Ah ****. Yea me too, well a couple of his GG titles anyway. I miss watching the W-MI GG @ the Wyoming National Guard Armory since I moved.
I like Murat here, but rooting for Jordan.
Well we know how that turned out.....
On a side note they moved the W-MI GG from the National Guard Armory to the Delta Plex this year.
I don't think anyone will vacate before facing Gassiev. He's still a kid, and very unrefined. Calling him CW Golovkin does both fighters a disservice.
Gassiev is more like Tyson than Golovkin.. without the defense.
Great to see that we have a young upcoming star and k.o. artist in the CW division, Gassiev who is a good friend of GGG.
Let's see how he develops into a star and the former GGG haters will hate on this guy.
This guy will be mandatory for the Lebedev/Ramirez unification that is happening this weekend.
Will the winner vacate the belt to avoid Gassiev like Canelo dropped his belt?
Why do divisions other than 175 & 200 still exist
Haha exactly how I've felt about boxing for some time now.
If it wasn't for the CW division I'd probably have virtually zero interest in the sport with how it currently is.
Does a bigger guy (175+) ever get blasted like Shimmell did last night & have a elite level career later on?
I always think the worst part of those types of KO's is its hard to get your confidence back after that. There is always some primitive **** in boxing when you lose a fight that says somewhere in your brain that it means that person could have killed you, but there are lotsa disputable things going on in fights that you can lie to yourself concerning why you lost. You can't lie about nothing when a mfer puts you down like Shimmell got put down. Thats gotta f#ck with your head & make everything harder from then on.
Whatever the case, Gassiev is a bad motorscooter & someone everyone at 200 will be taking notice of soon if they aren't already.
Im ok! That loss/knock out sucks and is embarrassing but im ok. Thank you everybody for the support— Jordan Shimmell (@teamshimmell) May 18, 2016
only bad part is abel sanchez is gassiev's trainer.. fuk
PBC has Gassiev listed as 29 years old but Boxrec has him as 22. Does anyone know which is correct?
He's 22ish.
He fought on this German card (can't remember the main event) like 1.5ish years ago and he was like 20 years old.
The huge underdog that won tonight was Abell at +1000 to +1500 upsetting heavy favorite Nofire. That was the huge upset on this card. Heavy favorite Gassiev defeating Shimmel was expected.
Damn that much? Abell looked way sharper even with his 9 losses
The ko was surprisingly the num 1 play on sportscenter
Frightening K.O
A lot of fighters at CW have savage power especially these Eastern European fighters.
The division just keeps getting better and finally more and more are taking notice.
The top fighters and prospects just keep delivering brilliant fights and beautiful K.Os, I love it.

Exactly why Isiah Thomas QUIT vs Gassiev so that wouldn't happen to him :lol1: that dude goes for the kill with EVERY PUNCH and brings relentless Pressure
People was talking sh1t about the Cruiserweight Division because of a sh1t Card on Friday but this Division is as good as and as talented as it has been in YEARS!
Gassiev vs Tabiti could be something special in the future.

YES!!!!!!!
I love it.
I love seeing an upset.
Face of the cruuiserweight division my a$$!
Commentators are still speechless, that's when you know it was a real upset.
Was it even an upset? Shimmel lost to Isaiah thomas
