In terms of excitement no one beats pacquiao but ggg was more dominant and consistent.
Prime pacquiao was like a bloodlusted little wildcat high on meth throwing weird punches while fighting guys much bigger than him. In ggg fights you don't get that sense of thrill.
Exactly, ggg is more dominant and consistent but watching pacman fights were unpredictable, you never knew what to expect next, ggg you can pretty much expect him to slowly walk a guy down break him down and tko or stop him.
Pacquiao, the guy was a ball of fury, he was like a cartoon character in there never got tired was explosive and never gave a crap he would mix it up relentless and furious throwing blow after blow after blow, but with fast shots, his double jab withthe left hand missle with his entire body behind it was a signature punch that will always be remebered
Ggg is more refined, and calculated he picks his punches, but other than dominating his opponent in slow methodical fashion he bores me. Pac has had fights that went the distance that were exciting, if none of ggg fights ended in ko, he would be considered boring. He is very slow and looks basic, he has skills and smarts but to me and anyone who was around here 2004 to 2007' pacquiao was hands down the name he basically made boxing fun again, when floyd was boring the place up and retired, pacman came on the scene and gave the casual fans something to believe in again, just when they thought boxing was boring this little mad. Man came on the scene, ufc was gobbling up boxing at the time, i still remember pac destroying oscar, hatton and cotto, the way people talked about pac was the way they talked about tyson they wondered how this small dude from flyweight was going toe to toe with big guys and breaking their faces, just do a search.
Ggg is a good fighter but he just doesnt have the appeal to generate interest from the casuals yet, he also has a plodding style, and slow methodical, which is considered robotic.
Agreed with everyone else. Manny and not even close. Manny was just to active and was fun to watch. I'll give ggg body shots are a beauty to watch because it's actually effective but watching a little guy making bigger guys his ***** was fun to watch.

It's Pacquiao and it's not even close.
Not only was he beating guys impressively, but it was the names he was beating. Morales, Barrera, Marquez( although I never though he beat him), Larios, DLH, Hatton, Cotto.
That's a hell of a list of fighters he beat.
Both are exciting and dominant fighters so the decision was rather difficult to make. However, Manny was facing elite names in his prime and dominated the likes of Barrera, Morales, Cotto, Hatton, Margarito, Clottey, Bradley and defeated many other good names on his way up the ladder. He may have lost a few times but that's because of the level of competition he faced once he was in his prime. GGG hasn't fought any names of that caliber to date. On top of that there isn't any names aside from Canelo and the sunken possibility of the Ward clash that could have came close to comparing with Manny's best names.
GGG may be dominating his foes, but then again, Manny would have looked even more unstoppable himself if he had faced similar level competition during the prime of his career.
Vote and discussI am a big fan of both fighters. I don't know where you would say Pacquiao's prime starts and ends. I voted GGG was the more exciting dominate fighter. You can't get more exciting than 22 KO's in a row. You can't get more dominate than knocking all your opponents out and almost never losing even a single round of the fight. Pacquiao has been able to fight better opponents but he didn't dominate them the way GGG has done. Pacquiao has been knocked down and hurt and even lost in his prime. These things don't happen to GGG.
Prime Pacquiao was more exciting, faster.
Golovkin appears to be more dominant, but Pacquiao was fighting better competition.
To be fair though Golovkin gets ducked by a lot of opponents, Pac was only really ducked by Mayweather.
This would be my post...spot on. :boxing:
Prime manny because he had much better gallery of opponents..
How would manny's career be if barrera, marquez and morales never fight him much like how sturm, serg, Cotto, and canelo havent fought ggg.
Plus manny's destruction of Hatton and cotto are two all time beatdowns in big fights

Pacman... he fought men who were supposed to beat him, upset the odds over and over again, and left a path of destruction through eight weight divisions.
