Max is wrong on Pacquiao being greater than Mayweather pound for pound in an all time great conversation. His argument is that even though Mayweather is the better boxer head to head Pacquiao is the greater fighter pound for pound because he came from a smaller weight class. His argument has several holes and here is why.
He claims that Pacquiao started at 106 pounds and moved up to light middleweight and became champion. What he is forgetting is that Mayweather also fought as low as 106 pounds, the only difference between the two was that Manny was pro and Floyd was still fighting in the amateurs. Remember Floyd was a three time national champion at three different weight classes before turning pro.
He seems to be ignoring the fact that Manny was brutally knocked out twice before even getting to 130 pounds. How can Manny be greater pound for pound if he has been knocked out twice by guys smaller and less accomplished than Floyd? How can a man who has been defeated multiple times in multiple weight classes be greater than a man who has not been defeated in any weight class?
And the final hole in his argument is that he seems to be ignoring the result of Mayweather Pacquiao. Every time Manny would fight he would ask Manny about Floyd and vice versa. HBO built that fight up for 6 years and now they are pretending as if the result of the fight doesn't matter. Floyd beat Manny and easily beat a guy who also beat Manny in Marquez. Both Manny and Floyd had a weight advantage over Marquez in their last fights against him. So please don't use the weight excuse.
Using Max's logic, Holyfield is greater than Ali. Evander Holyfield came from light heavyweight and became the four time heavyweight champion. Muhammad Ali fought his whole professional career at heavyweight and was only a three time heavyweight champion of the world. Does that make Holyfield greater pound for pound than Muhammad Ali? NO
Floyd is undefeated and got some great wins. I rank him higher than Manny although I am a fan of latter. But I always respected Manny as one of the best if not the best offensive fighter out there. Look at how he handled Cotto vs how Floyd handled Cotto. He put on a beatdown on Miguel unlike Floyd, but then you can watch the Marquez fights. One loss aside, Manny had several knockdowns and showcased that offensive ability but Mayweather himself showed superior boxing skills, making JMM looking like a fool at certain points
They are very different fighters, but both can and should be respected
In my mind, Manny was/is a devastating fighter, Floyd is the superb boxer
So why beg for a pedquaio rematch.

Who's begging?
Froid roid needs to redeem himself for all those years of snoozefests as teddy atlas has explained thoroughly fl0tard. I merely want to see Pac embarrass this IV user with 2 healthy arms, If its too hard to ask. It's fine by me if rematch doesnt happen. Pac's legacy is already etched in stone anyways.
While Floyd's cherry picking to the last drop is well documented and will forever be a part of his manufactured résumé
Cheers! :unitedsta
Lol what you need to know. Teddy is a Pac hater ever since, he hated pac and even accused Pac of taking peds without proof on national tv. That to most shows unprofessional journalism and only shows hate.
Now the big difference is, even though teddy is a known Floyd supporter. He says this thoughts about him. What this tells us is his candidly real thoughts of a man who he supports. Shows real thoughts and not a taint of biased in these thoughts.
Teddy said about why boring Floyd should stay retired.
Teddy Atlas calls Floyd's style TV unfriendly and leaves paying customers disappointed
Teddy Atlas: The way that fight went ( referring to Pac/Floyd fight) and the styles of the two fighters, one guy that can be aggressive and the other fighter who takes the air out of the ball. Mayweather fights a defensive fight, he doesn’t take chances. I love Floyd, but it is what it is, he fights a careful fight, he disarms you, he doesn’t fight a TV friendly fight.
Teddy Atlas: When people want to pay for something that happened already, they want the hope that it’s going to be interesting, that it’s going to be a barn burner, that there’s going to be flames. When Floyd fights, he does the opposite, he puts the flames out. I just don’t see the market for that fight.
# Floyd's TV unfriendly boring style not suitable for ppv.
# Floyd's the culprit he should just stay retired if he can't give the viewers their money's worth.
So why beg for a pedquaio rematch.

I'm really not taking anything away from Pacquaio....however all the fights were with flawed fighters.......all these guys were just perfect matches for him.....De La Hoya was a shot fighter......Hatton was made to order.....Cotto was mentally and physically shot.....Clottey tried to imitate an Everlast heavybag. All these guys were perfectly suited for Pacquaio and almost to the point......for some strange reason were very cooperatively with Pacquiao throughout the fight. Like I have said, these fighters were very, very, compromised in many ways and Pacquiao was able to take advantage of the situations.

So the answer is no. You can not offer anything but the opinion of others to support your own opinion.
That's pathetic.
how could you be so dense?.....
when i offered my opinion, you don't believe me.....and you say it's disrespectful....and that it's just from a fan who dksab, something to that effect....
when i point to the fact that some boxing experts share my opinion that is opposed to your opinion, you say pathetic.....
now, do i take your word as gospel truth or the opinions of people who breathe and eat boxing?
and why not go back to floyd's health comes first mantra?....floyd dksab too?
So the answer is no. You can not offer anything but the opinion of others to support your own opinion.
That's pathetic.
What Tangalog is saying to you is respect others opinion. Not everyone is a Floyd jizzguzzler like you. ;)
i won't get into that 15 ppv mumbo jumbo...
let me just clarify below, and i quote:
"If not then it's the typical butthurt pact@rd general rhetoric coming from a fan who doesn't know **** about boxing.
That's disrespectful."
now, are atlas, nacho, holyfield, jordan, max, roberto, mike, and jmm just to name a few butthurt pact@rds? were they disrespectful towards floyd?

You don't know what travestny means by disrespectful?
Lets start with just Floyds 15 ppv fights.
Can you specifically name at least 8 out of the 15 (which would be most/majority) fights you felt were "boring snooze fest ECT ECT"?

there is a very big difference between avoiding punches while fighting....
and avoiding punches by not really fighting or engaging....
Nacho describes why floyd's vagina boxing was bad for boxing.
About the Pac/may fight:
Nacho about Floyd: The kid caved. Over defensive on the most important fight of his life.
"He knew he was supported by the judges to give a luck luster fight."
"He (floyd) lost so much credibility"
"the only one throwing punches was Pacquiao"
"how can they gave the rounds to a guy who even looks ridiculous running away scared?"
"or giving hugs to turn off the fight?"
# rematch written all over the place. Floyd needs to redeem himself with this poor display of boxing.

disrespectful? in what way?
come on, most of floyd's fights were considered boring, snooze fest etc etc etc....

If their favorite "fighters" could avoid punches like Floyd can, they'd likely do it, too. So many keyboard warriors here.

Are you saying Floyd never bites down when he has to?
Go watch the Mosley fight again and look at him pushing Mosley back with still unsteady legs. Come on, now. You guys are so disrespectful toward him.
disrespectful? in what way?
floyd wins were considered by his fans as schooling, as a master display of floyd's boxing skills....so be it....
come on, most of floyd's fights were considered boring, snooze fest etc etc etc....
floyd himself admitted health comes first....i don't blame him....
but at the end of the day, why play the hurt business? why not play chess?
that's right, buddy!
but floyd's tactics include some moves that are illegal or dirty.....and i think you very well know what those were....but never mind that....
the point is floyd was too successful projecting himself a real fighter to most fans and judges..... but max knew the real floyd - one that seldom engaged in a real fight....
Pac is more exciting!
Why is it frowned upon to win a boxing match without "getting into a real fight?" Ask yourself, if you were a professional boxer and you had the ability to win without getting into a "real fight," would you?
Lol. Why won't Floyd let his opponents punch him in the face at will?
****ing dummies.
Why is it frowned upon to win a boxing match without "getting into a real fight?" Ask yourself, if you were a professional boxer and you had the ability to win without getting into a "real fight," would you?
Keep in mind that this is a sport that has the most serious consequences.
well, that is why in my books, a boxer is a boxer....
and a fighter is a fighter.....
two of a kind....both that i can appreciate....
and there are the great ones that box and fight no matter what....
you may call it foolishness on their part....
but that is what separates them from the rest.....the will to put all in the line...
