duhuapas
wilder never duck nobody
povetkin was caught taking tons of steroids thats why wilder refusing to fight him , they gonna back that ****ing cheater
golovkin duck everyone, he duck ward , korvelev ,
Wilder has fought one top 10 rated HW in the past 3 years. Golovkin has fought (at that time) 6 top rated MWs in the past 3 years, plus the 11th rated Ishida.
Geale was #2 at MW when they fought, and GGG demolished him (TKO3).
I think GGG has fought more challenges at MW than Wilder has at HW. Gennady has just demolished them so easily it's easy to forget they're top MWs, belt holders and contenders.
Also GGG ducking Kovalev? Someone two weight classes above him? By that logic, Mayweather's ducking GGG.
Was that you who asked Dan Rafael the same question on his chat yesterday?
Jason Saint Louis
What makes Triple G such a threat? Having a hard time finding a Hall of Fame name on his resume. Because If the media is praising fighters for knocking out bums Wilder and Triple G deserve the same amount of praise
Dan Rafael, Make Canelo-GGG for September (12:49 PM)
Looks like somebody took their moron pills today! Congrats!
You guys comparing these two are just ridiculously retarded.
Comparing GGGs resume who cleaned out his division, who fought every Middleweight who dared to step into a ring with him, mostly Top 10 fighters, against Wilder who boxed fighters that were ranked outside of the Top 20 at heavyweight.
You guys have to realize that MW is the most frequented division, a ton of people walk around that weight and can trim down to middleweight while only very few people are heavyweights.
Stiverne is not better than any of GGG's best opponents, he's on par. Stiverne wasn't even stopped either.
Golovkin has the indisputably better record at the moment BUT they both have a lot of work to do and both are great fighters.
Okay. Stiverne has 1 loss against a guy that he should easily have been able to beat, while Lemieux has 2 of such losses. Stiverne's best win is Arreola. He beat him twice. Lemieux's best win is Hassan N'Dam. He beat him once. Stiverne went the distance against Wilder, Lemieux got stopped by Golovkin. Everything points toward Stiverne being a better fighter than Lemieux.
Or Wilder being much worse cause he failed to stop such a bum, who lost to a much worse fighter than Lemieux losses, struggled vs ancient Austin etc. Ndam + Rosado > 2x Arreola...
But you fail to prove that, consistently
Who asked him to go down to 155? Not Canelo, he just didn't wanna fight. 155 is retarded btw. 168 was offered to Froch, chavez. But that's all out of place in this thread, wtf are you doing Ts?

How is Stiverne better than Lemieux or Murray? You only say that because Stiverne is Wilder's ONLY win against a top 10-15 fighter. Wilder beating him is at best on par with Golovkin's wins over Murray/Lemieux/Geale ... which by the way were far more dominant wins than Wilder's win over Stiverne.
No one said that Stiverne is a high quality win. We're just saying that he's a better win than any of Golovkin's wins.
Why won't Golovkin go to 155lbs to fight the fat ginger and why won't he go to 168lbs to fight bigger opponents? He could just take 1 fight out of his usual weight to prove his worth. He is doing nothing to force good opponents upon himself.

A win over a much smaller guy who showed up with a big beer gut, and was so sluggish in the ring he tried to claim he was drugged is not a win to hold over anything Golovkin has.

6-7 months ago the heavyweight division was 'nothing but bums' according to almost every poster on this website. Now Stiverne is a high quality win? I don't think so.

That's true. Imagine if Anthony Joshua knocks out Breazale, which I'm sure he will, and then knocks out Wilder and Fury (I'm confident that Fury will beat Wladimir), then he will have knocked out 6 undefeated opponents in a row and if he added a few undefeated cherries to the list, like Luis Ortiz and Lucas Browne, then I would consider him the best ever. Imagine him doing all the things above with ease, knocking out all those undefeated opponents. He would be an instant legend.
Jesus... Wilder, Fury, Ortiz knockouts on one record? At that point, fuck it, just shut the division down for a few years :lol1:
That would be insanity. But I'd love to see any one of those guys become a dominant monster. Maybe a few of em can even have some epic trilogies.
It was about as legit as Lemieux winning his belt though Ndam is probably more legit than Arreola
Its close. But Stiverne really took the title in stunning fashion. Not to say he was a legit champ after that, of course. But he took the title convincingly from a guy who I think had a higher pedigree than Ndam. Just opinions though.
I'm excited by guys like Wilder, GGG, Kovalev, Joshua and Ward because they have so many legitimate challenges in front of them and a chance to truly rise to greatness and re-ignite the sport in this newer era.
I expect there to be an undisputed P4P King by the end of next year.

Golovkin's arguably best win, Lemieux, is arguably on the same level as Duhaupas. So nah.
That makes no sense, but you're a very dumb alt so it makes sense in a bigger picture
