So we've seen his second heavyweight fighter lose his title. Wilder might lose his title in Russia. The Russians totally played them too by pretending they would offer Klitschko money to Wilder. He left McJoe Arroyo out to dry and he might get stripped of his title. Javier Fortuna is likely to lose his title if he goes through against Lomachenko (Klimas tweeted it's done). Khan, one of his best known fighters, is being fed to Canelo in May. I mean Khan is a sacrificial lamb. You'd think his advisor should know better.
All while getting sued multiple times, getting terrible ratings, and his fighters going back to Showtime (thanks for the free boxing, btw :bs2:). It's not looking good for him.
Man, he ran a good scam. People thought he could monopolize the sport, but he didn't even get halfway there before being stopped.
Hopefully, the Haymon fans don't kill themselves when he's gone.
This legit news or is he being Steve Kim lol
lol good point
I'm sure it's true. He trolls, but there's truth to pretty much what he says when he talks about the PBC
notice PBC has dumbed down there product. No more Sugar Ray, Al Michaels, entrance ramps etc.
Hopefully very soon. He's trying so hard to get black Americans interested in boxing by force feeding us fighters like the Charlos, Dirrells, Broner, Spence, Russell Jr., Davis, and so on, but black Americans don't attend boxing events or buy PPVs. Black Americans would rather spend all their money on clothes, shoes, eat out, and front at the club like they're rich for a night.
You don't see many black people at any sporting events for that matter. They're weird. They don't support their own by attending sporting events or buying PPVs and stuff like that, but best believe they'll use the accomplishments of those athletes they don't support as some sort of racial superiority theory.
Interesting post

Soooo, yeah, PBC telling employees to take some time off. Not sure if they will be asked back.... #boxing
...And you double down. **** man, stop watching boxing. You're so ignorant. Stick with watching Mayweather and the welterweight division. You have no business mentioning the lower class.
I'll triple down. I've seen McWilliams fight in person three times (on the Marquez-JuanMa undercard, the Salido-Lopez undercard, and the Martinez-Salido undercard); can you say the same?
I can categorically say that there is nothing in the ring or out of the ring that suggests that McWilliams is skilled enough to compete with the #1 P4P fighter in the sport - especially after a one-year layoff.
So yeah, Gonzalez-Arroyo is a mismatch.
Depends on your perspective. If we can have a Mayweather-Pacquiao type of fight live on NBC one day, it could increase the popularity of the sport. Leading to more talent in the sport one day. Look at how much more talent MMA has than say it did in 1995. The sport stagnated and fell to its lowest popularity ever in the hands of HBO and SHO.
Boxing will likely never be popular in America again, but the best fighting the best on NBC, CBS, and FOX gives it a better chance than HBO or PPV for $70.
Boxing will never be popular again?
Then neither will hockey, college basketball, MLB or much of golf programming. Excluding special events (Masters, opening day, playoffs, etc.), those sports regularly do tv ratings comparable to what boxing did in 2015.
CBS afternoon ratings for PBC were almost identical to most of their college basketball ratings...yet no one says college basketball is dying.
Of course it's a mismatch. The P4P best in the world vs. a 31-year-old guy with a 16-2 record who hasn't fought in a year.
Odds are 50-1.
Yes, it's a mismatch.

HBO's budget (and lack of fights) have nothing to do with Al Haymon and everything to do with Time Warner Cable's financial issues.
Try doing a little research next time, fanboy. :lol1: :lol1:
I don't like Haymon or Arum or any of those guys.
I don't know why any of you are fans of guys who don't even fight and are just crusty old accountants.
Just doesn't seem like it would be a big deal if one of them collapsed. The other would pick up their fighters.
"If you want PBC to collapse you hate the sport!" < BS. Not like Thurman etc would retire the next day. They would just jump ship.
None of this stuff matters AT ALL to us.
Which is kind the point.
This weekend's NBC card has a much smaller budget than some of their NBC fight cards last year.
Heck, it's got a smaller budget than some Spike cards last year...and Khan-Algieri is an example of it.
This year, we see Spence-Algieiri on NBC and Beterbiev-TBA on ESPN.
Seems like a step down.
It's obvious the money is getting dry. Fewer cards, long gaps between fights on these networks. When PBC launched they said these were going to be monthly series on these networks. Yet 4 month gaps for NBC, SPIKE and 8 months gap in the case for ESPN, Bounce might be canceled no card since like Jan. The overall purses on these shows are way down. Dan Rafael tweeted yesterday that for NBC Marv Albert, Bob Costas, Sugar Ray, Al Michaels are all gone. So they getting cheaper announcers too.
he was fighting khan who as a bigger fan base then spence

You're Al Haymon's lapdog, though.
Gonzalez- 100 to 1 mismatch vs the bad Arroyo.
You seriously wrote this? Wow, you obviously don't know **** about boxing. Gonzalez/Arroyo is a mismatch!? Man, you need to slap yourself.

I don't think Haymon will be leaving for a long time, but it is interesting to note the purses of this weekends NBC card.
Algieri made more fighting on Spike than he'll be making on NBC.

he was fighting khan who as a bigger fan base then spence

And I only stopped because I got kinda tired. But yeah, PBC taking our jobs doe.
Not looking for a fanboy argument -- its cool if you look up to Al Haymon or Bob Arum or any of those guys.
Was just saying its common sense. If you have a new competitor your own slice of the pie shrinks. If any of the factions caved in the fighters would just move to the others. No problem if PBC fails.
