Do the majority of boxing fans not really care about Ward and Mayweather anymore?

Ward? I definitely want to see him vs Kovalev. Mayweather? Honestly, I could live the rest of my life, never see him fight again, & I'd die a happy man.

... Of course, but those two aren't very vocal to date... Plus: I don't think many believe that Ward will enter the same ring with Kovalev too soon... People need commitment and some drama... There's even less commitment going into Canelo/GGG but it is still the more alluring fight.

Mayweather retired and no one wants to see a rematch with Pac. Ward has to stay active against decent opposition to make some noise. Kovalev vs Ward is the most important fight in boxing right now but neither guy has star appeal. That said the winner of Kov/Ward is P4P #1 in my eyes.

Guys, social media isn't definite proof of anything. Not everyone uses social media and not everyone who does votes in polls like these. 21,946 is a large number of people individually, but collectively, it's still a very small sample of the overall boxing public. I'm sure casuals would eat up a rematch between Mayweather and Pacquiao before they would the other two fights. I personally though, am far more interested in seeing the other two fights (especially Canelo vs GGG) over it.

You gotta realize GGG he is well known and Canelo is even more well known... Now here comes the hard bit Kovalev doesn't have that big massive following he is great to watch and really talented but he isn't marketed right. Andre Ward I dunno what to say about him I think people have seen the lies and hype around Floyd about how good he is and that and they see past it, fans are in it for the short term they don't care about someone taking zero risks to be a great you've got to prove it in an EMPHATIC fashion something Ward has never done so once again his own fault. GGG Vs. Canelo would decide the P4P 1 crown not Sergey Kovalev Vs. Ward.Pretty much, nobody outside of Oakland gives a **** about ward. Even here, nobody cared about ward until G showed up and said "mayweather".

GGG vs Canelo is my most anticipated fight, but Ward vs. Kovalev is a very very close second.

To me GGG and Canelo are wonderful fighters to watch. GGG ends every fight with a KO win. Canelo comes to fight and he is rarely in a dull fight. A fight between them almost has to be a bloody war. I heavily favor GGG to win but I think Canelo has a better chance to win than any other middleweight. I think this is THE fight. My three favorite fighters are GGG, Canelo and Kovalev so I hate to see any of them lose a fight. Ward vs Kovalev is a great fight because they are both so good. It's almost impossible for a fight with Kovalev in it not to be exciting. To me no fight Mayweather is likely to take compares with either of these fights. Hell, the Postol vs Crawford fight interests me more than any comeback fight Mayweather is likely to have.

Mayweather is old and past prime so if he loses whoever beat him didn't beat the real Mayweather. He is a great fighter so I am interested if he comes back but not as much as when he was in his prime. My interest in him would depend a lot on how good of opponent he was fighting. If it's Garcia I think Mayweather is very close to a sure thing to win so my only interest would be in how hard or easy it was for him to win. I am positive he won't risk a fight with the larger Canelo or GGG at any weight they can make. If he did fight either of them at 154 I would be very interested. If he fought Brook, the Thurman-Porter winner or Pacquiao I would be interested. Ward is still in his late prime so whoever fights him is fighting him at nearly his best. I am as interested in Ward as I ever have been. I am extremely interested in his fight with Kovalev because Kovalev is one of my favorite fighters.

If it ain't Floyd it's his Family, Clothes, or what he had for dinner. So what does that tell you. 3. Don't be stupid like many of the trolls on here. That Poll only states that Dan Rafael fans would prefer Golovkin Canelo over the other fights.

unfortunately kovalev and ward just don't have the broad appeal that canelo and GGG do. and the latter will probably be the more action-packed fight as well. this is why it was madness for some people to expect GGG to abandon MW when he's on the cusp of the canelo showdown also i think HBO should have secured bigger names for kovalev and ward this summer for their final tune-ups. e.g. dawson for kovalev and chavez jr for ward. they don't need solid tests right now, they just need to get their names out there. fighting some boring african on a monday night in some random russian village isn't good promotion

It'd be kinda weird if two retired guys were the #1 fight people wanted to see. And its awkward for Ward & Kovalev to be 3rd behind two retired guys honestly. But I mean boxing fans wanna see what they wanna see & for sure GGG vs Canelo is the best fight to make in boxing. Kovalev vs Ward doesn't suck, Floyd vs Manny wouldn't suck, but for sure GGG vs Canelo is THE FIGHT to make in boxing right now. What this guy said.

It doesn't mean they don't care, it's more that those fights are much better than Mayweather-Pacquiao II, the first was a letdown for many.
