He obviously knows boxing seeing as how he apprenticed at the feet of the legendary Cus D'Amato.
But it seems like he stops Bradley every 5 seconds in order to correct something, it would be frustrating as hell to have to deal with that in my opinion. You never get a good flow going if you have to stop and start and stop constantly.
Atlas is a POS who tried to take credit for Cus D'amatos training techniques then lied about being a gold gloves champ in NJ when in fact he has never boxed a day in his life he even went to the extent of having one of his friends who was a journalist for the local paper write up an article but the NJ athletic comission wasnt willing to falsify records in his behalf. Moral of the story if atlas died today of a violent horrible brutal death it would be a good day in boxing
beautiful post and I say he gave himself the scar on his face he is that sick. he is the Curtis sliwa of boxing a self promoting fake
Why do you put the blame on Atlas?
Why is Atlas to blame for Bradley's loss?
I don't expect an unbiased response from you as you are a known Pactahrd.
I haven't heard it if he did, but I hope you, and anyone else aren't planning on blaming Atlas for the loss; it isn't his fault, as a trainer you can only do so much to prepare your fighter before the fight, and you can only do/say so much between rounds. It's up to your fighter to do his job on fight night.
Atlas is a tremendous trainer and one of the wisest boxing minds on the planet, last night doesn't change that with a Bradley loss or win.
because if timmy won the ego maniac atlas would take all the credit that's why

I'm not blaming him
I just knew he wouldn't make a difference in the pacquiao fight
This is the sort of thing Atlas thinks makes him sound cool. Wouldn't surprise me if it's nonsense. I've read his book and so much of the stuff he says sounds like B.S. Guy is a tool.

I'm not blaming him for the loss but I do want to hear what he thinks went wrong and what he might have changed or done differently.
Also I stand by what I said about him stopping Tim every 5 seconds. That style of coaching wouldn't be a good fit for me.
In my opinion it's much better to let a guy execute a sequence completely a few times then go back and have him make corrections. As opposed to having him pause and pause and pause, you don't build rhythm or flow that way. You're teaching him to move in pieces instead of in a fluid chain of coordinated motion.
Atlas is 100% full of shit. A self-aggrandising show pony. He's the most transparently self-promoting trainer in the sport, and I include Freddie Roach in that. Atlas knows how to promote himself and how to act like trainers do in movies, which appeals to some people. That fireman nonsense was classic Atlas. Absolute rubbish. Screaming canned lines at a fighter who was waltzing past his opponent with no trouble whatsoever. His whole personality is a gimmick, and no one would ever have heard of him if he hadn't been associated with Tyson.
I always thought Teddy was full of sh*t too. It's not that he doesn't know boxing, he does. It's just that his sensational ad hoc style is more on the side of entertainment rather than pure strategic breakdowns on how to win. For some people Teddy was good, like for instance Michael Moorer who had a self esteem problem and lack of a father figure growing up. Although once again this is all coming from Teddy haha, so it might very well be a entertaining spiel about what he believes rather then whats true
I knew teddy wouldn't make a difference
Why do you put the blame on Atlas?
but Bradley got beat up the worst in the 3 fights with Manny?? atlas is sheet

Has Teddy commented on the loss?

teddy needs to take the training wheels off and just let his fighter go. i think tim would of had more success last night had tim been more busier. not in the sense as being desperate and sloppy but busier as in throwing more combos and angles. tim looked more worried of what atlas is gonna yelled at him next.
Bradley threw more punches in the other 2 fights with diaz
Atlas was hired to teach Bradley something, apparently because Tim felt he needed to learn more. Let the teacher teach & the student learn.

He's too much of an attention seeking bullshitter I reckon.
exactly atlas an egomaniac has to have the spotlight on him. people came to see timmy but he tried to make it about him. the way he embarrassed timmy in front of all those people if it were me I would knock out atlas on video in front of the crowd
After Lalonde dropped him as his trainer before the SRL fight...Atlas literally waited outside his apartment with a gun intending to kill him which he admitted in his autobiography over the lose of his 20% of the 5 million $ payday Lalonde got.
He is mentally unstable and to much of a diva once he sees a camera. I can't stand listening to him and he has a tendency to go off on his fighters in a negative way...sometimes demoralizing them. I'll never forget him yelling at Micheal Grant asking him if he was a Mormon in between rounds. Grant got rid of him after that.

That's a good question. Atlas has had success as a trainer, but he's also had alot of guys leave him on not so good terms. Donny Lalonde is the best example.

That was me. Case in point, he was stepping in when he should have ben moving out of range. You need to correct that. You can moan about breaking a rythm but it's better than getting your jaw broke
Remember how I said you can't change a fighter at this stage? Bradley was no better than he ever was. Same fighter. The fight looked slightly different because Manny is fighting as more of a boxer puncher in his old age. But no improvement from Bradley. You've got Atlas giving him a million things to do in the corner as if a fighter can take that much on in a fight.
