Floyd vs Connor easy. It's an obvious money grab and safe fight for Floyd. Had he come out of retirement for a fight with ggg, Thurman, or another elite prime fighter then you can't trash him. But he is coming out of retirement to fight an MMA fighter in the boxing ring. He is going to toy with him and dance his way to an easy 12 round UD. That's such a disgrace to the sport that made him all the money he has. Floyd should just stay retired. He loses mass respect for coming out for this sham. If Floyd had any self respecr he would do a two fight deal with Connor the second being an MMA match in the octagon. If he were to lose it would be at a sport he hasn't really tried. So he has nothing to lose. But we all know that's not going to happen. Anyone that says any different is just a f lo mo.
Manny fighting in the olympics is somewhat embarrassing but at least he will be fighting young men who have been in the ring boxing not another combat sport.
Manny going to the Olympics is worst, hell I have no respect at all for Hassan n'dam since he tried it in Rio. He got beat! Now he's being allowed to fight eliminates for pro belts again... He should have been banned from any pro rankings for jumping across
I have no problem with the McGregor fight though, remember the context of how boxing operates.. VVVV
Thanks man, I appreciate you! :beerchug:
Yoo....do you know Bryan Barkley from your home port?
(He was my 41st-and-final amateur boxing match Jan. 2, 1988 at Bay City)
Or do you know Bill Christman?
L-3 that one. Was 25-11-1 and my final four amateur were: Robert Perez L-3 (156lb soon will W-3 mMoorer) Ted James (in Canada), L-3 Robert Britt L-3 & Bryon there.
Britt W-12 Nicky Walker pro. Walker a Top-6 contender for a while who fought for world title. Bryon W-8 Saoul Mamby you probably know if you know him....but...he disintegrated basically after going inactive and returns at HVY.-Wt. and meets at least one "killer name" and one fame medium guy too....... He has only two defeats in about 22 match record when we met. Bill wrote me and says......
Hey bud you do understand you've had guys like Rigo and Lomachenko who've been in multiple Olympic games right? They could have beaten 99% of any pros that entered the competition and I'm sure there are amateurs that could beat many pro fighters right now...
Your logic DOES make SENSE of course. But...........Idk. It's been the way it is for so very long time now. Personally I think their shouldn't be going back.........................,,,,,,,,
Too many posts it seems to me are "too short". Persons trying only to be *short/cute on words. Much of what I will read on boxing forums and other wise too. But, you try to be comprehensive!
Thanks man, I appreciate you! :beerchug:
It would be damn funny to see pacquiao get beat by a teenager though which could easily happen. But then again Congressman Excuses would just say he isn't used to amateur rules and would have won in pro settings etc.
so, imagine what a win over an atg & 8 weight divisions champion does to a young amateur's career/life? will you deny him that? ha ha ha ha
A guy with no professional boxing experience as a sacrificial lamb to pass marciano's 49-0 against the best of his generation in this sport
vs
An atg beating on amateurs(kids) for a potential gold medal he doesn't need just for the hell of it.
Both of these encounters are a farce and a slap in the face of boxing.
Canelo and Povetkin isn't the first nor will it be the last time a fight or two doesn't get made.

But we already know who the best fighters in the world are. Rigo and loma are rare as Fuk. If manny is the only pro at WW in Olympics that's unfair to those with such little experience. He's an atg some of the guys might not even be fighting 4 years from now
If the best of the best fought at Olympics, the tip guys would be exactly what they are now. Brook Bradley Thurman etc. redundant
but that is not really true....
because of boxing politics and $$$ interests, we have not really seen the best against the best in pro boxing......too many fights have not come to pass because of greed...
seeing your answer here already makes it clear on where you stand. you didn't have to offer a this or that, you should've just made a thread complaining about your opinion and left it at that.
Here so you don't think I'm pulling out some pom poms for Floyd.
I think what Floyd is doing, whether he's serious or not, is absolutely pathetic. To fight an MMA fighter who barely has any amateur experience to begin with, has shown to be easily tagged against his opponents who have never fought professional boxing is one of the lamest things I've seen him do in his professional career. It's far worse than his choice of fighting Berto for #49. I didn't believe he was truly retired then, hence why I didn't buy the fight. Nor do I believe he'll retire after possibly fight Conor for #50
What's even more pathetic, IMO, is that it'll be sold across all sorts of platforms and people will buy into all the talking that Conor will eventually do only to see him make a complete fool of himself. Both of these options are pathetic. Both of these should have no one making excuses for. I ask you to vote and not get hurt because I didn't go on the offensive against Floyd in the post you quoted.
Point is how is it stealing when it's possible you could face guys like those 2 not to mention other countries sending thier own pro fighters to compete as well. It's obvious they want exposure, they did away with head gear and now they want pros to get involved..

Ok but what does that to do with what I said lol.
That's different. If all pros did it and it was accepted by all then ok. But until then manny and wlad or whoever shouldn't be trying to medal vs amateurs. This is boxing not basketball
"But until then manny and wlad or whoever shouldn't be trying to medal vs amateurs."
until then? i believe there is a set age limit......so no.....
when the olympics door open, pros who wish to join should walk in and join.....
will it be fair to those who wish to join to be held up just because others don't want to join?
Ok but what does that to do with what I said lol.

Besides pros fighting in the olympics is kind of redundant. We already know who the best pros are by rankings and championships. The point of Olympic boxing is who can be the best amateur.

steal? really?
now, will that be the case, say, if pros fight each other for an olympics medal?
if countries send their pros or their best fighters. will it not raise the games standards?

Well, NBA All Stars aren't being sent to the Olympics to punch a bunch of 19 year olds in the face, lol.
I agree with the second part, though.
How many 19 yo am boxers actually go to the Olympics?
Most of them are in their 20's or even 30's.
And if they allow pros, most his comp will be other countries pros too.
The PAC fan logic is astounding. Most guys won't even win a world title but an atg should get a chance to steal a medal from them? Lol

very well said....
i can not understand why people single out pac joining the olympics...
when the olympics boxing door opens, other pros can join, too...yes?
and even amateurs are not just plucked from their homes....
they have to go through tough qualifying rounds....
additionally, the age and amateur rules factors may set in...who knows?...
i don't see or hear such protests when young amateur fighters join the pro league....
