Do you lose respect for Canelo if he doesn't fight GGG in September? We know Canelo has taken tough fights with Mayweather,Trout,Lara when he didn't have to but what's your feeling if he stalls out on the GGG fight?
Mexican fans seem to be the most loyal and passionate fans in the sport so I wanna get you guys and gals opinions.
But, when Cotto had the belt...All we heard around here was "Cotto duckin GGG." Now that Canelo has that belt, undocumented fans wanna talk about "patience..."
Team Mexico is silent now that Canelo got that Vegas decision.
Never heard that from me! I didn't even want to see that fight because Cotto would of got killed in 1 round...
Trout, floyd, Lara. Cotto are higher caliber fighters they all accomplished far more then any of the bums GGG faced. These guys would all mop the floor with the guys GGG fights. If they are just decent fights not risky then what does it say about GGGs fights? All divisions are not equal. GGG is fighting a guy next that isn't ranked top 10 at any weight and who GGG admitted didn't even know his name before he was mandated. The best fighter on his resume was just destroyed by cotto. Staying in a weak division fighting bums is not a risk. If you can't get quality fights at 160 then move to 168 and 154 where all the better fighters are at.
Haven't you heard, Ggg is mando to this champ with a great resume, but not as much ability so seems like another duck incoming

You full of crap and spinning a ton of revisionist history and lies. Trout wasn't a risk? Dude had just embarrassed Cotto on his own home turf and EVERYONE was saying Canelo won't fight him he's scared. And he fought him anyway. Lara was and in some ways is still the boogyman of 154 everyone said he wouldn't fight him and he did. Then you add first ballot HOFers who were both top 10 P4P ranked at the time he faced them in Cotto and Floyd and Canelo literally fought all the belt holders and the who's who of 154 in the last 5 years and every opponent fans have ever asked him to fight. Now tell me what GGG has done during this same time that matches this? Hell Canelo is only 25 and has already fought what 10 world champs more then double the world champs GGG has faced and he's 34. Multiple HOFers and top 10 p4p ranked fighters. If you don't think Canelo has taken risks and sought out and fought the best fighters then you just a hater and lying to yourself. It's not even a contest the level of opponents Canelo has faced is far superior then the C and D class fighters GGG has faced. To show you how much better 154 has been during GGG's time at 160 Cotto who just got beat by Canelo went and destroyed Geale who is probably the best fight GGG has ever faced and that was just a stay active fight for Cotto. Let's be honest Floyd, Cotto, Lara ect all kick the crap out of all the cab drivers GGG has faced at 160. For a long time now 160 has been the crap division that sits in between 154 and 168 where the better fights have been.
every time you enter a ring you take a risk. i am saying that if fighting others in your own devision is taking a risk then GGG has been doing it all along.
now if you say i spin **** then you are the spin master... lets not pretend that the Cotto who beat Geale at 157 is the same Geale who lost to GGG. actually Martin Murray is the best fighter on GGGs resume... remember the guy who beat Martinez but was on a bad end of a home cooked decision and should have been the number 1 rated MW got completely destroyed by GGG. if you like you can list the long list of fighters who are trying to get in the ring with GGG (and i mean trying, not the BJS or Lara twits that seem to come up when GGG is signed for a fight), now list the list of fighters who want to fight Canelo. Anyways in short Canelo is making a smart business move by not fighting his mandatory because if he does step in the ring with GGG all this resume talk is going out the window... and you might then realize that fighting the trout's and Lara's of the world will not get you past the GGG.
you can say canelo has taken great risks but really he just fought decent fighters in his own division. everyone acts like Trout and Lara are these monsters but they aren't. The only reason people consider them risks is because they have a style that is all wrong for Canelo. Even fighting these two guys he didn't make any concessions, he came in at his weight, he did his thing and he got the favorable decision with the judges... both fights could have gone either way.
The only concession that Canelo ever did was when he gave up 2 lbs for Floyd. Canelo can do what he wants, drop the belt and go back to 155, until he can no longer make that weight and move to 156 division.
fighting other decent fighters in his own weight division isn't anything spectacular.

Its easy to say that now but this board was flooding with posts saying Trout was too good for Canelo and that he would never take the fight bc GBP wouldn't let him. He took control of his own career and refused to fight on another Floyd undercard and sold out the Alamodome and fought a guy people said would beat him. He won that fight.
Same thing with Lara, he was the boogie man that everyone was avoiding at 154. People said Lara would embarrass Canelo. After he ate a few body shots he was firmly on that bicycle. Hindsight always makes it look different but at the time even his own promoter didn't want him to take those fights.
Time for GGG to take control of his career and enhance his legacy.
that's the thing, he is doing it. Don't take my word for it just look at the evidence, he is selling out pretty much every event he headlines. Keep in mind GGG isn't coming from a dedicated fan base like Canelo, he has to work much harder to get people in the ring with him than Canelo. lets not pretend like Canelo needs to give anything up in order to get half decent fighter, nor did he have to sacrifice or take his destiny in his own hands. if you believe that not ducking someone good in your division is taking destiny into your own hands then Golovkin has done that and more.
By years end when paquio retires GGG will be top 5 (if not top 3) most known names in boxing (as far as active fighters go)... if he isn't already. If Canelo doesn't want to take the fight at the full limit like a champion should then that's his thing, but lets not pretend like GGG needs to cut the weight to 155 in order to be great. Sooner or later Canelo won't be able to cut the weight and he would have to move up and then he will come up again with the 90/10 split and fans like you would come on here and say he has to take it in order to be great... no he doesn't.

Canelo has had a very good career so far, and his resume proves that he is not afraid of facing a tough opponent. (Mayweather was p4p #1, many thought he would duck trout and lara.)
But the fact that he is demanding to fight at 155 lbs for the lineal middleweight championship, and defending his title against a glass chinned welterweight instead of ggg, is just ridiculous. Ggg isnt above criticism either (164 demand to duck ward)
I'm actually pretty disappointed with both fighters tbh.
Not at all. Canelo has pushed for the best fights that the fans have been asking for the las few years. Even against the wishes of his promoter, who didn't want him to fight Lara or Trout at the time. Oscar even stated he tried to talk Canelo and his manager out of those fights personally.
Now Canelo is in a position where he has taken the risks and is in the driver seat. GGG has not earned the right to dictate anything to Canelo. If he is as confident as his fans are that he would make easy work of Canelo he should take the fight at 155 and embarrass ginger at his own weight. Then he can demand a rematch at 160. With great reward comes great risk. Canelo has taken those risks, if GGG wants to enhance his resume its his turn to take his.

Last time you said you were Puerto Rican.
I'm starting to suspect that you might be Central American.
El Salvador?
His neither a Mexican or Puerto Rican. He IS however, a dick.
Mexicans are very tribal. They'll support Canelo if he boxes with a dildo up his arse.
They will excuse plaster wraps as baby powder...chest acne at 40 as a mild rash...piss sippin as holistic...
Undocumented fans need a hero to get through life.
But, when Cotto had the belt...All we heard around here was "Cotto duckin GGG." Now that Canelo has that belt, undocumented fans wanna talk about "patience..."

I agree with this. People can say canelo is fighting GGG in September, but I seriously doubt that. Fighting a guy who isnt a very good welterweight at 160, does not prepare one for a middleweight with serious power. All these dudes are lying to themselves giving canelo a pass.

Cotto paid GGG step aside money in order to defend against Daniel Geale. So he definitely avoided him.
BTW: You're the third person I've heard who believes Cotto beat Canelo. The other two were Cotto and Freddie Roach.
I have a lot of mexican friends and they are all starting to get pissed off at canelo's diva ways and how he should be fighting ggg next since he is the champion at 160.btw as I'm sure you know ggg has a ton of mexican fans.
Not at all because he will fight him eventually, it would be stupid to go straight for GGG on his first 160 fight, GGG is a beast he will eventually be champion in 3 diffrent weight clases from 160-175.

Trip G should just take the 155 and come in at 160 and see what happens then.I wonder what would happen if ggg did that its not like gbp would cancel the fight.

Lol, true. If the star wars graphics weren't a clue, he's a fantasist. Likely a 300lb kid whose only exposure to light is a computer monitor.
Im Mexican, born in Guadalajara, Mexico. In spanish for proof, soy mexicano nacido en Guadalajara, Mexico. And I'm ashamed of Canelo, he is a goddamn coward. People here locally make fun of him and are calling him a low life chicken, everybody here in Mexico recognizes he is scared of Gennady. Uorale!

Canelo has taken on the toughest fights and the guy should be getting respect from anyone not just Mexican fans.
He's gonna fight GGG in September. Until proven wrong, lets not ask hypothetical questions.
