I have missed out big fights because the illegal streams cut off during it. I can't watch any big fights on streams now without having that fear, it ruins the experience, so I pay and get great quality and sound on my big screen TV without any worries.
First off, yes when people are coming over one should pay for the fight. Thats not a big cost when put in the context of a night of entertainment and if it is, others can chip in.
Second, lets not go half ****ed and assume that people who want free airways and don't believe any company can tell them what they can pull down, should just pay for something because they are told to do so. For starters, one used to be able to watch the fights in an establishment that was local and the greedy people who profit decided to take this away. This ultimately limits your fan base for the majority of fighters while benefitting the few superstars.
Third, because of these superstars the prices of the fights have become inflated. People do have something to say about the ridiculous amounts of money Floyd made for that fight and what others at the 1% of boxing's elite make, not to mention the networks.
In most sports the powers that be are held responsible for giving the fans a way to connect to the action, although the NFL is also become greedy about showing games...consequently I don't watch football anymore btw.
If you want to chastise people for catching streams then chastize boxing for not doing enough to invest money taken from the top to put back into the sport for the sake of other fighters and fans. Haymon has done some good things this way but his shows always are contrived...bad as King was he would at least let fighters fight each other where there were real consequences.
It works both ways. More people would watch the fights if the local bars could show them. More people would watch the fights if they could interest people in coming over for a night of watching and more people would watch them if the fights were not so prohibitevely expensive.
And when the superstars charge a ridiculous amount it makes it bad for all the rest of the fighters who will not get the exposure they need to charge a reasonable fee for a pay per view card.
I often use things like Kodi for certain streams but i still buy the PPV fights i want to watch. That said, the PPV seems a lot cheaper here in the UK than in USA.
I'd rather just pay the money, its something i enjoy and i know there's going to be no issues like lagging with streaming and low quality picture.
I have no problem paying £15 on something i enjoy, there's plenty of worse ways to waste that money.
So, you just copped to being a broke boy? SMH.
Not all. But if you had any command of the English language, you would understand what "not shown in my area means".
When you can easily watch it for free using online streams? Last I checked, it's 2016....... not 1996.
I wana know the same thing lol
I've only bought 2 PPVs in recent years (Haye/Klit and Pac/May).
I still don't understand...the quality argument is rubbish as most streams are fine, not HD but it doesn't make that much of a difference, especially not 20 quids worth or more horrendously, 70 dollars.
People are sheep though so there is that.
Typical mentally of young men today.
Blame the government, never blame yourself, and anyone who made it must have cheated or had help from their parents.
Really shocking that with that mentality no employer deems you worthy.
Your ignorant beyond belief. So every time someone is in the situation this lad is in, its the fault of the individual? there is no complexity to the situation? No times when a man working is unfairly treated and put in a bad way?
The fact is these are complex problems. If you knew some of the sh1t this guy has to deal with in ireland you might have more sympathy. First of all I guarantee you that the taxes this guy paid when he was working should be more than enough to provide him some time unemployed. And what of those taxes? The irish basically gave the banks all the money from the hard working people because investors, with lots of disposable income, took a risk and did not want to be responsible for the loss. meanwhile more people are coming into the country and on the dole... I feel very bad for any of my european brothers and sisters right now and that goes doubly so for the Irish.
The Irish were sold down the river by their politicians. Picture Detriot and magnify it and you have some idea...As in people who worked for pensions were told to get fvked so vulture investors could maximize a profit on a risly investment from the start.
Just saying, its ignorant how you responded to this guy. He has every right to be angry given what is happening over there and he does not sound like he is making excuses so much as he is angry because you are judging him withoug thought or consideration.
I'll be honest with you, I probably won't ever buy a sports PPV again unless I have a lot of people over at the time of a big fight. I could have easily watched Pac-Floyd in 1080p on a dedicated stream and cast it over to my 55" via Chomecast but my friends insisted we just buy it. So it is what it is. Wasted $100.
Because we can afford it and aren't a cheap ass like you
How dare you make assumptions! I tried to buy the floyd fight, and they would not accept my ebt card. They said it was supposed to be for food and essentials, I told them I already bought cans of pork and bans to last the month! They said what bout Baby formula? I told them I had a hook up in China.
I watch Raider games that aren't shown in my area on streams. So yea, I must suck on computers. Streams are broke boy status.

Because we have a life. We invite a bunch of friends over to brink, bbq, and watch the fights. Last thing we want to do is huddle around a tiny computer screen when there is a big azz 65 inch tv in the living room with nice big couches and recliners.
I guess on could steal it to your tv. But we all know it's bootleg. Quality is not the same and in reality it's criminal theft. I can afford 75 bucks for a good time.
That just means you suck with computers or aren't looking hard enough.
I get my streams in 1080p HD. All free.
My DL speed isn't even that impressive, I'm on 50/50 with Fios and it never chops or lags. It's just like paying for movies or TV shows. I haven't paid for one since 2008.

That's sounds awesome. Those are the type of atmospheres that can be really amazing after you've tipped a few back, next best thing to actually being ringside for the fight.
It was man. It was a sight to behold!
http://fundafighter.com/ I have donated direct to fighters. It's easy . I also donated to a gofund.me page for a fighter needing medicals.
absolutely PERFECT solution.
No more need to buy anymore pay per views! :hail:
