Bob Arum the crook told us that the Pacquiao v Khan fight didn't happen because HBO didn't believe Khan was big enough of a name for PPV. But Khan now happens to be big enough of a name to fight Canelo Alvarez, HBO's star attraction on HBO PPV?
this right here!!! beat me to it!! the same posters on here saying pac ducked khan is saying pac is cherry picking khan just a few weeks ago LOL.
Exactly, meanwhile these Floyd fans forget that Floyd really did duck Khan when he asked his fans to vote for his next opponent and they chose Khan and he chose Maidana. The hate runs deep.
I don't think it was a Duck, Arum just did not want to Pay Up and did not want to have to open his Books so he booked a fighter within his Camp so he can cash in and cash in on Pacquiao ALONE
No Way Arum wouldn't compromised with UK PPV Split like GBP did, he would've wanted most of that as well I'M SURE!
Where's your proof that HBO didn't pass on Khan for Pac? HBO doesn't care about Pac anymore, he's old news and he already got humiliated by Mayweather. They would rather feed Khan to Canelo. He's the future of the company.
You think fans wouldn't be raving enough about Pac vs Khan? Sorry, but I have to disagree with this. It would've been off the scale if that fight took place, it would have flooded social media and 99% of fans would have preferred that to Bradley-Pac 3.
I agree that fans would have preferred Pacquiao vs Khan over a third Bradley fight. But Pac vs Khan wouldn't have attracted as much popularity and discussion as Canelo- vs Khan. Pac vs Khan is two welterweights, it's pretty basic, welterweights fighting eachother. One is great, the other one good. This is a welterweight moving up 2 weight classes to fight the MW champ. Boxingscene nearly blew up the day the fight was announced.
Maybe HBO feels that since Canelo is such a big star who did 300k, 350k with Lara and Angulo, that he would do at least 600k with Khan. While Pacquiao vs Khan may not have been seen as something fans would rave about enough, because both of their star power are lower than usual for the time being. Signing to fight Canelo raised Khan's stock and made him more popular than he was last week, while it made Canelo the big bad cherrypicker and more fans will likely pay for this than they would pay for Pac vs Khan. Just my thoughts.
genius floyd fans"
Pac can't decide for himself
Pac is a puppet
Pac fights who arum told him to fight.
PAC DUCKED KHAN!
genius floyd fans and their logic
Its obvious Arum wanted to keep it in house. Most promoters will do that if they can. Oscar has shown to be more willing to work with others.
Also, I thought this fight was going to be HBO PPV regardless of opponent? So of course they would accept Khan as a choice if Rosado/Monroe were the other options.

Canelo Alvarez calls his own shot, regardless of what anyone else wants to say about it; against the protests of everyone, Alvarez fought Erislandy Lara because that was the fight he wanted.
Unless things drastically changed since Schaefer left, Canelo Alvarez takes home 85% of the proceeds off of the US PPV, Alvarez seems to have exclusive rights to his TV deal in Mexico, and he's locked up some prime sponsorhips.
Canelo needed a marketable opponent for Cinco de Mayo weekend, access to fighters was limited (thanks HBO/Golden Boy), and Khan likely emerged as the most marketable name that was available (Khan fighting in the US for so long that I doubt that his UK profile is really all that, but he's likely sold Oscar on being this massive UK star that folks will travel for).

I think you are delusional if you think Manny ducked Khan. Khan doesn't Amir doesn't have the two things that could trouble Manny, the elusiveness and the Power. Manny had stated in numerous pieces that I 've seen that he wants Khan. The unfortunate part is that Manny as big as a star as he is, is a puppet to one old fart named Arum. Arum was posturing and had no intention of making this anything but an in-house fight. It was going to be Bradley or Crawford. Arum effectively killed that Khan fight without Manny even having any say in it.
