How experienced or inexperienced was sullivan barrera.
He was arguably a prospect tonight imo he
is Slow , his game plan showed vast amounts of inexperience.
With kovalev being an 8 1/2
Sullivan barrera is a 4 imo.
Ward will do the opposite of what you think he will do and fight Kovalev on the inside. He'll bully him and rough up and show him that he is actually the physically stronger of the two.
The same thing happened to Carl Froch. Everyone said that Ward will have to box and move alot to win because they thought Froch was the bigger and stronger man and also the harder puncher.
The latter is true, but Ward came in there and showed everyone that he is the stronger man and bullied Froch on the inside the whole fight.
Ward is master of all trades, he'll do the opposite of what all you guys think he'll do and he'll pull it off and make it look easy.
Also, I don't understand why the people on nsb never learn. When it comes to guys like Floyd and Ward, it is quite frankly silly to predict that they will lose against so and so because of weaknesses you saw against so and so, because not only are they the kings of adjustments, but most of the time they only just do enough to win the fight, so it's basically impossible to say so and so will beat him because of what he did in a certain fight because you've actually not seen how powerful his engine is when he goes into sixth gear.
He'll just up his game a little if the opponent is dangerous and then do just enough to win and then you'll be left with egg on your face again.
Check out the praise that Floyd gave to Ricky Hatton. He said that Hatton was the only guy who ever 'forced' him to go for the knockout.
He told Hatton that he usually just lets the fight draw to it's conclusion once he gets into his rhythm, but praised Hatton for not allowing him to do that and forcing him to go all out.
Hatton is the one who revealed this information mind you.
Ward is the same type of guy. I understand if you think Kovalev will win, but don't say it's because of this and that, you should know better by now when it comes to these guys.
I understand that, and agree with a lot of that, maybe all.
However, all i said was he wouldn't allow Kovalev to freely hit him with jabs like Barrera did. He might fight the opposite at times to what people think, but he's way too smart and cautious to let Kovalev land shots that he shouldn't be landing. I do actually think he would fight Kovalev up close on the inside anyway. I think it's better to get him on the inside and smother him rather than let him get some distance and establish the range he likes to fight at. I never said he would be cautious in the sense he'll be running away from Kovalev, that's probably the worst thing he could do. Ward will probably make it a rough fight.

:bottle:
Ward is past it, he's not the same guy he was in the super 6, he's slower, gets hit more, more flat footed.
Kovalev will be bigger than all those guys you cited, much stronger, much harder puncher.... poor comparisons. This could be applicable with GGG but Kovalev is a different story.
Indeed. Completely agree.
I was just saying that Barrera has no real qualities that he excels in so he's easy for Ward to figure out and deal with. Froch was similar, although much better and on a different level to Barrera, he never had any real attributes or subtleties that could trouble Ward much.
Kovalev does i think. I think he's much more skilled and intelligent than some people realise. When you're that powerful, it's easy for people to forget everything else you do really well.
I'd say Ward has to be far better than he was tonight to beat Kovalev. He ate far too many jabs against a fighter who didn't even have a great jab. Kovalev wouldn't let him get away with that, although Ward would be extra cautious in that fight i think.

Monroe is underated imo. He is a 6
Rosado is a warrior. He is a 6 as well
Rubio is a 5
This thread is about sullivan barrera more so than ward.
Your thread would have been far more credible had you made it BEFORE the fight.
The fact that you only coming here with this crap after Barrera got schooled by Ward means only one thing...
"You aint nothing but hater number 2 270 095"
Kovalev got the straight punches and basics. He has a subtleties about him. he has Power and charisma... he is levels above a prospect like barrera who was vastly inexperienced. Kovalev and froch are polar opposites.
Kovalev uses his height and reach.

Barrera is garbage, I even said it before, no way this guy was winning, He did exactly what I said he would do, stay mid range, and throw one or two shots and back out.
This is a basic fighter, boring, boxed like he was taking a boxing class, basic textbook stupid stuff no improvisation, no feints, no setting up shots, no mixing it up, no angles no confusion, all telegraphed basica 1 2 3 garbage.
I don't think he's bad at all, he just has a style that is too easy for Ward to figure out and he doesn't have any elite attributes, he just does most things pretty well. A bit like Froch really. Of course i rate Froch higher but apart from his chin and toughness, i wouldn't say he had any real outstanding qualities as a boxer, even though he was very good overall. That just isn't good enough when fighting a guy with Ward's IQ and skill set.
He won't run into any more fighters who can do what Ward can do, so i think he could still beat some good fighters.

285-27 amateur record including wins over Chad Dawson and Beibut Shumenov. Two time Cuban amateur champ. Sparring partner for Golovkin and 17 pro fights. He may not be a seasoned veteran but I think he has plenty of experience.
Not everyone that goes pro does good.
