As latinos we stay united, PODER LATINO!
Except...when it comes to the eternal boxing rivalry....Mexico vs PR!
Who has/had more champs, past, and present!?
GO!
:headbang:
Verdejo is coming to dominate divisions!! :headbang:Verdejo if he is the great we think he is he will dominate 3 divisions... 135,140 and 147 and who knows if in prime could go all to 154 pounds, he's taller than Crawford/Canelo but not bigger YET.
Get ready to chalk another one up for La Tierra Azteca on Jan 23rd :boxing:

Orale....
Lol
this is true.
at the worst, it should have been a 1 round advantage for ODLH and the win ... either he got winded / felt that whiffing left hook getting closer and closer or just chose not to close out the show like a champ but the fact remains that THIS GUY will always celebrate an early xmas gift :)
he ran and paid for it, it was cringe-worthy to watch.
His game plan was simply to jump in throw a combo and jump the hell out of there. He did that a few times a round. Not sure he made Tito like an amateur. Fact is that scared tactic was impossible to implement all twelve rounds. He tired and ran the rest of the way.
Tito did what he always did. Looked to kill him and get the ko. If Oscar didn't employ his jump in and out strategy that's exactly what would have happened. Oscar knew it. Everyone knew it.
If Oscar truely believes he gave a "boxing lesson" the rematch who'd have happened. But he knew as we all did any other strategy would have spelt his doom. It didn't work the first time. So no need to try it again. Hence no rematch. Any other rationale for it not taking place in is quite literally bs
Oscar made him look like an amateur for 8-9 rounds. Cheato was out boxed, confused, busted up, and bloody. Even resorted to cheap shots.
No way did Cheato win. It took Don King and his shady ass judges to steal that victory from Oscar.
Let's just agree to disagree.
Why does everyone forget arguably the greatest PR fighter Carlos Ortiz? That's just on the first page too! He's easily on a par with Sanchez, Morales, Barrera etc. Crazy underrated.
I honestly couldn't remeber if ortiz was Rican or mexican, so I left him off..
But yeah he would clearly be one of the top 2 guys or so for either side..
PR had Tito and Cotto.
Like I said,, Mexico has Sanchez and chavez,,, trumps anything Rico has
Quantity yeah mexico triumphs, quality I'll say they are even.
Sanchez
Chavez
Marquez
Morales
Barrera
---
Gomez
Benitez
Trinidad
Cotto
how is cotto consider on par with
chavez
sanchez
Marquez
Morales
Barrera
that dude has lost every time it was time to step up
his best win is mosley
the rest of his wins always had some controversy
Gomez
Benitez
Trinidad
are atgs though without a doubt
**** I think Edwin Rosario was better than cotto tbh

- Its fun reading post's like this.., Bottom line is that both nations have produced alot of world class fighters, And in my book anyone who is willing to step into the squared circle demands respect, and someone who dominates in that squared circle...is something special. I dont have any hate towards fighters from Mexico, but when its PR vs Mexico I have to go with PR, thats the home team.

me personally i think salvador sanchez and juan manuel marquez is the best mexican fighter ive seen chavez sr lost fights when he stepped up in comp they awarded him the draw or victory
felix trinidad
miguel cotto(the first latino i believe to win titles in 4 different weight classes)
wilfred benitez
just my humble opinion but to ME tho i'd say felix trinidad is MY personal fav fighter bc he has the longest reign of any welterweightdam who is that in ur signature... PR and MEX we love each other stop making stupid thread like this....

mexico by a stretch in terms of the volume of champions. i think it would make an interesting thread to pick the best mexican and puerto rican fighters of each weight class, and then pick the winner of a fantasy fight between the two.
mexico does.
however, per capita, PR is a crazy productive boxing country.
for perspective, more than twice as many people live in mexico city than the entire island of puerto rico.
yea, very true about PR.

Heck yea man, me too, but I like Fury more for what I consider obvious reasons.
Wilder is great entertainment, boxing needs both of these guys, but you will never hear me speak of them on the same level, I would never entertain the idea that Wilder has more than a punchers chance against Fury. Fanboys hear unbiased observations and they don't know what to do with themselves, they go crazy. It doesn't compute. Their heads explode like in the movie Mars Attacks.
