I think it'll be 50/50 by September when they fight. it's 60/40 right now only because Canelo hasn't debuted at middleweight yet. He's one fight away from being able to beat GGG right now. And GGG is 33/34. Timing is everything in life and in boxing. Just saying.
Maybe so. I really looking forward to this fight.
Hard to believe that Canelo has been a pro longer than GGG and has fought more than twice as many rounds as a pro. The ginger's as ready as he'll ever be. I understand the need to let this fight simmer a bit, but hopefully it happens by the end of the year.
Hmmm....
I think it's more 60 40GGG favor. Canelo has a chance but I just don't see him being able to outbox GGG. Canelo needs to make it a dog fight but I don't think he has the tempement to do so.

I think he is ready now. He is in his prime physically and he has been fighting pro for 10 years and well over 40 pro fights. He just score a good win over the lineal middleweight champion. A fight or two against other boxers won't really help much to prepare him for GGG who is vastly superior to most middleweights. Besides he already is getting a May title defense in before he fights GGG. He should fight GGG in his next fight after his May title fight. That is his responsibility as WBC and lineal middleweight champion. If he puts the fight off any longer than that it would look like he was stalling. It would look like he was waiting for old age to catch up with GGG and that's not a good look. I think GGG would beat him now or later. He should fight GGG in September 2016 at 160 pounds. He has the best chance of any middleweight to beat GGG. Win, lose or draw this will get him much respect. If he loses he can rebound just as he did from the Mayweather loss.
He doesn't have to move his feet. he is good and getting better at what he does. Some fighters don't dance and Canelo is one of'em. People riding him off in a fight with GGG are idiots. Simple as that. It's a 50/50 MEGA fight. Canelo can beat him.

yes but he aint beating GGG ever. a good fighter aint beating an equally good but stronger, bigger, smarter, prolly more durable fighter, jut the way I see it
He is as ready as he is ever going to be, I haven't seen him changing much as a fighter that would say he has much growth left. He is a pretty good boxer though and seems like he has a bit of toughness in him, so maybe that is enough.
Ha...
Canelo isn't THAT good. He doesn't move his feet. He doesn't stay busy. But he will make GGG's most interesting fight. I really hope it happens.

Canelo should just duck him, his resume is pretty stellar for a 25yr old. No point taking a fight you can't win and a beating that will shorten your career. Too much potential, give up the belt and let GGG reign until he retires.
Canelo has had 48 pro fights while GGG has had 34 pro fights. Canelo has faced higher caliber fighters than GGG. So please lets just get the "he's not ready" excuse out of here. Canelo is prime right now.
If this kids chin holds against a solid puncher like GGG then it will be a good fight. This kid was winning major Junior Olympic tourneys when he was a little kid he's no "green up & comer"! He looked unpolished with Floyd but that was then against a highly polished boxer.
Both of these men are the best that I see at Middleweight and their both very good.
Why people look for excellence is ridiculous, no fighter is perfect and the great fighters can have a bad night just like a B- talent can have an A+ bout.
Thats the beauty of boxing, styles make for great matches & crappy ones too.

Depends what you mean by ready. If you mean ready to beat GGG, then certainly not.
He might gain useful experience by fighting a legit 160lber but not sure how much that will add to his chances.
So the real question is, will he ever be ready?
