So looking at Guerrero and Ortiz performance as of lately.
I use to always defend them as not always being the biggest names, they were solid opponent choices for Mayweather.
But with Guerrero and Ortiz both basically being ran thru like a college whore by the football team, does this effect Mays resume?
I mean I use to think Guerrero was a good solid B+ fighter but now I regard him as maybe C+ or C-.
And Ortiz I use to think of as a monster when focused, but looking back he's just not as good as I thought.
And for Canelo, he has proven to be better than I thought, which would probably give May more credit.
I think that it's more important to look at it from the perspective of where they were WHEN they fought, as opposed to looking at what happened after. I definitely doesn't help if they go on a losing streak afterwards, but I think that there's more to it than just that.
This post is all kinds of wrong.
LOL at blitzing guys like pac and dominating on pure skill. thats some pure bullcrap exaggeration.
I dont think he blitz pac, your a liar! Pretending like you didnt see what I said! He walked down Canelo and didnt get touched by a single shot! He was 37 and 150lbs, Canelo was 22 and 165lbs! I dont think I ever seen anything like that in my life!
Mayweather faced 49 opponents, and changed his entire fighting style to dominate them each, without getting touched by a single shot!
I never seen anything like it in history! He wasnt a small guy with speed and power, battering them and outquicking them! It was pure skills! It will never happen again in boxing history!
To me they are some of his most meaningful victories, due to circumstances! When Floyd is 34, coming off a 16 month layoff, and at the time, Ortiz was the 3rd best fighter in the division, 24yrs old, and 164lbs on fightnight! All of Floyd's fights since returning to fight JMM, are his most meaningful victories due to age and circumstances!
Ghost is a great fighter, and a tactical boxer! People forget how he used to fight! When he came to welterweight, he was a pressure swarmer, and his punches are so close together, coming from odd angles! Floyd fought him similar to how he faced Genero hernandez! I know Floyd is listed as taller than everyone he faces, but Floyd always looks tiny! Its no way his arms are longer than all these big guys! And Ghost was 160lbs and Floyd was 150lbs coming out of jail!
SRL had great legends on his resume, but he had power to hurt his opponents, and was the same size as them! Floyd isnt a small guy with speed and power, blitzing guys like Pac! He was dominating off of pure skills!
For that reason, I have always looked at his resume as by far tougher than SRL! And look at how effortless Floyd made it look! 19yrs with a whopping 49 fight record, which will never happen again against foes of this caliber! Reason I have him top 3 ATG!

They do. Whether or not they should is another matter.
Those two are irrelevant in Floyd's case anyway. Neither win cracks his top 15.
