It's been two years since Mikey Garcia stepped into the ring

Another star on the rise who's career has been ruined by Al Haymon. Dude was in line for the Pacquiao money fightm hbo was ready to make him the face of hbo boxing, he made 2+ mill for his last fight vs a complete bum. He had it all. That snake Haymon convinced him to pull this stupid nonsense, and now look at him, making no $, and almost completely forgotten About. Not to mention lost 2 years of his prime. Thanks Haymon. No one can kill of this sports stars like him.

Bob Arum is a devil. It truly amazes me how people still defend him.

His last fight, January 25/2014 vs. Juan Carlos Burgos. He's 28, he lost 2 years off his prime. It doesn't look like he's going to be back any time soon. Absolute shame. I really like Mikey and thought he would be one of the major players in the sport. I know a lot of fighters have issues with Bob and I am all for fighters handling their business. That said, I wish Mikey had found another way to deal with all of this. I've missed watching him fight and will watch when he comes back but I just feel he has really wasted his career.

We heard the rumors that people were whispering in his ear before it all went down. I just shake my head at the whole mess and in hindsight, I bet he now wishes he would have just worked through his contract. Arum has no mercy. He will let Garcia wither away and have no remorse. Garcia was making bigger and bigger purses and just decided to jump ship. I cannot tell who to blame here. If it does come out that Arum was cheating him he will be rewarded. If not he will come out broke and have to start all over.

he surely has to be feeling it now, that money is getting thin. He just moved into a new house bought a new car, he was looking into buying a lambo and then bam this happened so he didnt get his lambo and his way of living hasnt changed and no new income coming in it gonna catch up and BAM thats when ARUM CRUSHES him with a deal for another 15 years lol. Well we don't know for sure, hopefully he has another source of income, he can't be that stupid.

Mikey could be one of the best today but he isn't doing sh*t. Waste of talent and I was a big fan of his style too

:lol1: You act as if Ward was going out of his way to get on tv and talk crap. Mikey isn't on tv cause people aren't asking him to commentate. Really, did Ward say "rematch only in Oakland" or did he say he didn't have to fight Froch in Froch's hometown? He already beat the guy, he isn't obligated to give into Froch for a paycheck(would he have liked one? of course he would have, as we all would), as far as Ward is concerned he'd already beaten him and didn't have to prove anything. ward had every single super six fight in his home country and most in his hometown. froch fought in 4 different countries in the tournament. ward doesn't care about taking risks. he wants to win at all costs. if he doesn't get the circumstances to his liking he simply won't fight. letting him rig the super six in his favor was a huge mistake for showtime. they created a diva monster.

From what i understand he found out Arum was skimming and not guving him his fair share and when asked they denied so he wanted out of contract. Has 1 fight left and offered to fight anyone to leave but TR refusing to give the fight without an extension. So TR shelved him Crazy how stuff like that is supposed to be legal; Mikey owes a single ****ing fight and Arum can sit on that for two years with no one raising any issues.

He was building up a bit of steam as well wasn't he. I have no idea who is at fault for the situation, but from his career point of view, it's unfortunate.

A real shame because he really was well schooled and could had been one of those big names around his weight class

The one thing in his favour is that he has stayed quiet during the layoff. There is nothing that fans hate more than an inactive fighter talking shit. See Ward for an example. Mikey has been in plenty of videos on youtube, just doesn't talk about the ongoing legal stuff. I don't remember Ward speaking on it either aside to say that it was ongoing. Could be wrong, but he wasn't fighting so I didn't really care what he had to say unless he was talking about getting back into the ring
