If these six in their primes entered to fight each other who would come out victorious
1) - Prime 168 Joe Calzaghe
2) - Prime 168 Roy Jones Junior
3) - Prime 168 Andre Ward
4) - Prime 168 Bernard Hopkins
5) - Prime 168 James Tony
6) - Prime 168 other - (Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank... anyone else you can think of)
I've tried to keep it as current as possible between very good fighters. we can say that Roy Jones was the best because he already faced a few of these guys in his prime (or close to it) and won but i think styles make fights and how many of these guys would win or all or majority of their fights vs each other. Also i lack insight on some of the inside information of when the fight took place i.e. Roy Jones vs James Tony... was Tony not training properly and being has lazy self etc.
This is an elite list of fighters who visited the super middleweight division and some had spent some of their prime at 168... so that being said who wins in this all star line up... we all know Ward will not fight Roy jones because they are best friends (jk lol)
There is no doubt in my mind that a prime 168 pound Roy Jones would beat everybody else on your list. He was such a good fighter it was scary. He had lightning speed of hands and feet and great reactions and timing. He had great power in all types of punches with both hands. Nobody knocked him down in his prime. He seem to have trouble taking big punches after Tarver KOed him but not in his prime.
Somebody said it already.
Y'all must have forgot. Power, skills, sick reflexes, ridiculous jab, crippling body punches. Roy Jones in his prime albeit you can question why he didn't test himself more but physically, we haven't seem anything like him the last 30 years. That is a bad, bad man. Hard for me to pick any of those guys against him. Though Roy beat him but I can see a prime Tony with his grit giving him some trouble but I see Roy winning a 12 round decision still.
1. RJJ
2. Toney
3. Hop
4. Ward
5. Calzaghe
numbers 3&4 i can see interchanging.
rjj beats everyone on points. I don't think he stops anyone on this list.
toney defeats everyone except rjj
ward defeats calzaghe, sd or draw against hop, losses to toney & rjj
hop defeats calzaghe, sd or drsw vs ward, losses to toney and rjj
calzaghe losses to all of them. his best chance at a victory is against the executioner, imo.
