No? when i say "big," or measure "bigness" it's in the practical sense that promotors consider. that sense is basically the sum of all revenue streams. the big ones are TV money and gate money. there are also closed curcuit fees on big, vegas fights, advertising space in the ring and during the promotion, etc. and those do add up. pacquiao - mayweather sold around 7 million in closed circuit. 70 million at the gate. god knows how much in ad revenue. and on taxes, that really depends on a myriad of factors. the short answer is no. you can be taxed to the point that you're better off taking a lower purse with a more favorable tax rate.

Listen there's no doubt Khan has tremendous balls for taking this fight. Whether it's for money or whatever his reason behind it is. He still has to get in the ring and face Canelo at MW. I just can't understand why anyone would think this is a good idea. I mean this is a potentially damaging fight. We've seen Canelo hurt people who are far more punch resistant than Khan - and hurt them badly. Of course daring to be great is awesome. Money is certainly a part of it. It is prize fighting after all. However, Khan would make $10 plus for Brook. For Canelo I doubt he will make even $5 mil. The reward is great because it is still the money most ppl wont ever see in their lives, but the severity of the challenge compared to the ones available along with the magnitude of the achievement if he pulls it, is it not daring to be great? am a khan fan but i mean i wanna watch him fight and don't mind seeing him lose. so yes am 1st of all happy he's actually taking to the ring for a start, also very happy with the choice of opponant.
