He's looking to finalize a PPV with: Crawford/Postol Ramirez 1st title defense if he beats AA Jessie Vargas vs. TBA All Postol asked for was a neutral location so it looks like it will be in LA. Arum said :lol1: the Crawford-Postol fight is close to being made. “We’re discussing it with both of them and trying to get the numbers right,” Arum said. “Negotiations are going on and we’re getting very close.” Arum said one of the conditions Postol asked for was that the fight not be in Omaha, Nebraska, Crawford’s hometown. Arum said agreeing to that was no problem. I don't see how 30K viewers for the biggest fight of his career up to this point is a positive thing. There's no other choice. HBO can't afford it and his promoter burned bridges with the other network. It's PPV, not fight at all, take a pay cut or fight a bum that HBO can squeeze into it's budget.

In the fightyhype interview, Arum was very cryptic with his message that the opponent will be "tougher than Ruslan". For all we know he could be setting up a fight with Matthysse, which would really be an embarrassment. Arum doesn't have a lot of options when you look at the 140 lb landscape. Herrera is booked, Ruslan is gone, he's stuck with Postol or Matthysse. Let's hope he does the right thing and chooses Postol.

I love this fight obviously, but it's not PPV worthy. They would have to put together a supercard. If Loma-Walters was the co main, then sure.

Look at what happened to Golovkin when they went PPV too soon. How weird. Explain why the Forum is opening up sections for this fight that have never been used for any boxing event. Says to me, the laughingstock of the sport is a must see ticket. So anyways, how is Crawford being on PPV not good again?

I don't get how it's a PPV. Nobody outside of hardcore boxing fans have heard of these two, and even most boxing fans would say this is not a PPV event.

Let's deal with reality. We have no idea what their purses are going to be. For all we know, HBO's budget is in such ruins that they are getting HBO WCB purses on a PPV telecast. No winners, fans are losers. Again, enlighten me as to why ppv is bad for Crawford who is a rising star. Why is him facing the next best 140 pounder bad for ppv? "Boxing is a business"!

This is a PPV worthy fight. Two of the best guys in their division going head to head. I don't care if nobody knows these two. I care about the matchup. Its top notch. If you aren't willing to pay for the best two in their class, but will pay for crap like Floyd Berto, you aren't really a fan of the sport. Exactly. People get too caught up in names. That's why we're getting blessed with #Khanelo. It should be about the fights.

Maybe in a utopian society, then again Crawford-Reymundo Beltran were #1-2 at lightweight with TBRB, RING, ESPN, and Boxing Scene as well. How would you have felt with that one being on PPV? Lets deal with reality son, not made up scenarios. You "boxing is a business" guys are looking funny in the light right now. Didnt you guys want fighters to get paid? Now its a problem? Im confused. Enlighten me as to why Crawford vs Postol getting a ppv fight is bad for them.

I have no issue with paying for a good competitive fight - and this fight qualifies. However, I'm a realist. The reality here is that Crawford and especially Postol are unknown commodities. This isn't a PPV worthy fight. It isn't. So why is Arum asking the casual fans to pay for unknown commodities? Doesn't make any sense... This is a PPV worthy fight. Two of the best guys in their division going head to head. I don't care if nobody knows these two. I care about the matchup. Its top notch.
