Bradley: “I re-upped with Top Rank, because they’re the best in the business. 50 years in the business, still going strong.”
The sheet says that Manny Pacquiao has a $7,000,000 purse, and Tim Bradley a $4,000,000 purse.
Arthur Abraham will make $500,000 for his WBO super middleweight title defense against Gilberto Ramirez, who has a purse of $140,000. Ramirez, 24, is the undefeated mandatory challenger for the belt. The 36-year-old Abraham is looking to make his sixth successful defense of the belt that he won in 2014 from Robert Stieglitz.
is expected Manny Pacquiao is expected to earn around $20mil guaranteed for this fight but his overall earnings from his PPV share will be alot less than the previous two fights. Below are the details on how the fighters will be paid for the third showdown.
This is also Abraham's first fight on American soil since 2011, when he lost to Andre Ward in Oakland during Showtime's Super Six World Boxing Classic. It will be just the fourth time he's fought in the United States overall, and just his sixth fight outside of Germany overall, with his other "away" fights coming in Switzerland and Finland. It's the first world title opportunity for Ramirez, a Top Rank prospect and emerging contender.
Top featherweight prospect Oscar Valdez and former titleholder Evgeny Gradovich will each make $100,000 for their fight. Junior welterweight prospect Jose Ramirez will make $75,000 in the pay-per-view opener, compared to $34,000 for his opponent, Manny Perez
Not even the selectivity, but just the idea that Pacquiao is guaranteed $20m no matter what, which is so stupid. NO. He's guaranteed whatever he's guaranteed. The rest is PPV and depends on how much they sell. He may just end up taking $8-9m home.
Pacquiao is guaranteed 20 million. That is the minimum on his contract. Any moron with half a brain would know that Tim Bradley at 4 million wouldn't be guaranteed over 50% of Pacs guarantee when Pac is selling 90% of the ppvs. common sense people smh.
just like anyone with half a brain would know top rank couldn't lure abraham out of germany for 500,000 especially after they lost the purse bid on the fight.
Is the Abraham fight in the U.S. Or somewhere else?
We have different rules than those euro countries when it comes to that.
it is in the US and the answer is whatever is submitted to the commission is what has to be paid fight night. other payments can be made later on
Showtime guaranteed him 32 MM a fight. HBO isn't paying that kind of money. 20 MM after PPV split isn't too bad. I mean that is the atmosphere of the sport now, the legacy and expectation that Floyd left on the sport. A 7 MM guarantee and expected 20 MM eventual payday is laughed at and considered a ripoff.
I guess man, that is the kind of money star NFL players make and he can get that twice a year.
Yeah those Floyd ppv numbers days are over for awhile, boxing fans need to get that through there head.
A large % of boxing ppv sales comes from casual fans.
After Floyd/Pac's disappointing fight, casual fans want nothing to do with the sport. The media looks at the sport as a complete joke.
PPV sales won't be good for awhile, no matter who is fighting.
so answer why abraham is guaranteed over 1.2 mil but is listed as 500k? just proves my point even more?

Is the point of all this that Arum is ripping Pac off or is there something else to it? Does Pac represent something to some posters or does Arum represent something?
Sure, the scrubs on Boxing Scene can't laugh at a $7M payday. But Mayweather got $35M guaranteed for Berto. Pacquiao is getting $7M for Bradley.
Does it really seem kosher to you?

You guys still go by the Nevada sheets? lol it's like amnesia on NSB.
Bradley is expected to make $6m and Pac is expected his typical $20m
Exactly......

I agree. This fight is really uninteresting. All my friends are going to the Canelo khan fight instead
When the great and mighty Thomas Hauser spent significant chunks of Part II of his Haymon expose discussing filings differences for Thurman and Tarver and handwringing about the 'significant tax consequences if an inaccurate filing occurs', folks on this site ate it up as an some indictment of 'dirty business'.
It's funny how selective the indifference is on whether or not this is problematic, depending on WHO is doing it.

how much do the popular boxers in germany earn? I thought guys like sturm and abraham would earn around 1mio.
I'm suprised that he fights overseas with only 500k on the line.
he's guaranteed $20M.
from Dan Rafael.

"Top Rank has guaranteed Pacquiao $20 million for the fight, although his official purse -- and, therefore, his fight-night check -- will be for $7 million, according to the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Pacquiao will collect the remaining $13 million within a couple of weeks of the fight, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum told ESPN.com on Wednesday."
This is just the guaranteed pay. And if I was making 7m per fight, I'd be fighting for 10 more years. This money is a boxer's dream and its funny how people are making fun of it.
Depending on how successful the fight is he might make a lot more
yeah I read that. this fight has very little buzz so I don't know if they will sell alot.
the 7mil is only the money he getting on sat. It's already been reported he is getting 20mil guaranteed for this fight. That means Arum has already given some money to Manny as an advance and the rest he gets after the fight when they are done counting all the PPV numbers. He's likely getting less on the upside for the PPV buys then usual fights but I don't think this fight performs well at all. Whatever is the minimum he can make is all he is getting. Too many negative factors going into the fight spells PPV bomb. The numbers just don't add up for this fight to be successful. Bradley making 6mil and Manny making 20mil. You need well over 400k ppv buys just to break even. Mayweather vs Berto which also bombed and lost millions only did 400k ppv. I think this does less around 300K buys.
Of course it depends entirely on what his minimum is with Top Rank. If, for example, his minimum is $20m with Top Rank and the ppv is a flop, then top rank still owes him $20m. But I'm sure the contract is more of the lines of "if PPV sells X amount you get X amount" and so on, as I'm sure Top Rank is smart enough not to take a big loss. Regardless, the point I'm making is the Nevada sheet is not his guaranteed amount like OP claimed, it never is with Top Rank. Just like that left hook article mentions, we've seen guys have $1.00 on the Nevada sheets before and we know, of course, these guys didn't literally make one dollar.

SO Manny already got $2 mil, is guaranteed $5 mil more, and will get the rest later. Its more than I make but I figured he'd be making more.
