A super-fight to me is when you have 2 top of the world fighters, in their prime against each other without having a clear favourite in either fighter.
Khan is coming off 3-4 iffy performances and is 2 weightclasses below Canelo as well as a huge underdog.
So how is it a super fight?
Algieir v Khan was a lot of fun, both guys going at it...cmon bro, don't try too hard. We get it, you don't like Khan but don't hurt your own credibility as a boxing fan.
lol wtf are you talking about? I'm being honest. He hasn't excited me since he left Roach and that's just a fact.
the fact that you have to pull up the Algieri fight, which wasn't entertaining, speaks volumes of that.
Compare that to the fights he had vs Maidana or Peterson or some of the fights before that. Nothing at all.
He stunk the place out vs Algieri.
I haven't seen a fun Khan fight since he left Roach. All of them have been complete stinkers.

Laced Up getting sonned in his own thread
:rofl::rofl:
Stop being salty.
You should be angry at Kelly for mugging you off time and time again
Angry at Kell for what? He's not the one ducking like a female.
So we're in agreement and Khan is almost always in fun fights and it's a huge risk/ballsy move by him so I can't fault him for it.
In terms of viewership, it will probably be a top 5 most watched fight this year.
I'm cool with that, as long as Skysport don't get their hands on it and turn it into a PPV.

Do you personally feel Canelo warrants the tag, elite ?
I can't find any justification to say he is personally, then again I believe the Cotto fight was much closer than the average observer. Who else does he hold wins over ? Was Cotto elite ?
Depends on your definition of elite I would say.
He has some good wins like trout, lara & cotto.
Is he absolutely top of the elite pile like a Crawford, GGG, Ward or Kovalev?
No. But around the MW/LMW divisions I'd say he's the best along with GGG.
I would say Canelo is an elite fighter, yes.
Khan hasn't proved he is no. And yes it's definitely a mis-match which is why it shouldn't be billed as a super-fight in my opinion.

I have missed, as in not been able to watch better / more important fights. Like May-Pac I missed.
But yeah it's a good fight and undoubtedly one of the ones to watch out for this year.

We are still in February, so more could happen.
But not denying it's a good fight. But I've missed worse fights than this in all honesty.
Incl. Mayweather vs Pacquiao :lol1:

Fury's been talking aabout a surprise opponent but who knows, he might just be trolling. Even then, you have to pick a world heavyweight championship fight or a fight featuring one of the biggest ppv stars ever to find a fight bigger than Khan/Canelo. That ain't so bad.

Yes, this is going to be the next Ali vs Frasier. It's going to be a war: Canelo risks his title against iron chinned Khan. The suspense is too much.
:lol1: ..........
Far frm confirmed? It's pretty close to being confirmed and we know it's happening next.

Is Canelo even an elite fighter ? I know Khan ain't.
For me this is another glorified mismatch as GGG vs Lemieux was, only it'll do more sales for one reason or another.
Boxing is a business and this is prize fighting. Can't really knock Khan for taking the fight but this is pretty low from Canelo.

so says the guy promoting the fight? sue him
Klitschko v Fury would be bigger but it's far from confirmed, there's nothing else on the horizon bigger, unless Stevenson v Kovalev gets made but neither of those guys do Khan/Canelo numbers.

How would Kell Brook Vs Amir Khan be a super fight then?
Apparently Khan is coming off 3-4 iffy performances against better opponents than Kell Brook
Yet here we have Kell Brook coming off a clinch fest stinker with Shawn Porter which he barely won then a stinker against Bum Bum Dan, Frankie Gavin now soon to add to the list Kevin Bizier.
Yet you think this is a super fight?
Let me guess but they're British doe.
Because it's a 50-50 fight between two big names. It would be a super-fight in the UK, not world wide.
Brook's resume might not be the best, but neither is Khan's for that matter - doesn't mean it shouldn't be a super-fight.
Who did Hearns fight before he fought Ray Leonard the first time? He was still considered an absolute monster and the fight was the most anticipated fight of all times probably, at least financially.

I think it would be a super fight in the UK itself. Sky have the monopoly and blanket coverage on their sports channels in the build up, also the sports publications in the daily news go all out and stick it right down the casuals throat, Sky and Hearn really go the whole hog when promoting the fights.
