I think it's great. GGG couldn't possibly have fought Ward at any weight because Ward never put a written offer on the table. That is the way real fights are made not by some free publicity bogus call out in the media.In the time frame Ward was supposed to fight GGG Ward had no fights at all.Why didn't Ward fight one of the 168 pound champions? You know. Guys his own size and not in a lighter weight class. If Hopkins wants this fight why are you crying about it? As far as the 168 pound weight goes what is the problem. Hopkins has been a pro boxer for over 20 years. Don't you think he knows what weight he can fight well at? He had no problem make 160 when he was 40 and you don't gain muscle mass from 40 to 52. If you hate this fight then don't watch it. You would b*tch about any fight GGG had coming up because you clearly hate him. I like Hopkins and GGG and I look forward to these two great fighters sharing a ring. If Hopkins is as bad as you say then Ward should have fought him. Ward likes those easy fights like Smith for example.

This fight would be a hilariously stupid move on Golovkins part. Hopkins beats GGG at 52 years of age at 168 or higher.

Hopkins is doing Ward a favor with this fight. If Golovkin fights at 168, Ward can make the argument that Golovkin should fight him at 168 too.

hopkins has been hinting that he wants golovkin ("a certain champion at 160") since around or before the kovalev fight but it still seems very pointless

It's the weight between 160 and 175. I doubt the fight happens though, but people are foolish to dismiss Hopkins just because he's 52 years old. He's still honestly one of the better fighters out there. Realistically, he's better than some of the guys Kovalev, Stevenson, GGG, Ward, etc have faced the past year or 2.

I don't like to react before anything becomes official, but if this does happen, it shows how big of a hypocrite GGG is. I like GGG but I see through the BS.
