We all know Khan gained respect even though in some cases some of us feel its a cashing out fight, however how do you feel about Canelo. Do you respect him more or less for making this fight.
Were you this outraged when Cotto chose Delvin Rodriguez, when he fought Yuri Foreman, or when he fought old man Mayorga?
I bet you were singing a different tune for those fights. Now I Know Cotto is bigger than those guys and outweighed them for 20+ pounds... the only one needing respect is Khan for taking this fight.
I voted gained my respect as the risk/reward on this fight is so low that I don't see how you don't respect it as a business decision. In that way this was a gift and it would have been foolish for him not to jump on it. I also said gained my respect because Canelo's drawing power was seductive enough to entice Kahn into this match.
Just imagine the outrage if GGG picked Khan as his next opponent. GGG would get totally obliterated on this forum and by the media. Canelo, the golden child of Mexico and Oscar's golden goose, the face of boxing can do whatever he wants.
Hey atleast fat Dan is praising this fight lol. I'm sure he'd do the same if it was ggg
Right now means nothing. It's all going to depend on if he fights GGG within the next ~year. That's going to determine peoples' level of respect for him
Neither.
It's an okayish tune up fight even though Khan is moving up in weight. Canelo probably has the toughest string of opposition in boxing, so I'm cool with him taking on an easier guy here and again. He doens't need to fight a war if they are setting up GGG later this year.
not only is he NOT fighting GGG or any legit MW, he's picking on a JWW that has looked like sh1t the last few times ive seen him
and if that's not bad enough, he's giving that sorry ass JWW a fat payday for doing nothing to earn it
yay Canelo
Terrible fight. But do you think can can actually make 140? I doubt he can. He's defintely a WW. But yeah, still a b*tch made selection by Canelo.

Obviously lost. Remember when someone said something about Canelo fighting Rosado and people were ripping it apart? Yeah Rosado is 10x the fight this is. Most people weren't exactly holding out for him to take on a killer before GGG, but they wanted a legit 160lber at or at least near 160. Canelo went the exact opposite direction.
This isn't embarrassing as a Canelo fan, this is downright embarrassing as a fan of the sport of boxing.
Canelo wasn't going to fight anyone that was a true threat, so Khan fits that bill.
I have never had a problem with watching Khan getting roughed up, it should be fun for a non-threatening fight they really couldn't do better.
Pretty much. Looking forward to the knockdowns.

This one is a push to me. Way out of left field, but acceptable. Perhaps because standards have become Salka levels of low as others have mentioned. Khan tried to back/talk his way into a big fight for the last few years, now he is daring to be great. Things the true stars before him did.
Neither.
He's got wins over Trout, Lara, Cotto, Angulo and Kirkland and also fought Mayweather.
Sure, this is a cakewalk, but one fight isn't going to diminish the rest.
Regardless of the outcome if the fight happens, his decision on the Golovkin fight will define Canelo for a lot of people.
