Floyd Mayweather's #50

he'll most likely fight in september.... after the winners of thurman/porter fight DSG... that winner will fight floyd if he ever comes out of retirement imo I think it'll be in October or after. October 11th, 1996 was his first-ever professional boxing match, so going for #50 after or around the 20 year-anniversary of his professional boxing career seems like a proper retirement.

Assuming he comes back for a 50th fight (which he will, and spare me the boring responses of 'He isn't coming back" if you disagree), who do think he will fight? Who do you want him to fight? Pacquiao? Khan (if he pulls out a huge upset over Canelo)? GGG? I like GGG, but I don't think it would be as huge of a risk as others do. The way people build him up, you'd think he was the second coming of Mike Tyson. Not that 34-0 with 31 KO's is anything to dismiss, but still. Mayweather's superior speed and reflexes combined with his overall defensive wizardry would almost certainly take him to a Unanimous Decision on that one. As much as id like to agree with you on Mayweather/GGG ive got to say it would be a tough fight for Floyd due to size, GGG ring IQ is very good too (im not a big fan of his style btw) I think Floyds punches wouldnt be as effective against GGG, the weight difference would be significant factor in the fight, it would be a rough fight similiar to the Maidana first fight. Not saying he couldnt outpoint him, hes an elite boxer, id love to see him beat GGG then id have no problem putting him at number 1 ATG.

Danny Garcia or Khan if he beats Canelo

Floyd is def going for #50 and i think it's happening in September. He is most likely going to fight Danny "Swift" Garcia or Amir Khan if he somehow finds a way to defeat the Red Haired Mexican Bombshell & avoid the rematch. It baffles me that people mention GGG as a possible candidate, that fight doesn't make sense AT ALL. I love Floyd Mayweather Jr and i ride for TMT all day 24/7 365 but GGG is simply waaaay too powerful to be picking on an average sized welterweight, GGG gets the easy KO and it it's not because Floyd isn't good, it is because mother nature, there's weight classes for a reason, son. People should be asking for GGG to move up to 168 already, enough with the beatings of 154ers and 160ers, lets see if he can do the same one weight class above, now thats a new challenge for Gennady, not fighting a welterweight in Floyd smh @ you guys, son.

Beyond that, there's not another fight that you can point to, on planet Earth, that would put $300m into Floyd's pocket (his likely take on the Pacquiao fight, after counting his share on the PPV, event sponsors, his share off of the tickets, the international money, and other revenues). If you can think of such a fight, you've got your 50th. 1. Yes, he will be back. His age is irrelevant, he isn't your typical 39 year-old boxer and he isn't gonna let his legacy rest at 49-0 instead of going to at least 50-0. He even just showed off a new pair of trunks that he could wear. 2. He won almost every round against Berto and it wasn't even close. Berto could barely touch him and even the one round he did win (the 7th) was the judges being pretty generous. 3. Floyd said his return wouldn't be exclusively about the money anyway. And I don't think him never managing to match his payday with Pacman will prevent him from returning, kind of silly logic, tbh.

I say give a young fighter the opportunity, be it winner of Porter-Thurman or Danny Garcia. That said I hope he stays retired.

^That doesn't answer the question lol. And it was Pacquiao's fault that the fight wasn't a spectacle. Everyone knows how Mayweather fights, the hype of the fight relied on the effectiveness of Manny to force may out of his comfort zone and force him to engage with him in order to win. That didn't happen.

Who cares? He shouldn't have ripped off the fans in the Pac fight and then pretend to retire just to try to rip the fans off again with that Berto exhibition bout. Stay retired, you already ruined the sport enough.
