This is pretty good news, especially if GGG can't secure the Canelo fight. Haymon has some good MW's in his stable, including Danny Jacobs who destroyed Peter Quillin last year. Jacobs has expressed interest in fighting Golovkin quite a few times in the past, I wonder if Team GGG will pursue him for their next fight. Much better than fighting another Wade.
Jacobs better get back in the ring , Jacobs shouldn't wait for GGG , Jacobs is the 3rd option (WBC & WBO champion are his first)
He hasnt fought in almost a year, waiting 2 more weeks to have the chance to fight for the real MW championship belt and getting to fight one of the biggest stars in the sport should be worth it.
Hopefully Jacobs is not fighting Lee in July, otherwise we wont be able to see that fight in the summer. Would be a shame if they make that fight now when its obvious he has a good chance of fighting for the real WBA belt against GGG.
Lee was atrocious against Saunders, didnt even throw a punch.

What wrong with it? qt 160 its
#1 GGG vs Canelo
#2 GGG vs Saunders
#3 GGG vs Jacobs
Omowale Tribe is a known GGG detractor... and anything GGG does is wrong. so that's why he is asking... that's my guess at least.
I've always said that Jacobs is the toughest challenge for GGG at middleweight. He has the power and the skills to make it one hell of a fight and if anyone can put GGG down its Jacobs.
forget Canelo, forget BJS... they have the belts and they are good fighters and Canelo is the biggest name but the toughest one would be Jacobs.
Correction, Caleb Truax landed a good punch that registered over 700 psi. No, Jacobs was never hurt.
Just because you land a punch right on the button, that doesn't mean hurt. Jacobs never wobbled, danced, or did anything of the sort, but you're saying he hurt Jacobs?
Jacobs is chinny, I don't know why you are trying to go against the grain. 90% of the forum says the same thing.
Jacobs has had 32 fights and been dropped twice.
You guys and this chin schit
Caleb Truax also hurt him.
But that's not how you tell if a fighter has a weak chin, by just saying "Oh 30 fights and only been down 3 times".
Right from the start you have to eliminate more than half of those 30 fights due to them being "bummy" fights. Fights where you are not even supposed to go down. First step up fight was his 19th fight, Ishe Smith, that's where you start.
It is a good thing for loeffler to have in his back pocket for whenever their contract runs out, especially if HBO keeps dicking around with making the fights Golovkin wants like they have with 3 different fighters already.
Loeffler has always said this. This is why I laugh when people against Lara-GGG say it's because of Haymon. Loeffler himself clearly said it's not because of Haymon or networks, it's simply because of money, Lara doesn't bring any money to the table, that's what he said. This is the second interview that I see Loeffler say he has a good relationship with Haymon, the first one I saw was the Lara one.
Exactly. For some reason, the Lara fight terrifies the fanboys, so they're quick to find excuses for it not to happen.
If only Jacobs had a chin, this would be a great fight.
It's a good fight still but I can't see Jacobs chin holding up to Golovkin's power and see him getting stopped early.
Barely held up to Mora's power, so yeah you are right. Let's just hope he can make it a little exciting where Lemiuex failed to, and that's land something good consistently.

Haymon doesn't sound like the problem as much as it is Espinoza. That little troll recently decided to insert himself in the middle of Jacobs/Golovkin. He ****-blocked Kovalev/Stevenson and now he intends to do the same with Jacobs/Golovkin.
The little *sshole sees GGG as one of HBO's biggest names and wants to prevent them from having any big fights for him if he can help it.

Showtime boxing chief Stephen Espinoza has from a distance admired the work of middleweight knockout artist Gennady Golovkin. But he thinks Golovkin may be running out of opponents.
While Golovkin is signed exclusively to HBO, Espinoza spoke enthusiastically of a matchup between IBF/WBA titleholder Golovkin and Danny Jacobs, the WBA’s “regular” champion. Espinoza cast doubt on Canelo Alvarez facing his mandatory Golovkin (35-0, 32 knockouts) this year, paving the way he hopes for a potential match with Jacobs, who usually fights on Showtime and PBC cards.
“What he’s done is impressive,” Espinoza told ******.com on Tuesday of Golovkin, who destroyed Dominic Wade in two rounds on Saturday. “He hasn’t fought a Murderers Row (of opponents). But he has clearly been really effective against everyone who’s been put in front of him, and you can’t really ask for more than that.”
The WBA has recently said that if Alvarez doesn’t agree to face his mandatory Golovkin in the fall, it would try to make Golovkin face Jacobs (31-1, 28 KOs) in an attempt to consolidate the WBA middleweight titles. If that happens, HBO and Showtime would presumably have to figure out the mechanics of a joint broadcast.
“It doesn’t sound like Golovkin-Canelo is imminent so I know there was talk of Golovkin-Jacobs being ordered, which I think obviously is a marquee fight if that goes to a purse bid or a mandatory,” Espinoza said. “I hope we can avoid some sort of network conflict because that is I think one of the more interesting fights left at 160. I’m not sure what else there is for (Golovkin) to do at 160, given where the division as a whole is right now.”

There is a difference between Haymon making fights with intended cannon fodder like Martin, Wade or C level no hopers compared to boxers he views as valuable even within PBC ranks. I don't think he would make that fight in general but thankfully the WBA trinket makes it a mandatory and forces their hand. We should see it before 2016 is out or he'll have to pull a Quillin and drop his strap.
If only Jacobs had a chin, this would be a great fight.
