Did anyone in the history of boxing have a more impressive resume after 6 fights?
In addition to that he tried to make fights with Rigo and Nicholas Walters
Fighters like these should be admired, Win or Lose he is by far the fighter who i have the utmost respect for. :boxing:

The decision was 100% correct. Ali was well past his best but he still hadn't lost officially for years. (Although some people felt he lost to Young and Norton but I don't want to derail this thread)
thanks PBP in that case i really appreciate your candid response. well ok definitely as far as the early resume Leon Spinks has the best 8 fight resume (as far as name recognition goes... especially if Ali was a shell of his prime)... That being said looking at his resume... you won't see anything like that now a days..
Damn that is more impressive, my only question is... because i lack knowledge in that area and because i can only go via boxrec was that this fight has taken place towards the tale end of Ali's reign... was he still impressive at that time and was the decision accurate?

Very impressive 6 fights in. That's why I'm a fan of dude.
Leon Spinks beating Ali at 6-0 probably surpasses tho.

He went through two Ol.Games and WSB... so it's not big deal as you think
he is definitely an experienced guy, but we all know that amateurs and WSB is different than the pros... i think he was fighting in 10 round fights in his first fight (i could be wrong) with smaller gloves then what WSB/amateurs offer.
Did I say that? Please point out where I said that?
It's just hilarious how you lament how boxers are treated............................... when you have done the EXACT thing you are lamenting.
ok you didn't say it but here is my point, i said that fighters get unfair criticisms because of race, you pointed out based on my thread history it was funny that i made that statement, thus alluding to (maybe i am wrong) that i also criticize fighters due to race. You said the same thing in this qoute so i am not sure i understand what you are referring to.
i have criticized a few fighters for a few of the things they do, and no fighter is above criticism but i assure you that it isn't race related... i never criticized fighter A for doing something that i go around and praise fighter B for doing it.
if i misunderstood your statement then please dumb it down for me.
Loma moved quickly because he stayed in the amateurs longer than most, so he wanted to make up for lost time (not because he was arrogant and thought he could beat everyone without any pro experience like some people think) and of course he wanted to make history.
No point in listening to the trolls or haters.
I wouldn't advise fighters to move up that fast and they shouldn't be pressured to. Everybody is different. I think that learning/building up stage is very important. Loma didn't really have that and has to learn it the hard way.
Also, Loma only fights twice a year now. That's not something you want.
I think early in pro careers fighters should be fighting at least 4 times a year.
While I do admire that Loma moved up fast, it does have it's consequences and like I said I wouldn't advise fighters to move up that fast.
I wish Loma would fight three or four times a year. He still has much to learn as a pro.
I'm still impressed that he did as well as he did against Salido, even though he lost. That fight was purely an experience issue for him, not a talent or skill issue.
oh i see, so because i am a big fan of GGG, Lomachenko, Paqiou, Kovalev then me saying that a lot of the hate could be race motivated makes it less true.
I love offensive fighters whoopti doo.

I just looked at some of the threads you have started...................... you gotta be kidding me with a comment like that.

the thing is with GGG is you can criticize his resume but its not due to the lack of trying that it isn't P4P worthy resume. i dont even crticize the resume but i can understand that it isn't P4P top 3... its more to do with GGG skills that he is in that spot.
With Loma you can't criticize sht... really can't, his resume is light years ahead of anyone who is even as far as their 20th fight (with a few exceptions), his resume is comparable to Rigo, with Rigo having the one Key win that Loma doesn't have, but the rest of the resume is comparable. Loma's style is beautiful, just gorgeous to watch, he isn't as offensive as GGG but he is an aggressive fighter who has crazy movement, great body puncher, great hand speed and combination... list goes on.
I know they do and that is the saddest part about our sports, fighters will always be hated on even if they do pretty much everything right. It is most likely a race thing though... even though no one likes to admit it.

Lomo & Rigo are cursed by their size and it's been like this for years. For Lomo to be active he needs to slid up to 130lbs and Rigo really can't go above 122 he is a very small man. It's shame theres not a real top ten of talent for these guys but thats the reality.
I have a new take on the GGG haters, their deeply in love with him! :luvbed:
His "resume" this and that, first off it's his "RECORD" he already has a job!
Secondly the guy comes in shape and ready to fight and if anyone out there thinks he "personally" picks who he fights you know NOTHING about fighters and even less about boxing.
Ray
As sad as it is, people still find ways to hate on the guy, even if it doesn't make sense at all.
