Yea there is absolutely no was to excuse this sh1t of a fight...IBF should have fvcked off on this one
They followed their rules. And if they didnt, and instead "decided" that Wade was not qualified, you would be the first one here whining about how a Haymon fighter got screwed out of his rightful fight by the IBF, that they must have seen something in Wade so they are protecting their boy GGG, and blah blah blah......
Barrera is not the same. He had several fights at 175 and fought in an IBF title eliminator. Wade has never made the 160 limit, hasn't fought in a year because he was on house arrest for drunk driving and has never won a title eliminator, never fought in a scheduled 12 round fight and arguably lost his last fight.
This is the first time ever, he has had a full training camp where he had to make 160 and prepare for a 12 round professional fight.
Absolutely disgraceful. Typical "but but but Ward doe" bull**** from the Gullible Gennady Groupies.

Barrera was kinda the same and people praised Ward vs Barrera. Didn't you guys praise the belt ratings to justify that fight? Barrera wasn't in the Ring and other top 10 ratings either.
Ward/Floyd fanboys are the type that would try and sell you a fake gold chain at the gas station and car wash. That's what I saw when you guys hyped the last 3 of Ward's fights and soon to be 4th tune up.
Barrera was Kovalevs mandatory and would have gotten hurt aswell,,,Wade is not even Golovkins madatory he was ranked #3 in the IBF rankings
Yes, it was a joke. I mean Dominic Wade is being ****ted on a bit harder than necessary, but there is no question that this is a huge mismatch and that the IBF's rules need to be adjusted to avoid these kind of mandos. I mean Wade wasn't even really the mando, what they should have done is order an eliminator with Dominic Wade or hold off on the mandatory requirement all together.
Halleluja. Literally nobody wants to see this chit fight.
Damn GGG turned 34, most boxers are shot at that age, he's wasting whatever's left in the tank on C level nobodies (Monroe, Wade, Tureano).
And Golovkin is scared to be.GGG isn't afraid of anything. He knows no fear. I hate to say this because I have always been a big fan of Canelo but he seems to be very much afraid to fight GGG at the standard, correct, traditional 160 pounds. Canelo is the lineal middleweight champ of the world and it's time he starts acting like it or give the title up. He won the title from Cotto who ducked GGG big time and now he is doing the same thing. Canelo should be fighting GGG and not Khan this May. GGG has been ready 1st for Martinez then for Cotto and now for Canelo. He isn't afraid. They are.
This is the type of fight that is putting our sport in jeopardy.
One day these HBO mismatches is going get boxing banned in America. Don't put a novice in the ring with a power puncher for a cheap KO.
IBF is just doing there job so I can't really fault them too much there. That said Wade's team should have decided not to take this fight at all no matter how big the reward. You know when you can't beat someone and you know when someone that you train with or are training can't beat someone. From what I've seen of Wade so far nothing tells me that he has a chance though I could be wrong. From what I have seen though it looks like this kid either gets stopped early or is getting badly beaten which isn't good for a young fighter if they are clearly not ready this caliber of opponent. No matter what someone thinks about Golovkin's hype whether deserved or not you have to admit that at Middleweight he isn't an easy task for anyone and he is likely favored to win by stoppage over all the other top MW's and Wade isn't a top MW.
Thats what happens when great fighters fight real poor opponents , and thats the point Wade should not be in this fight , when GGG finally retires we can say we seen him in a lot of exhibitions , what a waste of talent if you ask me .
Couldn't agree more...not only by fault of his own, but those unwilling to face him. Just another example of why the sport of boxing is so frustrating...and it seems to be getting worse.
The other thing that worries me is how vocal GGG has been, I think he's really frustrated and pissed and I really don't want to see this kid suffer for it.
People seem to forget or ignore Wade was not even the damn mandatory and has no business in the ring with GGG....dude is going to get seriously hurt
I think he's going to get killed.
I'm not a GGG groupie. I don't like the GGG vs Wade fight either. Can you tell me how many 12 round fights did Barrera had before Ward please?
The IBF eliminator was a scheduled 12 round fight like all world title eliminators are. Don't get cute and change my wording. You even bolded the word scheduled.
Tureano Johnson was injured so the IBF went to the next guy in line. The same guy that got a victory over a former IBF champ in his last fight.
They simply follow their rulebook, instead of bending or making up rules as they go along.

Way back before Glen Johnson scored a major upset over Roy Jones in 2004, he was the IBF mandatory after several fighters turned down oppurtunity to face Hopkins (sounds familiar) and the stage was set.
In 1997 Glen Johnson was a novice. He had very little amateur experience. In fact he hadn't start boxing until 20. Of his 32 wins, 90% of them had losing records. His most impressive win was over an undefeated fighter named Sam Gerr.
Who is Sam Gerr? Hell if I know I was only 4 at the time. I do know that every single one of his 23 win were against fighters with losing records or making their debut. But resume don't make fights.
So the stage was set, a world champion Bernard Hopkins made his 5th defense against a fighter who was not only inexperienced but had only gone 10 rounds once before against the before mention Gerr.
Needless to say Glen Johnson was beaten pillar to post by Hopkins, winning a grand total of 0 rounds on the official scorecards and was stopped in the 11th.
Afterwards Glen Johnson lost 9 more times and 7 years later before beating Roy Jones coming off a 2nd KO lost.
It's safe to say too much time had elapsed for the Hopkins win to mean anything and it's even more baffling people consider this a good win instead of a gross mismatch mandated by the IBF at the time.
But this is boxing and sometimes guys are put under the lights far too early for their own good.
Point of the story, let's atleast give Wade 7 years and 9 losses before we count him as a bum.
UNDEFEATED lion in his prime WITH power. Wade is at the peak of his career, no one has been able to beat him.
This is another EXTREMELY DANGEROUS fight like Curtis Stevens against a guy that HAS WON BY KO/TKO 7 out of his last 11 fights.
BUT Gennady is so great that he will make him look like nothing. Just like he has done against Murray (who humiliated Sergio Martinez), Curtis Stevens (the strongest MW after Gennady), Lemieux (one of the strongest punchers in boxing history), etc.
